This list is exactly what you described - it shows the defence and rez for each mob, but not their location...

There is a command that can do it /insp_combine [source inspiration] [target inspiration] But given that there are 8 inspiration types, that would mean you need 7 commands. I’m not sure a macro can handle it (they can be temperamental sometimes) But if you wrote it, it would look something like this: /macro CAB insp_combine insight "catch a breath"$$insp_combine enrage "catch a breath"$$insp_combine luck "catch a breath"$$insp_combine respite "catch a breath"$$insp_combine sturdy "catch a breath"$$insp_combine "break free" "catch a breath"$$insp_combine awaken "catch a breath" If you were OK with a bind tied to a key as opposed to a macro button on the powers tray you could do this /bind [key] insp_combine insight "catch a breath"$$insp_combine enrage "catch a breath"$$insp_combine luck "catch a breath"$$insp_combine respite "catch a breath"$$insp_combine sturdy "catch a breath"$$insp_combine "break free" "catch a breath"$$insp_combine awaken "catch a breath" were [key] is any key you want...hope this helps...

I think you missed the implied point. Numbers are one of a number of causal factors in what makes something fun. They're the *only* causal factor, depending on how you look at it. All things exist in a measurable state. Colors exist on a scale that can be represented numerically, animation times and recharges are counted in seconds, resources and meters come in and are replenished in a finite quantities, etc. You could really just boil that down and say that fun is logically representable. As in, you don't even need numbers, what causes people to experience "fun" can be narrowed down to a fundamentally knowable state that one can simply measure with their senses. You can even condition people into *being* part of the knowable state, hence my mention of masochism. "Fun trumps all" as a response to numbers is not only a gross simplification, and an empty platitude... It's outright fallacious reasoning and creates a broken form of circular logic, which is utterly useless when trying to make informed decisions. You do realize that when you're creating a game you have to make objective determinations on things like fun, right? You do realize failing to do this is more or less paramount to creating a giant game of Calvin Ball, correct? If fun was entirely quantifiable, then everyone would find the same things fun. Fun is at it's core similar to artistic expression - you take the mechanics of things, and combine them in a way that causes delight or fails to generate that same response. What's great about this game is people can have fun in different ways. For some (like me) it's pretty abstract. I'm a superhero fighting villains. For others it's a chance to have a more immersive experience in Role Play, for others it's the team dynamics, and for others it is the numbers. But while the mechanics of the game incorporate all of this, what sparks fun is different for everyone. It may be that all things exist in a measurable state, but since not all things can yet be quantifiably measured it would be a fallacy to state that it is true. I've yet to see a "fun" scale that objectively measures fun in a repeatable, predictive fashion, so at this point it is not measurable. Some people don't even find CoH fun at all. And perhaps there is a certain "fun" that you get out of trying to poke holes in what someone else enjoys. Of course it's a game. Of course it has to have mechanics and rules. It's all 1's and 0's my good sir. And of course game designers have to code the mechanics based on what they think will appeal to the broadest swath of their target audience. So please don't be condescending. I'm quite certain that with Cryptic, and then NCSoft, even SCoRE, and now Homecoming, that any key changes are unit tested, not only against the code, but is it going to "feel" fun. Then the changes are integration tested, and beta tested. And I'm feeling pretty confident that if everyone said "Meh" then they would revisit their objective assumptions. So while fun is based on top (on top = trump) of the numbers, the numbers themselves aren't what is fun. What is fun is then left to the end user to decide for himself. So please, don't demean, belittle, or condescend to people who might find enjoyment from something that you don't just because they aren't using the same reasoning as you to determine their enjoyment

I have a couple of comments/questioms First, this is very clever and thorough! Are there really a lot of situations where you are unlikely to move forward in battle that made you add this to not just the W, but the a/d as well? Do people use A/D alot? I hardly do, most just some combination of Q/W or E/W...but maybe this was intentional? The only downside is that you will lose the ability to ever set auto-fire on any other power for any situation unless you are remaining still. I’m thinking fighting a fire in SC, blowing up a prison door or some other high hp target. For the latter it might not be difficult to stay still, but I wouldn’t want to lose the control to switch it up. Again, very thorough.

I love knockback. Tell us more

This right here is a problem. We shouldn't even be invoking Defenders in this conversation because not only are they the most redundant thing in the game damage wise, they exist entirely at an extreme towards team support, outdone by Corruptors in other regards- Both of which can make your *whole team* safe. If we're starting this far on the backfoot, that alone is worth having a thonk over. ... If you find that kind of thing fun, well... I don't, but I wont kinkshame your masochism, don't worry. But... This is totally my whole motto to the game.

I'm not nearly clever enough to evaluate if a set is underperforming (I use the "Fun" factor - and I think they are all fun), but I was curious just how many sets this thread felt were underperforming - I went through every post and added in each set that mentioned as underperforming AND the number of unique posters who "voted" for that set. Then I grouped the suggestions and compared it to the list of powers in Paragon Wiki (which I realize is missing the i25 powersets, but none of those were suggested as underperforming). Out of the 75 primary power sets listed on PW, this thread feels that 25 of them are underperforming (33%). That might seem like the right #, maybe not - I really don't know - just seems like a large percentage to me. I wont post again here, because I know I don't add value (and this was probably valueless) but since I did the work for my own curiosity I thought I'd share... Here's the breakdown (clearly Energy Melee is in need of some love) Blaster/Corrupter (5 suggested/13 total on PW) Dual Pistols Dark Blast Archery Assault Rifle Electrical Blast Controller/Dominator (2/10) Gravity Control Electric Control Defender (3/13) Force Fields - 3 Trick Arrow - 2 Empathy Mastermind (3/7) Mercenary - 2 Beast Master - 2 Ninjas Melee (7/21) Energy Melee - 9 Broadsword - 4 Battle Axe - 3 War Mace - 2 Dark Melee Katana Claws Tanker (5/11) Ice Armor - 3 Stone Armor Regen Invunerabilty Super Strength

This is a total threadjack. The subject of this post always trips up my little brain. I know that it's about MM secondaries for Thugs, but every time it comes up, my mind jumps to other answers What goes well with Thugs? Funny hats! What goes well with Thugs? Low IQ and a poor vocabulary! What goes well with Thugs? A nice Chianti and some fava beans! That's all. End Threadjack...

Which server, and does it matter?
justicebeliever replied to Blackbird71's topic in General Discussion
If you have not experienced an issue, what's the problem? Anecdotal stories from others are not something I personally use to make my choices in life. :) On the other servers, there are plenty of players that will assume all sorts of things about how you should be playing. :) This. There are so many ways a team can go south, beyond the RP expectations. People might tell you how to play your character. People might be very strict on tactics to point its not fun, or so lax y'all clean the floor with your faces alot. There are a hundred ways for people to be a dick, and sadly in some cases the mob mentality wins and it's a bust. But that's all the servers, and that's the exception not the rule. Most team ups are nice people who just want to "destroy pixels", as my estemeed colleague who I've quoted says and actually aren't overly talkative or rude. I'd be happy to team any time -

Is there a way to save all options to local file?

I'm not sure I understand the question..Can you rephrase? -
Is there a way to save all options to local file?
justicebeliever replied to Papaschtroumpf's topic in General Discussion
So the settings that are computer specific are the same settings that are controlled by the "Settings" button on the sign-in screen (Resolution, Graphics Quality, Sounds - basically the hardware related settings) I did discover this based on your comment: https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Wdw_save_(Slash_Command) Windows settings are server side settings, meaning that Window Scale and arrangement will be the same no matter which PC you log with, even though the Graphics are local settings. Using the Wdw save you can save the Windows scaling options from one character and load them into another, but again these changes will be server side, not local. Does this help/make sense? -
Actually I would..for me it would be part of the fun. It's honestly less fun just deleting it yourself...there's a tension and stress that comes when there are elements that are out of your control, it just doesn't generate the same level of excitement. Not sure why people seem hostile...I know that in the past of MMOs there were a lot of people that wanted to force permadeath or a hardcore experience on everyone, but I wouldn't want it forced on anyone else, and this is nothing to do with PvP...but people do seem to get their backs up a lot over this issue even just being talked about. It's kind of like the difference between real life skydiving and doing it virtually. Nothing wrong with either one, but they're two different experiences. Anyhow, mostly I was just curious if it was even something that was possible from a technical point. Now that private servers are a thing, I think it might be fun if people made servers that suit different tastes. I think what Coyotedancer was refering to is that if your system crashes, or your online session crashes, your character is still logged in for a few minutes with no one steering the ship. If you were just seconds away from hitting your goal, and then an actual power failure happens, you might be pretty mad that the character you were going to get to lvl 50 without dying, the character you had spent 24 actual in-game hours on, was gone. You might have been clear, but I wanted to be sure Regardless, like Eggkookoo said, there isn't really hostility in this thread (and believe me, we have many threads with hostility), it's just that the majority of this community doesn't see the value in: 1.) Spending volunteer development time to code the solution you are looking for 2.) Incurring additional hard costs in spinning up a separate server for this experience 3.) Maintaining 2 separate codebases going forward (makes it difficult to make improvements if you have to double code and double test everything) That's not saying we hate your idea, just don't see the value in it. But here's the cool thing - the code is out there. If you are truly excited about this idea, and you know like-minded people, there is nothing stopping you from starting your own private server and making those changes. Hope this helps with perspective...keep making suggestions

IO are Invention Origin enhancements. There are a variety of different types of enhancements you get in the game For more details on what all the different types are, I would check this out - https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Enhancements For some guides from the forums - here are a couple that may apply to lower level characters. If you like the guides, be sure to give the original poster of the guide some Inf. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/topic,2344.0.html https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/topic,3042.0.html There are some definite experts who like have more for you as well, but hopefully this will get you started. Welcome, to beautiful Paragon City

Perhaps you'll indulge me, and provide some additional detail? Which specific options/binds are you editing/doing, and how are you saving/loading them?

Character Transfers between Unrelated Servers
justicebeliever replied to Yeoman's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
My single biggest reason not to do it - once all the eggs are in one basket, it makes it very easy for NCSoft to target the central character database with a cease&desist, and ALL participating servers lose access to their characters... The more fragmented the community, the more work it would be for NCSoft to come after us, and makes it less likely they will do so... -
Awesome - just downloaded it - thank you so much...+1 Inf

They probably could, but I think the intention of doing it this way is to ensure that they're taking in only what they need to cover the operating costs, removing the "making money off of our IP without our permission" violation that would give NCsoft the excuse to sue for damages, rather than just issue cease&desist letters, if they decide they need to make an example of the people operating the rogue CoH servers. I know HC said they were looking into this, but I hope they avoid for the reasons you just gave srmalloy. Right now, they asking about 7K/mos to manage expenses - no payroll at this point. That's 84K a year. A fairly big sum, but again, it's just paying the costs of hardware and hosting mostly, the bare minimum anyone needs to run a private server. Imagine if they had a subscription. I scanned the forums, and there are at least 1200 ppl who posted at least 5 or more times in the forum. That indicates a pretty high level of passion for the game. Now imagine all of them donate $25/mos (remember, they had 300 donors in one HOUR last time). That $365K a year (4 times as much). HC starts to pay salaries to get development work and it likes people are earning an income of this game. Now let's imagine that just 10% of the game base offers something smaller, like $10/mos. 100K players x 10% = 10K players * $10/mos * 12 mos = $1.2M a year. Now that's some serious revenue. Now NCSoft is bound to notice the real money making happening out there. As soon as HC sets up a subscriber model, they are putting themselves closer to being in the crosshairs...

I don't think permadeath is even possible in superhero comic books. Everyone comes back somehow; either they didn't actually die, were saved by technology/magic/other power, return as an evil twin or doppelganger from another universe/dimension, etc. Really, the only superheroes who face permadeath are the ones whose comics sell so poorly that they get cancelled, and even then it's not guaranteed that they won't be back in a revival or show up as part of a group serial or something. Now come on, that's not fair. Some characters stay dead...Like Bucky...if you are Bucky-dead, you are really, really dead. I mean even in the coldest Winter, you'd never Soldier back to the land of the living. And Barry Allen, he died a massive heroic death in Crisis...and Hal Jordan - didn't even he go to the great unknown never to be seen again. Sometimes, in comics, dead is dead :P

Is there a way to save all options to local file?
justicebeliever replied to Papaschtroumpf's topic in General Discussion
Thanks Fifth Horseman, you pointed out that I did not read this thread as closely as I should have... You videos settings are already computer specific. If you are seeing your resolution get wonky sometimes, that's a technical issue, not an options issue. FWIW, I have not yet had this issue and I use a custom resolution. The other options you mentioned are character specific, and the solution I gave you will allow you to load those custom options on any new character (Inverted Mouse and Pet Window are definitely in the options file that you can save/load. -
Tanker love (hoping for a GM reply)
justicebeliever replied to Moosejaw's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I will. They made a bad choice in shutting the game down, IMHO, but I vehemently oppose the concept of name-calling, in ANY instance. We are better than that. As for the idea.... I have no opinion. I just had to comment on that mean comment. I'll echo PK. The game would not exist without NCSoft, so the fact that you have something to suggest is a testament to their greatness. Was every decision awesome and perfect? No. Were many of their decisions solving one problem that created another? Yes. That's not stupidity, that's RL in game design Second, this thread will no doubt get locked soon (your GM response), but only because this other thread already has this exact conversation, with Dev responses... ank passive/aggro changes EDIT: I want to say, I don't have an opinion, so I am not trying to invalidate your thoughts on Tank Aggro...just makes it difficult for the community to have a conversation if it's in 3 different places...Please post to the thread I linked GM's can we close this duplicate thread please? -
I would love a resource like this. Some mobs can only be found at certain times in certain zones. Vidiotmaps is helpful if you already know the right zone, but that's often difficult for my old brain to remember
