Honestly EM/Bio is a great pairing. I personally play it as a Stalker myself. But I also have Bio Armor on Tankers, Brutes, and Scrappers. I think survivability they can all be made fairly resilient. EM is a great set overall as well. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with this pairing.

A lot of us proc slot Rad Therapy and Ground Zero for damage procs. It's like having 2 mini nukes. It makes for some satisfying damage.

You get slow res based on Fallout Shelter, Winter's Gift 20% unique, and then as a 2/3 set combo for various winter sets. I don't have your build up in mids as I'm at work stuck in a 3 hour webinar. Have you considered using Melee Core, Meltdown, Rune as a rotation? That way you won't need to slot for 90% res, but close to, and then make up the difference running one of those toggles. That might give you some more slotting freedom. Also given how much recovery rad armor gets... what's the point of conserve power and physical perfection? I don't think you'll get much ROI on those. You could look at Focused Acc at least imo. What incarnates are you looking at slotting?

I second the suggestion to check them out on the beta server. That said, the human form abilities of Peacebringers and Warshades differs greatly. Peacebringers combine some ranged blasts, melee strikes, hp boost/self heal and heal other, a buildup and a nuke. They work fairly self sufficient. Warshades on the other hand are a meat grinder. They have more controll esque abilities, blasts, and need for density of mobs. Both ATs benefit from building for Recharge to Perma light form or eclipse. I've played multiple Peacebringers and Warshades as human only, biform, triform, you name it. Kheldians are my favorite concept design in the game, although if you you I've argued for some AT improvements (thanks devs for suppression btw, now we just need mez protection in human and an increased damage cap). I personally like Warshades better than Peacebringers because they are more complicated both from a story perspective and playstyle perspective. Best of luck building your character.

Ripper. Jump kick. There's a couple more out there that I can't remember off the top of my head. Check claws, as I think one of those attacks flips.

I would build towards having 100% slow res. That really helps ensure that particle shielding, rad therapy, and ground zero don't get their recharge debuffed. I wouldn't have Might of the Tanker in Ground Zero as that +res can be stacked if you put it on a faster recharging attack. Also your defense that your stacking has no DDR to protect it from being debuffed to nothing. You could take Aegis Radial for some degree of DDR if you wanted. I personally build rad armor to hard cap as many resistances as I can on Tanker/Brute, build for 100% slow res, and build a decent amount of recharge into the build. That's sufficient in my experience to solo most +4 content in the game. This allows you to also ramp up your offense to help solo AVs. I've tried to do the Res/Def, but I found the def was just getting debuffed off so I tried to get better ROI for my slotting. It's ultimately up to you how you want to build it though as it's your toon.

Storm/Storm build. Looking to improve defence especially ranged.

How far have you taken it? -
Storm/Storm build. Looking to improve defence especially ranged.
SeraphimKensai replied to BurtHutt's topic in Corruptor
Thoughts between corruptor vs defender? I only spent a minor amount of time checking out storm blast as it went through testing. Now that it's live I figured I'd roll one. Just debating mostly internally about whether to go defender or corruptor with it. What do you all think? -
Staff Fighting Stalker: Secondary Suggestion?
SeraphimKensai replied to BuiltDifferent5's topic in Stalker
That's because a well built/slotted energy aura stalker can be made to have nigh incarnate level typed defensive softcaps to a majority of the incoming damage you'll commonly see in the game. @Bopper has a zero point energy em/energy aura stalker build out here on the forums that you can see what I'm talking about if you search for it. That said although playing a toon like that is fun (I have a similarly built EM/EnAura stalker with a few differences that has similar defense values), it potentially could be defensive overkill if you wanted a more offensive based secondary to pair with Staff. Another option to consider is a Radiation Armor stalker for an offensive armor base. With that powerset you can proc bomb out Radiation Therapy and Ground Zero for a couple of pbaoe mini nukes and meltdown gives an increase in damage while it's up as well. You can cycle things like Meltdown, Rune of Protection, and Melee Hybrid to ensure your resistances are capped as well. Factoring in hide and barrier, you can largely control when you engage mobs as well so you can be very sturdy as well. -
I skimmed through this so I may have missed it. But you can typically build out a toon on the test server max it's level, give yourself IOs and plug and play to see if a build and playstyle work for you. Then you can start building that character on the actual production servers. The value of the test server is often overlooked quite a bit by newer players, or players that don't engage on the forums.

This should be moved to Suggestions and Feedback. That said there's been similar requests over the years. I'd suggest rather than just listing the thematic name for each proposed ancillary, come up with individual powers for each that are balanced around the other existing sets for each AT.

I have a FF/Dark/Soul with clarion radial. It works extremely well for its intended purpose but I find it a little boring to be honest. It's definitely more fun now that FF was revamped.

Staff Fighting Stalker: Secondary Suggestion?
SeraphimKensai replied to BuiltDifferent5's topic in Stalker
At the end of the day, its a stalker so its still doing reasonable melee damage. Other sets can come out ahead in damage, but staff is still playable. -
Staff Fighting Stalker: Secondary Suggestion?
SeraphimKensai replied to BuiltDifferent5's topic in Stalker
I play a bio/staff tanker and that's a great combo. Otherwise I have a staff/Invuln stalker and it might as well be a tanker because I don't think it's ever died. Either way you go they both work well. -
I mained an empath for years. I didn't need people to call out mezzes because they weren't mezzed. I kept up with CM to all and Forts on those that would get the most benefit. That said I haven't seen many calls for bio breaks, so maybe that also fell out of favor (but then again we aren't doing an 8 hour Dr. Q TF anymore).

I have no qualms about playing with double stacked rage in regular content. That's +160% damage and +40% tohit. It's easy enough to manage the rage crash for that kind of benefit in my opinion. Most people I've talked to over the years enjoy Super Strength and I can't think of anyone in particular that actively skips Rage.

Stone Armor on a scrapper usually works by stacking defense for S/L/E/N/P and getting res for F/C/T. Additionally you can get some slow res and recharge and then rock Earth's Embrace to top off HP as needed. You shouldn't need to go out of your way to stack S/L resistance. And also with Shadow Meld you can have that up reasonably 50% of the time fairly easily for ~20% defense to all. Regarding AoE, you can get Tremor down to a ~4 second cool down which should be a low enough recharge to supplement a single target rotation including Seismic Smash, and your mallets.

Is 45% S/L defense still worth it for ranged ATs?
SeraphimKensai replied to Tankshock's topic in General Discussion
If you're planning on playing primarily against mobs that only do S&L then sure, however that would leave you fairly exposed to other types of damage of you do other content. You can usually get SLE up pretty reasonably high. Just remember that any defense debuffers may affect your survivability (as I'm assuming your coming from an AT powerset combo with no native DDR). Ageless Radial could be beneficial for giving you DDR if your build allows. -
1. That pairing does have decent debuff potential. Although for a sheer debuff perspective a TA/Sonic Defender would work better. The Corruptor does more damage as compensation. 2. No idea, maybe message the person who's build your using to see if they've updated their work or open mids and use their work as a basis and make your own update? 3. Define endgame content. Most trials will take anyone as long as they have their incarnate powers slotted, Hami you can show up to a public raid, same for MSR. Dark Astoria content can be ran at a difficulty that works for you. You could form a hard mode TF yourself and bring anything or join a pug one that is open to your pairing.

<Entering Pedantic Mode> I stated "Rage always has a crash even if you perma it", not "Rage always has had a crash even if you perma it". My statement deals with the present, where the latter statement encompasses the past and present. </Returning To Sleep Mode>

Homecoming player count: a year in review
SeraphimKensai replied to macskull's topic in General Discussion
This is amazing. Good work Mac. I love me some statistics. -
You can actually triple stack rage. I've done it in Hami raids where you get a lot of external recharge buffs as well. It doesn't last long at 3x, like 10 seconds or so. Rage always has a crash even if you perma it. Most of us actually build enough recharge to run it double stacked for a significant uptime. The HC devs floated a rage patch a few years ago that would make it not have a crash at one stack, but a lot of players at the time complained about the change when it was on open beta and it was reverted and hasn't been revisited yet.

Define fix. The -defense is negligible because it's a resistance based. The -end is quickly recovered by Power Sink. Nothing is going to stop the -damage, but you can skate around that with temp powers judgement, and proc slotting.
