  1. Then fix Incarnate content. A global containment buff for everyone all the time is a shortsighted fix.
  2. Until I get more experience with other secondaries Ice/temp is my default answer. You get two holds among other goodies. /fire would likely be #2.
  3. Blasters don't need containment. Level 50 +4 content can be made enough of a joke as is.
  4. While Storm is better on a def, Ice is definitely better on a corr due to scourge and the rain powers.
  5. I'll gladly take end reduction over recharge during early levels.
  6. You don't need to farm. Get on teams doing level 50 +4 missions and have 2x XP on. That's how I got my two level 50s in their final stretch so far. I also found focusing on a melee, DPS, and support build and getting them to 50 helped curbed altism a bit. This way there is a bit of rotation and change in playstyles. Once that group gets to 50, grab another. It also helps to figure out which builds once they hit 50 are still going to get played and invested in and focus on those. I had a list of like 16 guys. I'm down to 9-10 I care about to get to 50. I can see 5 being played post level 50 and one is a farmer so that's a default. I accept the fact I'm not going to pimp out all 10 characters, so I focus on the ones I want to. I play the others as a way to take break as needed.

  8. I must be missing something for people saying Ice is among the fastest. Water feels faster. Fire's T1 is near auto fire worthy.
  9. Until you can get reasonable common IOs slotted, I wouldn't read too much into anything. Defense based sets are all or nothing, and you don't have a heal in your secondary until later.
  10. I'm also down for playing what is fun. If you enjoy a build, that's what matters. WP powers are good though 28, so I would at least get up to that. 32 might be the ideal place to evaluate the build.
  11. Do a search for "Bad." There are a couple, but I prefer the space one. Mobs are a single +1 inept boss. Being level 11 would be an easy level per run with 2x XP. You are perma exempted at level 1, so no matter your leveling, you can't out level the content even doing 2x XP. It is my preferred why to kick start a new character outside of pure AE farming.

  13. Not controller specific, but I did start a Time/Temporal SG on Torchbearer. I haven't done much with it mostly due to graphic issues which seems to have settled. My Plant/storm just hit 50 last night, so I'm not planning to do either again as I would just play that build instead. Also, Plant/storm is really awesome. One of the rare builds I want to play after hitting 50.
  14. /temp works well regardless, but Water/temp is one of the few builds I want to play after hitting 50. It is certainly in the Top 3.
  15. My golden rule tends to be go for something with a def based armor and go from there. This way you can stack it with other def based powers and IOs. Powers which can give you defense to range also help.

  18. For me personally, it is one AoE with a small cone which roots you for a decent amount of time. Even if the damage scaling is correct, it isn't an AoE I enjoy using.
  19. My one hope is at some point the code gets the needed overhaul it deserves. This is the only game I have played where it generates the graphic issues which it does. I can run the latest game I want to and experience zero issues. CoH can be a slideshow.
  20. This was pretty much my only gripe with the OP. If a build doesn't work for you, dumping influ into it likely won't either. Maybe the build just simply isn't right for you. Roll another and try it out. From live and HC I have rolled 70+ characters. I have 1 level 50 on HC although I will have another one this week. I currently have 3-4 builds I want to invest in once they hit 50. Anything else so far has been merely getting it to 50 and calling it good.
  21. SJ is in the running for my favorite melee set. I can't say I have a favorite armor just yet but went /ea on my SJ. I have been debating Ice for melee and armor but not settled on anything. Closest would likely be Kat/ice or Dark/ice scrapper. I have thought about Ice/sd, so that might be an option for a stalker once I get the main three guys who I know I want to play after hitting 50 to 50, and I'm willing to just playing around with builds and seeing what else works really well. I pause on /ice for stalkers as it gives up the damage aura. On a Dark/ice scrapper, it would help fill in Dark's lack of AoE. I feel like need to try BS and Elec/sd just to fully see what the hype is about.
  22. Also easier to do with being in that level range. Level 50 would be different, but you also have other options for counter it as well. Manouvers is one power everybody should try to make room for. Eight players even without additional slotting makes for easy teaming.
  23. Played /elec and /sonic to 50. Since /elec isn't an option, /sonic is very good and would likely be the one Kin I would roll these days. /rad and /dark would be the others worthy of note. Bah, how the hell did a forget water? LOVE the set, although nothing super specific which helps out Kin. The AoE KD is nice though. The regen/attack is less useful. The set is just awesome, but just not something I would mentally pair together with Kin. /ice and /fire are simply better on a corr.
  24. Corr would be an easy pick for me. I even stumbled upon the idea after thinking how good it could be. Unfortunately Fire is simply better on a corr.
