  1. Hard disagree. The tank's job is to hold aggro and protect the team, not run off and leave stragglers behind because he needs to be the star who has to prove how ub3rl33t he is. When you're playing normal content on a PUG you get all different kinds of ATs, builds, and levels on your team. Do not assume the rest of your team isn't going to get curbstomped by stray bosses you were too lazy or disinterested to go back and deal with. Also, why would you want to run into the next room/spawn if half the team isn't ready because they're dealing with the stragglers you left behind? That's not how a coordinated team works. That's how a tank who thinks they're special and doesn't need the rest of the team works. I've been on a number of teams I've had to leave because the tanks refused to mop up before running ahead and the squishes kept dying because of it. It's not cool. And it's not fun.
  2. FWIW I really loathe tank-types that run off to the next group leaving critters behind to attack the squishies on the back line.
  3. There is currently another thread about this in Help & Support
  4. To the best of my knowledge the game's textures are just 2D bitmaps that the game wraps around 3D models. So upgrading to higher-resolutions versions requires no 3D modeling. It's also fairly easy to extract the current textures from the PIGG files, change them to whatever you wish, and then place them in the override folder for the game to use. Tho you're the only one that will see the changes. The difficult part is figuring out the names of the textures you're looking for.
  5. Pet pathing problems have already been extensively documented.
  6. Depends what I'm doing. If it's something new or something I want to speed thru I'll keep the map open on the right side of the screen. Or if I'm looking for badges/plaques.
  7. It depends upon what you want to accomplish. Defenders have better debuffs while Corruptors do more damage. Ice is a good set with some nice controls.
  8. DFB (aka Death From Below), it's a bit too long, but the 4 different buffs you get (along with 2 badges) are worth the effort of doing it 4 times. They'll stay with you till level 22. DiB (aka Drowning in Blood) is another trial you can do starting at level 15. Like DFB it awards 4 different buffs and 2 badges. Those buffs stay with you till level 29. But they won't stack with the DFB buffs; they will replace them.
  9. Yeah, it's just not necessary. With the added difficulty settings I don't have any problems with them expanding the Incarnate system if they choose to do so. Since it's already fairly easy to make any AT godly and unkillable all the belly-aching and hand-wringing over power creep just isn't warranted. If you're already unkillable at the highest difficulty what does it matter if you're 20% more unkillable? On the flip side it gives those level 50s something to work towards and use up their surplus threads. It also provides an agnostic path to increased power that doesn't rely upon crafting expensive IO sets, which already heavily favors die-hard players over casual ones.
  10. Did you try the other things I suggested? CoH uses OpenGL, and an old version at that. It can be finicky. I used to crash fairly regularly until I figured out it was a memory issue in combination with having Chrome open. I upgraded from 16 GBs of RAM to 32 GBs not that long ago and not a single crash since. Ultra mode graphics trigger a pretty bad memory leak as well, so it's best to go no higher than one notch below Ultra.
  11. Run a video card stress test to ensure it's not the card. Don't use any ultra settings in the graphics options. Shut down other programs, especially your web browser, before playing.
  12. I would be happy to have access to some of their unique powers.
  13. You could have just unslotted the proc IOs.
  14. I did this with an AR/MC Blaster. He also has the Fighting, Concealment, and Presence pools. The only AR power he uses is M30 Grenade. All common IOs so far. Very enjoyable. I mean, he's never gonna do Blaster-level damage, but that doesn't mean he's not fun to play.
  15. I have stood right on top of critters with Stealth and they don't see me, tho things with increased perception like Rikti Drones will. Before the Concealment revamp Stealth was 35' and Invisibility was 55'. Now Stealth is 55', so it's equivalent to what Invisibility used to be.
  16. I put AD on auto and then click Hasten as necessary. I have also muted the "recharging" sound because it's annoying.
  17. Exactly what I am looking for, thanks!
  18. Not Traps LOL. Cold, Dark, Kinetics, Nature, Storm, and Time are all good. For an Epic go with Mace for more defense or Electricity for more damage.
  19. Thanks, but I was hoping to not have to cross-reference with an Oro mission guide to figure out exactly where all those missions are.
  20. I recently did a rebuild with Stealth. Will have to see if that helps being able to run in and drop stuff undetected. I think I have ~33-38% defense to all without any sets, which ain't bad. I have a BR/Temporal Blaster who is far more enjoyable to play. All the Traps powers should be ranged/targeted like Seeker Drones. But you're right, they're designed for a time when more strategy was needed to deal with tougher mobs. It's just not necessary now.
  21. This is where I'm at with my BR/Traps Corr. I'm finding Traps to be so utterly useless in 95% of normal content that all I'm doing is blasting and doing sub-par damage cause I'm not a Blaster. Seriously considering remaking her as a BR/Devices Blaster. I don't often run into a character I find so utterly frustrating to play (Claws/Regen Scrapper is another).
  22. On top of it giving defense that's 16-258% above the soft-cap?
  23. Has anyone compiled such a list?
  24. For me it depends upon how complex the build is. If it's just common IOs, yeah, I'll respec even at 50 (I have many many times logged in a dormant character and exclaimed "WTH was a thinking???") But if it's a full set-IO build that would require a significant amount of effort to respec I'm highly unlikely to do it unless they're somehow seriously broken and unplayable.
  25. 28-40% resistance to all damage types is nothing to sneeze at. I'm not sure what people expect from a T1 power. It's gonna be pretty basic no matter what.
