  1. I don't have Mids handy, but wouldn't the Hold from /Atomic be a better comparable, being from a Secondary instead of an APP? Assuming so, how does that comparison fare?
  2. Dude, so grateful for the help. Thanks so much! I'll pop this open in Mids at first opportunity.
  3. Hey, Thanks so much for taking another look. I could certainly look at getting those two additional LOTGs in there. I think she had Chilling Embrace 1-slotted back on Live. I can't recall from where I stripped those three slots, but getting 4 in there seemed enough to at least get started. If you're willing to do a complete reshuffle, I'm listening! I tend to eschew the "Proc Monster" mindset (like, I know guys who would happily slot Suppressive Fire with an Acc and 5 procs, but that's not my style). I don't need her to be softcapped, and I don't need to be able to solo +4/x8s. With that in mind, I'll gladly take a look at how to improve her performance. (Looking at her, for instance, she's lacking both ATO sets, so I could clearly put those somewhere.) Thanks again for your time, have a great day.
  4. So I managed to find the build I was working toward when I did this back in the day. I think I'd like to keep the powers I'm using as they are, but slotting and sets are totally open to reinterpretation. Love to see any feedback on this! 5. Please just give me 40 seconds to finish flash-frying this buffalo!
  6. Yes, the T1/T2 of the primary and the T1 of the secondary can all be used while under mez.
  7. Yeah, the plan is to run Cryo Ammo pretty much all the time (keeping with her ice theme, this is one of several characters of mine that all tie into a related story concept). TYVM for the tips on the power set! It's been ages since I used DP, so anything I ever knew is gone for now. Looking forward to re-making my acquaintance with the set. 🙂 Later on, Generator
  8. Even without being IO'ed to the gills, most Blaster sets have some kind of mez attack. Do unto others first! (I say this having played an Elec^3 blaster all the way back to original launch, having two holds available for proactive mitigation was extremely useful.)
  9. Y'know, every damn time, I forget that also has a KD proc in addition to the KB > KD part. Thanks for reminding me! 😁
  10. Remind me, Hot Feet is what, a slow? Which set has a Knockdown piece in it? TIA
  11. Hey guys, So I had a DP/Ice Blaster back in the day and I think it's time to get her going again. Anyone got a good "general starting point" build handy, or even just some general tips/advice on things that worked for you with this combo? (I'm away from my Mids PC right now, which is why I'm asking here instead of noodling around Mids myself.) Thanks, Generator
  12. Tell you what, when Siphon gets an optional animation, I'll reconsider it. Until then that power lands squarely in the "Annoys me too much to use it" pile. 🙂
  13. If the damage ticks pull their cancel-on-miss tricks, will that impact any debuffs that are applied? Like, if Reactive stops ticking its Fire DOT, will that stop the -Res from applying? Thanks very much for doing the math on this.
  14. Some of us just like it that way. And don't call me Shirley. 🙂
  15. Do you let radiation-themed Blasters and Melee characters tag along, or is the buff/debuff set the mandatory element? Hell these days you can field an entire team full of radiation-emitting characters, all doing different stuff.
  16. Whatever happens to electric armor, just don't try and take away my electromagnetic pulse. 😁
  17. I'm 95% sure I don't have Confront chosen anyway (I think I specified the attack powers above), so I'll tally you up as a vote for Slash, thanks!
  18. OK, so I'll quickly sum up here. I have an old build from the live era I was quite happy with, an Axe/EA Brute. I'm contemplating a reroll as a Broadsword Scrapper, and the plan is to stick to that original build just for simplicity's sake. I had enough power choices to take all the Axe attack powers but one. On the Axe guy, Gash was the one I skipped. On Broadsword, what one power would you leave off? (I just kind of wanted an informal poll, no need for a lengthy answer, just "Which would you leave on the bench?") Thanks, Generator
  19. Interesting. Now, does it matter which "sub-instance" (for lack of a better term for it) you are each in? To use your example, if you've done Matthew Hashaby's beginner arc and cleaned up the Hellions, but I haven't, will we see each other's team bars as greyed out? Will that situation resolve if I then run the arc in Flashback? (Just thinking out loud really, not expecting you to know this, but if anyone does, rock on!)
  20. I recall this guy doing his work form multiple ranges. I'm in to use Incinerate and Combustion, I'm back to use Breath, I'm blasting, I'm all over the damn place. Good point about the proc chance, I'll keep that in mind, thanks.
  21. Hey everyone, So I think it's finally time to relaunch my Fire^3 Dominator that I used to have back on Pinnacle. Of all of my dominators, he was the only one I built to actually go perma-Dom, and while I found that extremely busy to play (you had to juggle Hasten, Domination, and Ageless Destiny, and of course you can only auto one, and if I let those things get out of sync, everything kind of went to hell for a minute or so), it was a lot of fun. Before I go dig his build out an try and update it, I figured I'd ask about a few of the Fire Control powers. Bonfire: back in 2012 this never seemed particularly useful. But it strikes me that nowadays, a KB > KD piece makes this a lot more usable. Hot Feet: never used it, the Fear effect was too annoying. Not going to change tacks on this now. Fire Cages: in perusing some Controller and Dominator posts it seems like these days, the AOE Immobilizes are a popular place to put 5 pieces of the ATO set that summons the Orb (I think for Doms it's Dominating Grasp?). Fair enough. (As an aside, is there a consensus on which piece folks don't slot?) Apart from that, Char, and Flashfire, and Cinders, and Imps, and burn 'em all down, right? 😉 Any feedback on the three I mention above would be great. Thanks, and have a good day! Generator
  22. Hi, I don't know if this has been discussed before, but this weekend I went to recreate an old character who uses a black Chitin Helm with a yellow Tiger pattern, but the stripes don't show up on the helmet. Is this a known issue? Later.

  23. To piggyback off Trickshooter's comment up-thread, a lot of ATs need the "elemental" options to cover all bases. Like, Controllers and Doms need Electric mastery options, to name just one.
  24. Hey there, So I have a Rad^2 Brute on one server, and he's fun, and after a few months' time off, I'm contemplating trying a Tanker with those sets on another server. On the Brute, I had used Radiation Siphon, but was never crazy about it (mainly the fact that the animation was A: long, and B: kind of stupid-looking, in addition to C: my luck getting it to hit an proc on a Contaminated target when I needed it was touch and go). I'm planning on ditching it this time. Any particular reasons I should not? Thanks for your time. Later on, Generator
