  1. Fullscreen and it still happened. I did some crafting and going to my base fine. Ran an AE mission and crashed on the exit. Note this happens outside of AE. Laptop specs: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05165205
  2. I just wonder if I can tolerate it long enough to see it bloom and if it does in a way which works for me. It feel like more than ever I need to wait until a build is 50 to decide if it is worth keeping versus 20-30. I'll do some more teams if I can get a current graphic issue fixed. My Claws/wp doing the same content was far smoother at that level. I have yet to roll a Invul through 60+ characters on live and HC. I literally forget it is there. I have thought of various heroes to make and have a look down, but don't roll them since I forget Invul is an option. Outside of the hype for /bio, I have just been wanting to try a brute with a damage aura that isn't /fire. A couple /elec ones keep being deleted.
  3. Played around with my TW/bio brute and I know it is still early in the life cycle of the build, level 28, but it just feels more fiddly than what I want out of a build. I see the potential, but I feel like I'm fighting the build and that's not fun. I would roll a TW/wp brute in a heartbeat if I didn't already have a /wp brute.
  4. I'll try to stop being annoying with every time it happens, but it happened twice more tonight. There was a variation on the theme with a long load happening and getting a mapServer message, but the second time was back to normal. Note, if there is going to be an issue, it is very early on during the load page. I see a small amount of the load bar, and then it just sits there until the load happens. I don't know what percentage of the time it happens, but it is enough to where being on teams is going to be difficult if I have to exit the program and then log back in and get a reinvite once every lets say 6 load screens. Should be obvious how annoying this would be for TFs. I don't know if I could even complete one.
  5. Complete reboot for my laptop and making sure everything is patched. It happened again today.
  6. SJ is best on a stalker as it swaps out a single target attack for AS. Fire blast is weakest on defenders and incidentally enough, I find Kin to be the weakest there as well which helps point out why Fire/kin is so popular on controllers and corruptors.
  7. For me, I prefer the risk/reward of playing a blaster. The idea I could simply grab Hover and hang out above using ranged attacks while having legit defense is boring. They also removed the damage auras and seemingly most of anything interesting from melee range, see Chilling Embrace, from the defense sets. Kind of like driving a 4-cylinder Porsche. /dark is a close as I can see as being interesting in melee, but alas, no damage aura.
  8. Parry helps /regen so it should be one of the smoother rides to 50. I think the strength of /regen is in the late game with IOs so if that is the goal, then it should work out fine.
  9. You can and should both run Tactics which would make the issue minor. I would be less fond of Dark in this situation since /ff covers enough defense. What you want is buffs/debuffs and heals. I see less need for team stealth so Rad and Time work fine for me. I would lean Time although that is honestly just trying to avoid Rad's toggles. Time/dp does seem easier to thematically explain as well. It has been years, but IIRC, defenders do get access to AoE Immobilization powers in Epics/Patrons. /dark has one, but it doesn't prevent KB. There is also the issue of Dark being better on a controller, but Dark is still really good, and I feel like I could make a case for defenders over controllers in today's Incarnate/IO world. Maybe not a good one. 😀 Let's just say my Dark/dark controller has at times felt like a crappy defender.
  10. Part of the issue again is what scrappers get and what stalkers get. "Generally speaking" stalkers will lose out on an AoE to gain AS. This is not always true, see SJ. Stalkers also have far better control over their crits compared to scrappers. A stalker should to a fault crit on their opening AoE depending on the situation. A scrapper might do it, but a stalker can guarantee it. In other words, a scrapper might have more AoE attacks, but a stalker might use their AoE in a way for the battle to end in a shorter amount of time and thus not need the extra AoE as much. Again, see stalker's Chance to Hide IO.
  11. I don't think a decent answer is coming for that until HC becomes official. It feels like HC is going the long route knowing they are in negotiations as where other servers are going all in now. I wouldn't mind a Sinister Six type of ordeal where an arc has a battle with multiple AVs.
  12. TW I believe is the current DPS king based on pylon threads. Since Stalkers don't get it, it is harder to do an actual comparison. I think a tricked out stalker with similar sets would at least compare if not succeed a scrapper. Factor in something like an IO which can rehide a stalker and the damage potential is quite good. I also don't see as much value in DPS as others might. Melee builds move around so much DPS is less important. This is why BS on a stalker is so good.
  13. I play in Windowed mode. I did a print screen, but I don't see it. I rebooted my laptop so I don't have anything to paste into Paint so I can link to it. If you went into the game and got rid of the UI so all you see is the environment, that's what I see.

Considering how easy it was to recreate known characters to where NCSoft literally got sued for it, I'll just say we are going to have to agree to disagree on how creative one has to be with one of the better character creator tools around. I'm not saying people can't make heroes they like. I'm just saying lets not get carried away with saying how creative people are for making Hulk#Over9000. Hell, I really like my take on Cap, but there was very little creative about it. Basically make Cap and add in something I like putting on similar looking heroes as sort of my own trademark and call it a day. Note I didn't keep the character. I didn't have it in a costume contest because, hello, it was quite obvious what I was going for. Oddly enough, I did recently think about how I kind of made X-23 here before she was a thing or at least before I knew she was a thing.
  15. I assume someone getting a runner-up label for a costume contest got it from the HC team. I say this as I saw someone with it and it was a completely obvious redo of a known character. Kind of rubbed me the wrong way. Reward people who actually have a bit of creativity.
  16. There's zero interface so I don't know how typing would do anything. Again, this started yesterday, and I have been playing for months. While graphics can be an issue at some points, this feels different.
  17. I don't see why it wouldn't be. Gives Kin a bit of mitigation which it really needs and enough AoEs to use since you'll be pumping out damage buffs and recharge.

  19. I think one aspect of why I don't use Psy blast is Ice exists and Mental fits in if need be for theme.
  20. Started yesterday and have seen it happen three times. I get a load screen that sits at barely loaded, it finally loads, and all I see is the background with the area I was in and I'm super close and lower to where it initially feels like I am stuck in the floor. I can't do anything outside of scrolling the camera backwards. I simply close the game and reload it.

  22. The issue is how consistent it is and how effective it is overall. A number of late game AVs will laugh at it. My main on live was Kin/elec and I feel like I could drain some back on live, but I also had Power Boost. My Elec/kin controller doesn't yet. I went for damage so far with Patron powers. Regular mobs, well yeah. Unless something specifically resist it(Sappers), they will have no end in short order. I currently find the controller version the best out of the box sapper for support types since Elec control gets a location targeted AoE sleep and controls to deal with needing to be in melee range. Damage is lower. I would rank the corr version next since corrs have better potential for damage and I doubt the difference in sapping is that different. In short, it works, but end drain can be fairly useless for some end game content.
  23. I only recreated the one I was most sentimental to, but it went from Claws/regen scrapper to Claws/wp brute. I did redo my main from Kin/elec to Elec/kin controller, but I don't think I'll keep it. More interesting to me is how I had a list of builds to do if the game ever came back, and I don't think a single one has survived. The list is far more of powersets which simply didn't exists until near the game's end just after I had essentially stopped playing or near it. Pretty much all of the those sets have been great.
