Well you'll notice I was talking about the "dps meta" and how the debuff sets come with -res which is exceptionally valuable in content when everyone wants more damage. So...we agree. Most of your other concerns are already addressed in later posts as well. We weren't talking about purely the viability of debuffs vs buffs; that wasn't this conversation, although it's one that we can have. They have their strengths and weaknesses. Debuffs will, for the entirety of everyone attacking said target, increase dmg, to hit, whatever; their targets can be limited in kind. Click buffs are inherently more limited in potential range, but last longer and are much more consistent when being toggles. A ST debuff lets everyone do more to one, a ST buff lets one do more to everyone. In different situations, you might value a debuff more than a buff or vice versa, and AVs are really the only enemy where it's obvious buffs are supreme. For instance, -defense is really only heavily resisted by AVs. But take a look at values. -Defense values are monstrously greater than +to hit values, and more often than not can also stack, whereas something like overgrowth or fortitude cannot. The same applies to -tohit values compared to +def. Purple Patch does hit debuffs hard, but it's offset by larger values. The situation still decides which would be better. One issue that comes to mind with something like -tohit is it being totally undermined by effortlessly accessible soft caps in teamplay, but that is also a different discussion.

I'm sure even with something like what's suggested above +0/x1 and the like would still be a walk in the park. There probably wouldn't be anything to worry about if installed practically.

If you think that's good there's like a billion other cool temps. I just get all the coral powers everytime they deplete. 72 hours in game time is seriously long too, you should just join a temp hunting SG.

This is correct and I am quite anti-power creep, but simply declaring that the other sets like empathy are viable doesn't fix that problem. It's just...really clear it falls behind in relevance; I love it and it has its role but that role becomes unnecessary quite quickly. I'm not calling for changes to empathy either, I just needed to affirm that fact.

Don't forget -res also increases damage of unenhanceable abilities, like all procs and prestige powers.
-
@Ralathar44 @summers What are you two on about? It is exactly because of the DPS centric meta that the debuff sets are most valued at the end game. They make you do more damage. They mitigate damage. I can't even imagine how you think any of your points thus far would make empathy a better end game option than something like cold. End Game enemies can one shot the unprepared, or kill so fast it might as well be. Mitigation is king there. Heals are touch-ups. Suggesting that the purple patch renders -res less useful is also just silly, I suggest picking up a power analyzer in temp permitted content or running Surveillance. You can literally see enormous -res, -def, and even -dmg values applied that directly disprove the idea that debuffs aren't important there.

Peacebringers: Bring Back Solar Flare's Stomp Animation!
Monos King replied to ScarySai's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
All I know is it was changed before closing, as I remember hating the change along with the EAT unlock being made lvl 20. -
I'm just making the hard decisions, sometimes you need to be sacrificed for the teams moral. All I'm sayin.

Dead serious, I think this should be added as a temporary power for the next Valentine's Day Event, and should do moderate damage so it isn't a guaranteed kill but if it does kill it buffs everyone. Gets a real long recharge too. I am fully aware this could be used as a troll tactic and care not. I reject your objections, I reject them!

Peacebringers: Bring Back Solar Flare's Stomp Animation!
Monos King replied to ScarySai's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Agree, hate clap want back stomp. -
Oh no doubt. The feedback and suggestions forum the most important one for me.

There might be good reason for that. Here's a list of some: Irksome in-game campaigning Immediate alienation by the defeated populace. Forcing casual or simply incapable players to monitor the forums Really destructive changes being pushed forward That last one is where I'd center future discussions. Game designers don't a good player make, and players certainly don't make good game designers on that merit alone. People like buffs more than nerfs, obviously, and when player preference runs rampant bad things happen. Like dreaded power creep, powerset monotony, removal, etc. Players usually aren't looking at the wide scope of events and the future. They're too busy enjoying the game for different reasons, and want to cherish things that might need to be sacrificed to prevent issues later. I'm not too keen to focus on all that 24/7, and probably neither are you. I'd love to play a long running game that did operate by vote ins though, that would be quite the case-study.

Can you link to me a popular game or legacy server that does this? I think what your insinuating calls for investigation. Consider me intrigued.

Don't know about that one boss. I mean, as a general rule of thumb sure, but not so much on the suggestions and feedback forum where discussion is entirely the purpose. Pretty sure in regards to proposals, talking someone into liking or disliking a thing is what's on most peoples minds when they engage an opposing view. This isn't like "I don't like chocolate ice cream, and don't try and change my mind." I like something = I think it's a good idea here, and from rallying support from the players to outright convincing the devs, persuasion has a big role here.

Standardize Lore Pets: 4 moves for the Bosses
Monos King replied to Monos King's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Hahaha if we were the only two in charge of this I'd call it a deal. -
Standardize Lore Pets: 4 moves for the Bosses
Monos King replied to Monos King's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Phantoms does alright, but the others definitely. Arachnos is outright terrible just based off of tests documented on the wiki page, and that was before monsters like Banished Pantheon came and added to the average. Lore Bosses that have 5 attacks (only Cimeroran) should keep their 5, but I think with only two exceptions all the rest should get at least 4. The lieutenant's powers seem to have no bearing on how many the bosses get, which makes sense as they are practically trivial by comparison. Seems to have been the first iteration of incarnate Lore pets mostly had only 3 powers, besides Clockwork from what I gather. -
Standardize Lore Pets: 4 moves for the Bosses
Monos King replied to Monos King's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Notice they get Resistance or Essence instead of an actual move. Both do nothing, and their existence is probably a glitch. -
The Phantom boss is pretty much the only Boss that only gets 3 actual attacks in lore, aside from Warworks, longbow, and perhaps one other. Warworks makes sense because of the insanely fast recharges and ability to crit, and this guy has neither of that. Longbow is just awesome, and does a lot of damage. Phantom is also none of that. He needs Bitter Ice Blast, or something. Toxic Tarantula is another. Actual Toxic Tarantulas literally only have 4 moves; I don't even understand why they omitted that last one. Perhaps because it doesn't do damage. In my opinion, this should be replaced with the Recluse Victory Heavy Pet, which corresponds with what the Longbow Lore Pet has going on anyway. There are only two Lore Boss pets that can get away with or really benefit from having only 3 attacks instead of the norm that is 4. Toxic and Phantom at the very least should get that extra damaging move.
-
I mean, there are others that share his opinion too. He's just stating his case really. It's sorta how the discussion/debate gets rolling. Don't mind me, my only contribution is that if EM gets ported to scrappers Total Focus gets to crit fully, instead of how stalkers only crits for like 20% dmg or something. In fact, I'd like theirs to also crit fully.

T4 Radial Banished Pantheon Support Pet Doesn't Use Powers
Monos King replied to Monos King's topic in Bug Reports
Update: By Frequently I now mean reliably. It is happening upon every summon. I am using this on a mastermind. -
The AI on this pet is frequently VERY bad. It sits there not applying it's enemy debuff or using it's ally buff for its entire duration.

Ever been disapointed after a respec?
Monos King replied to EmperorSteele's topic in General Discussion
That's because you made a mercs/emp. -
There are, possibly literally, hundreds of threads on energy melee already of which that rage is distributed through. Some of which are receiving more traction than this one as we speak.
