  1. This is the downside to having 2 different threads in the same issue. Check out the Dev response in this thread on the exact same thing: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/topic,5091.msg40553.html#msg40553
  2. It’s not a mod (3rd party app), but rather customization option built into the game. Here’s the Link - https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/topic,1471.msg35114.html#msg35114 So with this link it is actually easier to save your macros then your binds, because you don’t even have to remember to load a file. That said, here’s the pro’s and con’s as I see them: Binds: Better for keyboard access Easy to edit a bind file in notepad Handles multiple commands in a single bind better (macro’s just don’t behave as well, not sure why) Supports muliple bind files in a single bind (huge plus) Macros: Using customwindow loads automatically into new character allows whole words in icon always in sync when changes are made potential con: another window taking up real estate, but with higher screen resolutions this is less an issue (unless you have bad eyes like me and can’t play at higher resolution Mouse friendly Visual reminders of where that function is (with Binds you just have to remember what the keybind is) So for me, it’s just about a wash. I use both because there are only so many keybinds I can remember, so I supplement the rest with Macros
  3. A thread elsewhere has answered this in a way. "Mids has asked that this work NOT become open source..." is the sum of it. So unless a from scratch project is what you're doing, then it's probably going to get some flack. I don't want the following to sound like I'm being a d**k, but here goes. How thoroughly are any of us bound by that? He doesn't want it that way, I get that, and for 10+ years he got things his way, but nothing lasts forever. If the code went open source, would there be any repercussions besides "Original Mids is pissed?" Well if Mids is the original author of the code, then technically he is the owner (copyright holder) of his work. He gets to determine if others get to use his software and how they get to use it. So it can’t legally go open source unless he wills it
  4. Apparently it worked the same in Live according to the developers and they are reusing the same code
  5. /bind [key] “beginchat /sg [global handle] ” Have to hardcode the global handle, and you want to leave the space at the end so you can just start typing
  6. If you’ve already tried what I posted above (you have to use the link in that post) and still have issues, I recommend a support ticket. But I am pretty sure if you follow what I provided you won’t have an issue Support Ticket link if needed: https://support.homecomingservers.com/
  7. This just gave me a great belly laugh - my family is asking what’s so funny. I’ll trade you +1 inf for video
  8. That seems believable, how do i help? Oh rats, apparently the IRS is calling telling me there was a problem with my return +1 inf
  9. Thanks for proving my point. <3 Oh...you’ve definitely proven delusion. I think I’m done posting on this, it’s pretty off-topic. Have fun! Bye-Bye
  10. That’s right, macro’s can’t use the cool down timer. Not sure how that would work since you can have several powers in a macro (I mean they won’t all work, but you can still build it with them)
  11. Quotes are optional - i love this!
  12. It’s like a circus of crime! +1 for new powersets!
  13. You are welcome to think that, it is after all an era of delusion.
  14. I would love to see some high level roadmap of ideas, but I know documents like those become a total albatross around the neck of development team, so as much as I would love to see one, it would be the single worst idea that you can do to a forum community, because everybody will be mad - those whose ideas aren't in the roadmap get angry, and when ideas in the roadmap get delayed (as inevitably happens), those people get angry I agree with Jack - they have done a lot in the last 6 years, so as far as what's doable - it's anything. And jubakumbi has been talking with me about how the community in this case can also get involved...If there is something you have the skills to do, then you should let them know what you are passionate about and then the ability for HC to make change can only grow. (Don't tell jubakumbi this though, he'll never let me live it down)
  15. I love that you guys (GM’s) have as tips and tricks +1 Inf
  16. I'd say QFT, but for brevity's sake I did not quote you. However, I really, really dig your style on this. Great affirmation of how teaming can be fun when you don't try to fit it into cookie cutter shapes... +1 Inf
  17. I knew I had heard something to, but couldn't put my finger on it...+1 Inf Trickshooter From the i25 patch notes - https://docs.google.com/document/d/11cLJiSYlfueJheOumRywG8Evip2Mjmu_30Y6ePaetqY Rikti, Zombie and Nemesis Invasions won't spawn critters on characters with a combat level of 25 or lower.
  18. Something like this? If you like it please give Almafeta some Inf! Ouroboros Flashback Badge Guide
  19. It does work with the MID's files...I was pleasantly surprised to see that last night...
  20. I feel that! I used to have a lot of the zones memorized and knew exactly where to go for all the exploration badges without even having to look at the map. Now I'm as lost and confused as a hungry baby at a topless bar. Wow, that bar has crappy bouncers... "Does he seem underage to you?" "I think he just has a babyface, but I'm sure he's 21. Go on in kid" +1 for the chuckle...
  21. A paid subscription model should not be in the future for HC unless they work it out with NCSoft first, or I think the odds of NCSoft shutting us down goes from possible to very/immediately probable. I'd be curious if this is a project that someone with the passion and coding skills to do it would lend their support to HC. But I do agree, it will take time
  22. I think you are taking the Roleplaying very seriously... And it's causing you to push others away because they aren't as serious... That's 100% your choice, but I feel bad for the other player who did his best to make a character that sounded fun to him and was criticized for not being accurate enough...
  23. Healix has a great post for this - be sure to give her Inf! https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/topic,3976.msg28834.html#msg28834
  24. Here's some posts to help you out https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/topic,3749.msg26871.html#msg26871 https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php?topic=3673.0 https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/topic,4720.0.html
  25. You are not factoring in the person having the experience as part of the total picture. You're only describing one half of the equation, and you're getting bad results because of this. I deal with post-modernists on a regular basis, dude. I'm not going to miss something this basic, it's a mistake they make CONSTANTLY because they have absolutely no respect for a reality existing independent of their perception. This includes, most specifically, their existence, as exists separate from their own perception. But life experiences aren't measurable either...so I'm unclear as to your point. And we all deal with post-modernists on a regular basis unless you are in a retirement home. I'm 47 and I'm a post-modernist. This is the post-modern era. And I'm not going to debate reality/perception on this thread, since that is way, way off topic, but I am also certain that the post-modern creators/stewards of CoH do not regularly have these debates either when designing game mechanics, so any debate on the topic would be irrelevant to this discussion, the OP's favorite build or the relationship between fun and numbers.
