  1. Currently in Night Ward. Next mission is there. Parents are coming over earlier than expected, so going to have to pass on this week.
  2. 2-35. That's where builds develop the most. 36-49 is mostly a waiting period. 50+is deciding how easy you want to make the game.
  3. The Tank ATO +Res proc is a bit overkill on a Res based Tank. I would honestly do it on a Brute.
  4. I was doing +2/x8 on level 25 common IOs with a Spines/fire. A full build for that is like 2-3 mil. And the evergreen point is using the market can get you far more bang for buck in terms of time investment. I have a couple level 25-30 characters who are fully IOed out and having extras on hand as they level while having 100-200 million on hand. Both are self funded as well. I won't be surprised if they hit level 50 with 500 million sitting. I could be off in that by a good chuck and it could still be 300 million. Also note one solos at +0/x1 and then teams with maybe 4-5 others since it is a low pop server. She's been on one 8 person team. Both have used maybe one 2x XP booster to gain some levels and that strips out currency drops so they both have actively hindered gaining currency on some level. I only farm so I can use a second account and PL my own guys. Farming is too boring to farm for currency.
  5. Procs aren't going to save a set. Force Field is bad without procs, but I also don't think it gets better compared to other sets when adding in procs. I'm not even sure it gets equally good with them as well. Kin melee is another which isn't great, but I don't see it being massively improved with procs. Sents need an overhaul. Procs can't counter something like the cap on targets.
  6. I was going to say, Controllers really benefit from procs so giving them TA just adds to it. Plant is also open to proc overload. My Plant/ta is only level 25 so I have a ways to go before I start to see it come together.
  7. Shield Wall is +5% Res. I thought the other started at 5% as well, but it is 3% scaling to 13%. I don't factor in grabbing pool powers to patch sets. I look how they stand on their own. Case in point, /regen starts to look a lot better once you dump powers outside of /regen into it.
  8. Nothing wrong with gathering the resources for a build over time, and maybe do some respecs as you go along or just do one when you have everything. Shield is one of the best sets to invest in, and more so on a Tank. In all honesty, crafting level 41 Red Fortune recipes and converting the IOs to rares isn't much of "gift."
  9. Scrapper does more damage due to getting more out of +dmg. A Tank can add in an ATO to essentially give Shield up to +21% Res simply due to attacking. Tanks get bigger AoEs. The pet nature of Shield Charge doesn't help either AT. It is essentially a toss up.
  10. Elec and other Res based sets don't have DDR so there is no "if." I've felt how weak a Def based set can be until it gets it's DDR up to par. Also, Res might be easier to get than you think. Two IOs can get you 10% Res with one adding in scaling so it can go up. A Tank can stack it's ATO proc to get 21% Res so in three IOs a Tank can have 31% Res. Even for a Stalker, it isn't that difficult to get over 60% Res to S/L on something like EA. Mine might be closer to 70% which is close to the cap. Stone is essentially a Def based set, and I can get all sort of Res on that. Def means annoying stuff doesn't hit you. DDR makes sure that remains true. /elec does deal with some annoying stuff rather well. Now try /fire.
  11. Defender has the stronger debuff values so I would go Defender.
  12. Ice Blast is better on a Corr due to the DoT nature of Ice working with Scourge. I will point out, however, Defenders do get a ATO proc for PBAoE Heal and Absorb. Power Transfer can be 2-slotted for 6% Regen and one being Chance for Self Heal. So going Cold/ice isn't as risky on a Defender if someone has that issue with the combo.
  13. Correct, I wasn't actually look at your build as I had assume it had loaded up when one of my own builds was in there. Fire Def is still lacking for a farming build, so my point stands. I would look at some one offs. A Def Debuff: Chance for -Res in Slash. Move the Hecatomb: Chance for Damage to FU. Spin can use a FotG: Chance for -Res. A general rule is damage/recharge can be switched for a damage proc. There's enough ways to get additional recharge you won't miss that one slot. See Focus. I might look at using some LotG: +Recharge in your Def powers. Claws is fast enough. You want the clicks in /fire recharging asap. You have enough ways of getting End you might want to scale back and invest more into Healing Flames. Consume is fine in end recovery as along as the mob is sort of decent. You can look at things like Bombardment or even Mocking Beratement. I'm just going to assume you are a sane person and grabbing Shockwave at 32. /fire craves mitigation. Barrier will get you to softcap for S/L.
  14. You falsely assume they are looking to farm. This is a rather poor build for doing so. See sub 20% Fire Def and 55% Res Fire and no added AoE via Epics. At a glance, it is fine.
  15. Ended up running First/Night Ward missions to end so might start there next week depending on the Weekly. I hit level 30 so getting close to where a lot of the sub level 50 content is available.
  16. StJ is more fun for me. The combo system is forgiving. There's no rage crash to deal with which means it is more friendly with Def based armors. StJ's AoEs are the smallest so that's going to show up more on x8 content as where Footstomp is obviously going to excel there. StJ does animate fast and has low recharge. I think it partly depends on what you are pairing it with. I can see StJ/shield or /stone and SS/elec.
  17. In short, do red side content. You get Arachnos and Longbow. Longbow honestly aren't that bad, BUT their bosses and certainly specific ones are hell to take on so it might take more than a single map to get a vibe. A Rad based boss is, well, not fun because all it takes is toggles. Bye bye recharge and regen. Arachons might need more than one map as well. Arachnos are an issue because the sheer mass of Mu and more so with some being bosses can create enough end drain even an armor with some end drain protection can feel it. Their LTs, maybe, who have an assassin strike type of attack can move a health bar even on a Brute. BP can be an issue for some builds as well. My WP Brute can be fine and then, "OMG, what the hell just happened." Same with a Fire Brute when I was dealing with Arachnos. Now, take a Scrapper with SOs because Scrappers were "soloing +4/x8 back before IOs" and yeah, good luck with that. Mr. G is a great measuring stick. There is a mob, whom I'm too lazy to look up, which debuffs end and recharge. They broke my brain a bit the first time I fought them at +3/x8 on my Fort. There's a mission which has a mob full of EBs and others including at least one boss. Heaven help the person who walks into that with diff setting set at soloing AVs. This says nothing of mobs which contain high amounts of Psy which few Resists sets can properly deal with and more so with just SOs. 801 testing has repeatedly shown Def based sets win out on average. Add in Scrappers/Stalkers having lower HP and resist caps, and yeah. I stand by my statement if you care about pushing the envelop in terms of diff setting. If not that or certainly in team situations, any/any.
  18. It took some effort, but I found the chart.
  19. Saying people solo at +4/x8 is honestly a bit meaningless when you aren't saying what they are soloing exactly. I say this because I know of maps which will absolutely make a Res based Brute pause if not repeatedly faceplant even with IOs. Oh, you can solo +4/x8 against Council? Well, good luck with that being your standard.
  20. Someone recently posted how much better Energy performs DPS wise once you start to slot KB to KD into it. I have a Water/temp at 50 and it is my only level 50 Blaster. Needless to say I like /temp a lot.
  21. To be honest, pylon times aren't really even Plant's strength since Seeds is a non-issue. I solo on my Plant/ta as needed. The two holds mean bosses are held quickly even with basic slotting.
  22. Also, when someone does offer a build like in the thread I mentioned, it would be considerate to actually reply to/like/thanks, etc the post.
  23. /ea only adds recharge so /bio is going to be better. I would say EM/bio Scrapper. I haven't looked at the Stalker version in terms of pylon times though.
