Not... particularly. Even my English nerd self doesn't really get it. AFAIK Ms. is just the abbreviation for Miss. If you didn't write them out & instead just said it outloud, there'd be no difference. This might fly as just some copyright shenanigans, and obviously it works for CoX because there's no voice overs for dialogue, but in everyday conversations it'd be incredibly confusing. You can't copyright a name, but you can trademark it. And there is no similar trademark for Miss Liberty (I just checked...). I think it was just the creative juices of Cryptic. Maiden Justice was a hero in the 30's? and later became Statesman's wife. Their daughter became a hero, Miss Liberty. She married and their daughter took both parent's last names (Cole-Duncan). She later became Ms. Liberty. As for Ms., IIRC, everyone back in the long day ago (17th/18th century??) was either a Mister or Mistress. This only constituted gender not marital status...At some point (after 17th/18th century??) women were going by Miss or Mrs. to denote marital status. In the last century, due to the rise of divorce and changes in cultural mores about the "evils" of divorce...many women chose to take up Ms. to say - "It doesn't matter whether I am married or not" Probably not a wikipedia level definition...

As i said even waaaaay back on Live ... Trainers need to be given a high-magnitude but short-radius Repulsion effect. Literally, shove people out to just beyond the trainer's arms' length, creating a clear space for people to see and click on them. And to avoid having fliers crowd in from above and cover that clear space ... add in a double-radius high-magnitude -Fly effect. You want to train up? Stand a few feet away - or be put a few feet away. Problem solved. :) I don't know if that would really solve anything...You'd still all of those people with in a pretty tight space...A little bigger...instead of the circle around her being 2 ft across, it would 5 ft across...I am not sure what the "touch" distance is...but you have to be pretty close... EDIT: Just tested...14 ft is the maximum difference you can be to "touch" an NPC... -
Good point! I think there is a limit of 20K items in a base, and each piece of stored salvage counts toward it. So if I fill the rack with 100 pieces of unique salvage at 5 pieces each. That would be 500 pieces of salvage and 501 base items (including the rack). However if the OP is going more for look and feel over actual storage it might work. IDK if there is a hard limit on the # of racks itself.

What's wrong with Warshades?
justicebeliever replied to Robotech_Master's topic in General Discussion
Imagine thinking those are the only two things where team composition matters. Yikes. It literally doesn't matter. Bring all Defenders. Bring all Energy Blasters. Game's easy enough at any difficulty that isn't +4 that you can bring the most hair-brained team and still win. What really matters is whether the people behind those characters have their heads screwed on. This is how I feel too. Except on a whim I put together an all Blaster ITF last night, so it mattered then. Even then I felt bad turning down a Defender and later a Warshade for that team. Well said Juba, Munk, and Aerial...+1 for each of you -

No, they're being ignored by some people for being bad at joking around, there is a difference. As John Scalzi put it, "The failure state of 'clever' is 'asshole.'" Well put, +1 inf... -
Loitering Plea... how to contribute to easing traffic.
justicebeliever replied to EiricEPadraig's topic in General Discussion
Well I think that is the consensus for many of us. Or as was said, “just deal with it”. I think this thread has turned more into a QoL suggestion for the Dev's than anything else at this point. -
That's the point - one pool needs 2 power selections to bring it on par with 1 power from the other. It should take a second power to make a travel power go as fast as the "speed" travel power. And in practice, Flight + Afterburner is significantly faster than just Super Speed on its own. Like, my flying teammate gets to the mission door well ahead of me, with enough time to set up dancing emotes and whatnot. If I want to keep parity (not beat, but tie), I have to take something like Super Jump to deal with vertical obstacles. That's two powers from two different pools just to be functionally as fast as someone taking two powers from a single pool. Flight is fine. If anything, Super Speed needs a worthwhile capstone. But there is a practical challenge with SS that isn't with Flight/Afterburner, and that is it really requires a lot of paying attention to to avoid obstacles and navigate the many more turns you can face. If it went much faster it would be impossible for me to use...that's just me..

Well the other 50% of the time I see 2 instances available. I'm going to start always picking the higher one going forward. Maybe in your example the zone had just opened? I mean someone has to be first in a new instance, right? -
I love SS too, it gives a great stealth buff, and doesn’t require 3 powers to be useful (Hover, Fly, Afterburner). Because afterburner is truly useless in all ways except as a travel power. I've wondered if in place like Steel Canyon or something if Fly is truly faster (in Actual Speed, as Opposed to Spped Cap). SS can run along the ground (no need to go up or down) and doesn’t have to worry about avoiding mobs (Stealth), whereas Fly would require you to go above the mobs and then back down to the ground.
-
I mostly hover in maps, because I can leave it on during combat and get a defense boost. And Fly already too fast for me most of the time in closed map missions. I’d be fine if putting a Fly enhancement actually speeds it up without adjusting the base speed.

Enter Atlas. Walk to P2W, get stuff. Go to Sewers. Look at LFG for DFB. Run 2-4 times. Leave Atlas. 'Must Haves' are dictated by ones own delusion. If someone wants to talk themsleves into 'needing' something, then they have to come to terms with the fact they have to 'deal with' getting it, IMO. Trying to get everyone else to conform...not the plan I try to execute or follow. What you describe are just social/mental constraints players choose to place on themsleves, IMO. Like I said Jubakumbi, it depends on your playstyle. That's why I put “must haves” in quotes. And I started that same post saying people will never change the behavior...so I am not try to put constraints on anyone. Now as far as ‘deal with getting it’. I'm not sure what that means? If i want to get the badges, I have to deal with rubberbanding, and lag? What if it was happening repeatedly to people doing a Mission? Do they just need to deal with rubberbanding and lag that let's the Boss and half the mobs dealing defeats/debts that could otherwise be avoided? Of course not. We would say that lag/rubberbanding, cause by the game, not the Internet connection is something the Dev's ought to fix. That's the same here...Atlas Park is the single worst zone for lag and rubberbanding. It ought to be fixed. If the easiest fix is to reduce pop caps, fine. If it is power supression, fine. If it's something else, fine. But the answer shouln't be “deal with it”. It might be, you will have to live with it for a while. I know the Dev's are volunteers, and I am not demanding anything...An “ought to” is saying what I believe to be the right course of action, just like I think people “ought to” say please and thank you. I don't demand they do, but it is the appropriate thing to do inpolite company. -
Doesn't it already? My character and I went pocket D the other day and totally overdid it on Scotch. There was definitely a vomit power afterwards! Or it might be that I want to a bar, had too much Scotch, Uber'ed home, tried to play CoH and then I had the vomit power...it's a little fuzzy

I agree we will never get people to turn off their effects and pets. I know the behavior isn't intentional. I think the thread has morphed into suggestion some systemic solutions. As for avoiding Atlas, it’s hard to do depending how you play. If you like badges, then there are a lot of stops to make. Want the city hall day job? Only one place for it. Want to actually start the game? You've only got three choice, Praetoria, Rogue Isles, or Paragon (Atlas Park). Want to run low level missions? Atlas Park until you are at least level 5, and then you can go to the Hollows. Want to leave the Hollows before level 10? Tailor change before level 5? P2W vendor? I'm not trying to make fun MunkiLord, as I know you know these things. But there is a pretty long list of “must haves” from Atlas Park, and especially Atlas Plaza that can keep you in the zone until level 10 -
They can go into custom windows too, no? I figured they would be circular/rounded but wasn't sure if using the image overrode that setting. Thanks for the help though! That’s a good point...i don't know what a macroimage would look like in a custom window. It’d still have to be rounded, but would it stretch to fill the more oblong shape in a custom window? IDK

Lower the population cap of Atlas Park

1.) Requires a trip to the Monorail to switch...so a little complicated... There really should be a dropdown to select instance (like where the name is on the map). I'll suggest this. That would be helpful, seriously, but at least 50% of the time I play there is only one available map for Atlas Park, the rest are full. -
Or you could give Blondeshell some inf because she and Skele are both awesome badgehunters and documenters. And if you don't have VidiotMaps, you really should get it...Not having it would be like not putting enhancements on your powers VidiotMaps link

This community loves badges, and few more than Skele101. Here's the writeup on the new badges...the ones you are looking for are in this thread: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/topic,1395.0.html Be sure to give Skele some inf if it helps

I have 10 racks for my son's and I personal SG Base. Haven't done signage, because he hates to craft, so just gives me all his salvage. I have 2 racks dedicated to converters, one for booster, catalyst, and unslotters. I have 2 racks for common salvage (one for A to I and one for L to T, haven't seen salvage that start's with J,K, U-Z) , no more than 5 of each type in the racks, one for yellow (no more than 10 of each), and one for rare. That's 7 racks with room with 3 to spare. Not nearly on the same level as you. I don't really feel a need to have too much common or uncommon salvage, since it's so cheap to buy it. Now if they had recipe catalogs...

I was going to say something about this...the Warshades and Peacebringers, had the game stayed Live, would have all become refugees on our planet, because the Battalion was going to wipe out all other Kheldians... -

Well two challenges there... 1.) Requires a trip to the Monorail to switch...so a little complicated... 2.) I'm in Atlas Park 2, and I run to the choo choo train, and I get: Atlas Park - Full, Atlas Park 2, Atlas Park 3 - Full....Which one in this case do you recommend I go to?
