  1. Well flash arrow gives a nice perception debuff if you have use for it, I could see an Ill/TA not needing the perception debuff due to Superior Invis. The tohitdebuff is nice given that half of it ignores resistance, so you only have to worry about half of the debuffs getting resisted. Now if you're solo and already have stacked enough defense to floor your targets chance to hit, it's less needed. So depending on an individual's build and playstyle the need of flash arrow is not always required. That said I have 4 trick arrow toons as I love the set, and I typically take it, even though I usually softcap my defenses, I pug a lot so I figure my single serving teammates might benefit from the tohitdebuff/perception debuff more than me.
  2. Here's City of Data on the power. Half the regen buff ignores enhancements the other is enhanceable so that's why you see two lines for it. Stacking is per caster and replaces the existing effect. Each of the regen buffs are 112.5% of the base, so that's why you see .47/sec times two. Your end bonus shows a base 1.67 end/sec, so the end bonus of touch of the beyond is 50% of the base but you can enhance the end aspect. Based on your numbers in combat attributes, your getting a 97.6% end bonus on touch of the beyond, so you have it slotted with endurance enhancements, but not health enhancements. The tooltip numbers seem off. https://cod.uberguy.net/html/power.html?power=blaster_support.darkness_manipulation.touch_of_fear&at=blaster
  3. Well I ran a build for a tank, brute, and scrapper. Truth be told I was leaning tank from the start, but wanted to be fair. I did settle on the tank as I'm going to play with defensive SLENFC softcaps (damn the def reduction to EA, makes getting FC to softcap require three sets of WIOs, SLEN end up being slightly over incarnate softcap). Max HP with Hoarfrost and just under 1300 absorb, 40% recharge slow (32 from chilling embrace, and another 8 from 1 spines attack, so conceivably more), 21.45% tohitdebuff with darkest night to stack on top of my defenses, should help when fighting toxic/psi, 44% damage debuff between chilling embrace and darkest night, sure it will get resisted but still a decent value. So yes Yomo might think its a double cheat code, but: iddqd, idkfa. Thanks everyone. I really appreciate the feedback.
  4. Here's a teaser of what's being worked on right now, with an anticipated completion date of mid December 2023... You heard it here first....
  5. So I'm thinking of pairing spines with ice armor, and incorporating foldspace into the mix. I have lots of experience with each set on multiple ATs, but I have never combined the two. I don't need a build as I can make them myself, but what I am looking for is your thoughts on which AT you would do it on if you were to do so yourself. I'm least likely to pick stalker despite loving stalkers, as I feel mixing quills, icicles , chilling Embrace, and pulling mobs in with foldspace would be really interesting. I'm leaning more towards tanker/brute, but I like icy bastion better than hibernate so scrapper is in the mix too. If I were to go tanker/brute I'd likely grab soul mastery for darkest night. If I were to go scrapper or stalker I'm more flexible (maybe leviathan for waterspout or blaze for melt armor, shadow meld is nice but I'll build this toon to defense cap SLENFC, so it's use would be limited). So which AT would you all pick? As always thanks.
  6. As a guy that's tried a solo hami run back in the day, my experience shows that the public won't let you complete it. They stayed at the safe rock until I had cleared a few mitos and then swarmed in looking to get in on that HO HO HO action.
  7. From a lore perspective, I have a character named Hitpoint that mops the floor with Tyrant, and that's the reason Praetoria hasn't been in a continuous invasion since Statesman died, and that Recluse has largely stay on his side of the playground.
  8. @Luminarathis is pretty interesting. I wonder why Brutes/Scrappers/Stalkers have a slightly higher Melee_Debuff_Dam compared to Tankers. I think it would make more sense to have it be uniform and adjust via the AT scalars. Anyways at the end of the day a 1% difference is pretty minor.
  9. I'm confused then because Tankers Darkest Night debuffs damage by 30% and Brutes Darkest Night debuffs damage by 21%. And Kinetic Melee's Quick strike debuffs damage by 7% on a tank and 6.375% on a Brute, 5.625% on a Scrapper/Stalker. So if there is a formulaic relationship between the ATs and damage debuff, something seems a miss. Then again I haven't had a lot of time to really dig into it.
  10. I was doing a little research contemplating a new alt and I found some inconsistencies with Chilling Embrace. Chilling Embrace is a PBAoE toggle debuff that slows the movement speed, jump height, recharge and reduces the damage of affected mobs. It is found on Tankers, Brutes, Scrappers, Stalkers, and Dominators (mind you the domi version also incorporates a damage aura into the power instead of the maximum movement speed debuff). Please note that Tankers were the first AT with Ice Armor, and that it was proliferated to other ATs Tankers Chilling Embrace does: -56% JumpHeight Strength for 5s -32% RechargeTime Strength for 5s -56% RunningSpeed, FlyingSpeed, JumpingSpeed for 5s -14% Damage (All) Strength -350% maximum RunningSpeed for 5s (critters only) 10-foot radius/10 mob target cap (before gauntlet) 0.13 endurance (0.26 end/s) Brutes/Scrappers/Stalkers Chilling Embrace does: -56% JumpHeight Strength for 5s -32% RechargeTime Strength for 5s -56% RunningSpeed, FlyingSpeed, JumpingSpeed for 5s -15% Damage (All) Strength -350% maximum RunningSpeed for 5s (critters only) 10-foot radius/10 mob target cap 0.13 endurance (0.26 end/s) Dominators Chilling Embrace does: -40% JumpHeight Strength for 5s -40% RechargeTime Strength for 5s -40% RunningSpeed, FlyingSpeed, JumpingSpeed for 5s -10% Damage (All) Strength 8.1747 points of Cold damage 15-foot radius/10 mob target cap 0.52 endurance (0.26 end/s) Since Dominators are a CC/Assault set I'm leaning towards giving Domis a pass (the minor damage on domi's version helps with Domination), and looking at focusing on the four melee ATs. Why do Brutes, Scrappers, and Stalkers have more damage reduction than Tankers? Ice armor on all three of those ATs is a secondary power pool and not a primary pool like on Tankers, yet the Tankers' version is weaker? That doesn't make sense to me. I'm not advocating whether it's better to increase Tankers Chilling Embrace, or lower the others as that's not my place. I just wanted to point out the perceived bug relative to what the power does on each AT. Personally I think Tankers' version of Chilling Embrace should be better than Brutes, Scrappers, and Stalkers due to it being a primary power. What do you all think?
  11. Honestly I never had more fun in the game than when I was actively all about PvP. But that was most likely due to my team shooting the shit over TS/Vent at the time and laughing way too much at Chappelle Show skits. That team was so close we all had each other's logins and would often surprise each other so the next time you'd login there might be a new lvl 50 PvP toon complete with an 8-12 billion inf build. For PvE I really like the Red and Gold side aspects of the game as often the mission story writing is better than blue, but it can often be difficult recruiting for a team, especially gold side (because the way it's designed if you team you'll likely out level your contacts, so you might have to freeze your XP if running contacts to completion is a big thing to you). I hate stuff like newspapers or radios, and get so bored of Council it's not funny. I like to lead teams of lesser ran content, like the other day I was leading a PUG through Serpent Drummer's arc, and someone whispered to me "I didn't know they had missions here, I thought it was just MSR, Apex and Tin Mage". Other areas I like to run is bringing people out to the Shadow Shard, pretty much anytime I run missions out there it's someone's first time even going to the Shadow Shard. Also Cimerora has great missions, besides the ITF.
  12. @Snarky here's your vampire approved set list "Not Meant for Me" "Forsaken" "System" "Redeemer" "Slept So Long" All written by Jonathan Davis of Korn and Richard Gibbs as originals for the Queen of the Damned film from 2002. Just watch out for the +4 Synapse TF lurking out there because I here that version of the Clockwork King can be very draining.
  13. Oh the days of Unyielding rooting you in place, forcing all of us early Invuln tanks to use teleport, or detoggle our mez protection to run around. But from my understanding Jack wasn't exactly well liked by the rest of the Development team, if I remember correctly I think someone made mention of him being a micro manager. That said when Striga Isle was introduced he did play his signature Statesman toon on a Hess TF on Guardian back in the day. People were flooding the zone to try and see him and get a screenshot.
  14. Well, Ghost Widow isn't inherently evil, she's just bound to Recluse. If you haven't played her full patron arc, it's really worth the play.
  15. I did send a soup recipe instead. I figured it gives @Yomo Kimyata and family a full belly of they make it.
  16. Yes and no. Caps are different, so if you're not necessarily min-maxing, I guess. ATOs are also different. Brutes have Taunt, Scrappers have Confront. You'll likely want to change the slotting based on hitting your individual goals for the character though as well.
  17. Seems like overkill on rad armor to me. I play a SS/Rad Brute that built for res and slow resistance, and I typically don't have any issue with endurance or health.
  18. I don't really need props, I get enough of those when I'm working on a theatre production. Jokes aside, Tanker Tuesday is a fun event, it just happens to be before my 1 year old goes to bed, so I've only gotten the chance to go like once in the last year or so.
  19. Well I think my post woke him up. I honestly thought about tagging the both of you on it.
  20. I'd take both to be honest, -15% res stacks with the -11.25% res of force bomb. Dampening Bubble not only helps you out, but has a substantial debuff to enemies tohit. Unslotted, that's like making any enemy standing in the dampening Bubble need to overcome 25.95% defense to hit you. Tohitdebuffs are great, although they do get affected by the purple patch and some mobs have resistance to tohitdebiffa.
  21. Kheldians in human form are similar to Sentinels, except they don't get mez protection. You can kinda use punch/cross punch/(havoc punch from electric mastery, smite/engulfing darkness from dark mastery, or midnight grasp from soul mastery) to give you some of melee attacks as well.
  22. Solid at tanking is pretty ambiguous. What are you tanking? Are you aiming for any particular content? What about difficulty level? Are you using it for hard mode content, up to one, two, three, four stars? What kind of power pools are you looking for, what about travel power, and incarnate choices? Dark armor is a fairly strong resistance based armor set that adds utility with stealth, stun, and fear. There's quite a few ways to build it. Spines is a lethal damage with a bit toxic damage set that gives an extra PBAoE damage aura, and adds more range than typically found in a melee set with impale and throw spines. There's a bunch of us with experience with each set. I've personally played both together on a scrapper, but on a tanker you have higher HP/res caps at the cost of criticals. I'd suggest using mids, and taking a stab at putting your own build together, discussing your build goals and must have power choices, and asking for targeted assistance to help you hit your build goals. I can help you out, but I want you to actually put effort in to help you learn the justification for which IOs/powers your choosing so that it will ultimately make you a better player than just slotting out someone else's build and trying to figure it out.
  23. I'll be honest...no videogame, no matter which one, has really made be a better person. That said I've absolutely been sucked in by several of them over the course of the past 40 or so years that I'd argue have had a negative detriment to my life. I think in my older age I've found a reasonable balance though with gaming so it's not my soul encompassing raison d'etre. The life experiences I've had along the way have made me be a better person. At it's height though during the live run of the game, CoH did make me some extra income, which helped me take an international vacation, and buy a vehicle. So maybe in that regard despite the activity I was engaged in at the time, might of helped me on my path to be a better person in real life by enabling me to get to work and actually have a vacation.
  24. I enjoy my psi/SD scrapper.
