  1. This. Part of it for me is Sents not having the auras like the other melee versions of the defense sets. They simply aren't an interesting archtype. They are merely safe.
  2. Well, here's a reason to go Dark/elec again.
  3. You didn't factor in containment.
  4. For future reference. I'm not sure I would go soloing AVs with it partly because I don't think it's ST chain is that strong, but I don't know the numbers either. I think it does work will with /elec since you get an additional heal and another damage aura so if you want more orange numbers versus soloing AVs, this is were I would look. I loved my Dark/elec I had on Live and was one of the builds I was going to recreate if CoH ever came back, but oddly enough it never stuck around this time. I may have to create it again some day. Others I would look at are Stone and SS. +recharge and end recovery would be helpful for either.
  5. I more recently in the past few years accepted I was more into superhero lore versus a specific super hero. While I certainly like various heroes, I don't need them. I played the Marvel RPG back in the day and near the end we just started creating characters, grabbing two per player, and having slugfests between two players. Some of my favorite heroes are the ones in my head. The closest I have gotten is taking the idea of Hulk and building it around being faith based versus anger with bio related powers. He could as an example heal someone while taking on the injury and then regen. He uses his powers to achieve various physical feats and more so under the right condition, but he also uses them outside of that doing good works. Closest thing in CoH would be SS/wp brute although I would rather play StJ/wp.
  6. "Hello Mr. Boomstick. I see you have come to obtain the powers of a god." "Yes, I have for I have helped save Paragon over and over again and wish to be granted god like powers so I may further do so against forthcoming threats." "Ah yes. Very noble of you. Let's see here. I now grant you to bring judgement against those who appose you via being able to bring forth extreme amounts of destruction around you." "Well, uh, I'm a blaster so I already have a nuke." "Yes, but now you have two!" "Maybe more defense? A heal. You know, mitigation." "Two nukes! And one from the gods themselves mere mortal." "Yeah actually, instead of two nukes and being a mere mortal how about not so much on the faceplanting while being a blaster with godlike powers?" "Two nukes!" "I'm just a guy with a gun. How do I, uh, now have fire coming out of me?" "By the gods!" [/scene] "Hello Ms Backstabby. I see you have come to obtain the powers of a god." "Cool cool. Yeah, anything to make my life easier 'arresting' the baddies." "I now grant you the ability to summon forth a warwork companion coming from the Paragon's great historical lore as you can now team up and go forth with your tasks at had." "Uh, you know I'm a stalker right? I tend to do a lot of things alone and undetected until it is too late. You know, sneaky sneaky." "Why yes, but now you have someone else to support you and vanquish the evil doers of Paragon as you go about being 'sneaky sneaky.'" "But how is a warwork 'sneaky sneaky?'" "...." [/scene]
  7. Just note that Ill/rad is still a powerhouse of a build in said situation. Pre level 50 with common IOs and mine was soling +4 missions back on Live.
  8. I haven't been soloing my stalker as of late, so I haven't noticed. I wouldn't expect mobs to stick on a stalker anyway. If this is an issue for tanks and brutes, then yeah.
  9. Kill moar Skuls. I'm two characters away from having all of the characters which I want to play after hitting 50 at 50. I'll work on badges and accolades along with planning out builds and incarnate stuff. I fully accept at some point I'll have the few builds I care about "finished" and still play them. I remember back on Live people played their mains simply because they enjoyed doing so so much. After playing so long on Live and figuring out what I like to play, I would just prefer the builds I like the best and just play those. If something else comes along, fine, but I'm not busting my butt to recreate my habit of 40+ characters. Just because a character is set, doesn't mean they are done.
  10. One con for the combo is having Hurricane on and trying to use the PBAoE attack.
  11. Sentinels don't get any of the aura powers so I think /ice would be a lesser pairing for me. I would rather think Ice/cold corr or maybe controller. Dark/dark to me was really best known for a defender at least on hero side. Invul/ss has to be a tank. War Mace/shield for a scrapper.
  12. Blaster: Fire/fire Watching the world burn down.
  13. Earth has to be Top 3 for me. It is a beast in terms of control. As long as you are fine waiting for damage to kick in or don't consider it a higher priority, then it is terrific. Maybe even the best primary. Part of me wishes I had pimped out my Earth/storm on Live just to fully see how deep that rabbit hole was. I had a Sonic defender which I liked. I never got it to 50 though.
  14. I don't think it is top tier. I would at least put things like Fire/kin and Elec/kin in that tier for the sake of synergy. Yes, I get Fire/kin is way in the lead as a favorite, but for the sake of synergy both play in melee with auras and Elec has -end which can be used with Transference. Kin is by default better in teams. It works better with controllers since they get pets and mitigation, but Grav's pet is more known for adding control than offense. The added mitigation is welcome to a Kin. Hopefully any KB doesn't create too many issues. Saying that, I think it's fine as a combo. Grav does solid damage. Boosting that is a good thing. Wormhole can be super helpful at times for positioning which matters to a Kin. Having more ranged attacks isn't that much of an issue considering I took a Kin/sonic to 50 on Live. You don't have to have auras or PBAoEs to be in melee. 😁 You can also hang back enough and get close as needed, again, see Kin/sonic. I probably mix/max a bit too hard to roll one, but I have thought about it, and I think the powers would work well enough together theme wise. Grab Fly/Hover and rain objects from above. 😂
  15. This is your problem. You need to slot acc and then end. Two acc for AoE attacks.
  16. Water/temp. One of the most balanced characters I have played.
  17. StJ is legit awesome on a Stalker. You swap out one ST attack for AS so you don't lose any AoE and get a better ST attack. It has a great balance of St and AOE with some mitigation. The selling point for Rad would be a more offensive, ie AoE, based take on Dark. I finally switched at least one idea over from Dark to Rad and have enjoyed it so far. I can't get past Shadow Maul's animation. Yes, I know the numbers work out. I'm currently leveling a StJ/en Stalker and Rad/shield Scrapper. I am tempted to try Rad/ice because I don't see how that doesn't work well.
  18. If you haven't, StJ/shield stalker. StJ is awesome on a stalker. I have a St/en at 43 which I is one of the few I would play after hitting 50. Other fun options are Dark or Elec with /shield on stalkers as well. A Rad/shield scrapper should put out a good amount of damage.
  19. That's also partly on Kat. DA is a great bonus for almost any secondary. Brutes have been my favorite thing to play in gaming. Yup, all of it. I have grown to love some other ATs which I didn't really play much on Live, but there's something about going into a mission, going from point A to point B, and seeing the trail of bodies.
  20. Without looking it up and it being Sat. morning, Storm/sonic defender has to be up there. The answer will be some /sonic defender though.
  21. StJ just kills KM for me. Kat/wp would be a great pairing.
  22. You implied a scrapper could crit by merely walking up to a target. Only a stalker can do that. I wasn't suggesting a stalker. I was clarifying what you said.
  23. An over simplification. Scrappers don't control their crits like Stalkers do. Also, /WP is better on a Brute due to higher HP/Res cap. For me I would lean Brute.
  24. I tried "everything."
  25. I don't have a build for it, but the one defender I would roll would be Storm/water.
