  1. Easy idea would be to make a homage to Lebowski Thor.
  2. TW/wp. The animations are so slow it will give you plenty of time to chill out. I love fast playing builds, see alias, but TW/wp would be the complete opposite.
  3. You can also auto complete missions if need be although there is a timer to how often that can be done.
  4. Rerolled a Rad/ss tank wanting to make it a SJ/rad brute instead. I'm only holding off since I have a SJ/shield scrapper I want to focus on. If the Rad/tw tank which I did replace it with doesn't work out because I can't tolerate /tw being so slow, I'll go Rad/sj. I did roll a Spines/bio brute to see how much I like /bio or not.
  5. Sonic is +res/-res based. Cold covers a much larger range of debuffs, ie -recharge and -regen. While it could be argued Sonic is safer, Cold will make things like AVs dead faster so in terms of late game usefulness, it will be difficult to argue against Cold.
  6. Can? Yes. You will find few powersets have all powers which are worth taking. Sometimes it can be a good thing if a powerset has a number of skibbable powers. Not all builds are built to solo equally as well, but I had some issues on the arc you mentioned with even a solo friendly build.
  7. Since Rad has a click power for recharge, it makes me wonder if using it and Hasten wouldn't be a decent path to go.
  8. Sonic is going to be way more rare than anything outside of FF or TA. Resist based sets will likely not have much use for Sonic, but defense based ones will, and there's little way to determine who you will be teaming with unless you know in advance. Cold will be similar but with defense. If you are looking for variety, Cold wins out versus Sonic as Sonic is vastly +res/-res based. Cold is a toolbox of debuffs.
  9. +1. I will say Ill/rad was the one controller I wanted to reroll if CoH came back and that's considering I had one at 50 previously and that I held off on making one and haven't played it much, see being level 5. My Dark/dark is 24 and is a big reason why my Ill/rad sits so low. PA is awesome, but I'm honestly interested to see what the D/d turns into as it levels because hitting 38 and then epics should see a huge upswing from how and now is rather good. This says nothing of IO sets and Incarnates. Nothing like a controller rolling around with their own mass horde of pets.
  10. I agree with you. Let them shout us out. It seems to that the focus of the game has moved to clearing +4/x8 mobs as quickly as possible. Relatively few people want to take on intentionally challenging content. I am not sure why this is. Unfortunately, controllers are very useful in the difficult content that doesn't get much attention. The solution, for me at least, is to build controllers for as much damage as possible. I don't feel useless on my Plant/Storm because I help clear mobs with AoE damage from my pets (Flytrap, Creepers, Tornado, Lightening Storm), as well as confuse enemies and debuff their defense and resistance. I don't lock down mobs entirely; I mitigate enemy damage while contributing a good bit of my own. The days have passed when a low-damage-high-control Controller is useful. Things are dieing too quickly for an Earth/FF to shine. Don't fight the trend. Join it and build an offensive controller. I was on a small team last night. I have a feeling a lot of leveling post DFB's will be that way as well unless you are doing TFs. I think the days of one sided builds are done in terms of being useful. Sadly, I recently made an Ice/rad controller as I always wanted one back on live. I don't think controllers are useless on teams. There is still annoying content, ie Tsoo, CoT, etc. I just think you can get a lot more use out of builds which have a bit of diversity to them. See also me thinking why tanks are going to be to harder to come by as brutes on smaller teams can work perfectly fine. Been itching to do a Fire/rad, and I might just reroll the Ice/rad into it. Granted, I already have an Ill/rad so that's partly why I keep holding off. FYI, I have soloed a lot since coming back. Most normal teams I have been on don't get filled. The team last night was three people until we looked for some support. We were scrapper, blaster, and tank to start. A controller would have been useful there. We added a defender. Hell, if I get the chance to team with a friend, my default is grabbing a controller as he seems to love sentinels.
  11. I'll take Rad over Kin for solo. Why? Rad has mitigation in terms of debuffs in toggles covering a number of things. Kin has mostly debuffs which need to hit and those debuffs are -dmg and -speed. If you aren't hitting on a Kin, you are going to have issues. /fire also offers no form of mitigation outside of things being dead faster. Played a Fire/kin corr on live, and while it was a beast in terms of damage, it was mostly kill or be killed. Never played DP, but Dark pairs nicely with all of them. Dark and an AoE immob. to keep mobs bunched up. Damage isn't great due to being a defensive set. Fire is, well, fire. I see little reason for it to not succeed with Time or Rad. Melee versus range matters less in a solo situation, but Rad does work better at range as does my guess all of the blasts sets. Easiest defender to solo was my Rad/sonic. I had 2 Kins at 50(my main was one), and a Rad and /rad at 50 plus a number of others at lower levels.
  12. FF is the easiest to make a team steamroll. It is the least useful for a team which can already steamroll. In the land of IOs and Incarnates, FF loses out big time.
  13. Easiest time might go to /wp. Toggle up and go. Divine Avalanche helps /wp.
  14. WP works fine for end game. SJ, MA, or SS will work. SJ an SS are both legit fun powersets outside of actually being great as well. If I wasn't already doing both with other builds, I would do both as /wp brutes in a heartbeat. SJ is the most wrestler type.
  15. Once you have the badges, use level 25 IOs and sell level 30 IOs. This will easily generate enough startup influence to where you can move onto straight farming.
  16. I always like one controller type on a team just so you have someone to deal with the annoying stuff, ie Tsoo. Grab a debuff based secondary and you should be set. Fire, Plant, Mind, Dark, and /dark, rad, and /cold would work.
  17. No reason to not have Dull Pain by 11.
  18. /regen on a brute is basically for solo and small teams until you can IO it out. If you are to be the meat-shield on a decent sized team, hopefully you have the support to deal with alpha strike. A smoother leveling curve is /wp.
  19. There's honestly too much info on Discord to properly keep up with it. Sure, announcements are easier, but I don't think I lasted a week there.
  20. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/topic,4565.0.html Worth a read. I post on the memorization badges with a link to what is needed to earn them. There are others in there about using attuned set IOs and converting uncommon IOs to rare. USing SOs is basically dumping influ in the trash.
  21. Claws has great AoE on Brutes, but mediocre ST -- and it's a bit advanced to get it working. Like you point out elsewhere, it's also much better as a Scrapper set. I didn't list MA or DB for similar reasons. I don't recall saying it is better as a scrapper set. Claws has been known as one of the better sets for building furry.
  22. Slot level 25 common IOs at level 22. Do: Earn level 25-30 crafting badges for a type of IO enhancement, ie damage. Once you have the badge, you don't need the recipe for it. Create level 25 enhancements for your characters. Create and sell the level 30 versions. Even casual use of the market will get you enough to outfit all of your characters. https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Memorization_Badges
  23. If there wasn't an AE, people would still farm.
