I think a lot of what you suggest would elegantly, and uniquely empower and differentiate the controller AT. however, I also think simple is very good for getting things done and the key point we'd agree on is: controllers cannot control things well enough. this might be best solved by making them just apply mag bonus (or override) more frequently - and reach higher overlapped stacks of it for AVs etc. simpler is easier to implement, simple might get done.

no i missed that 😞 i was sulking and away at the time. but i think game reward mechanics (extra xp, not in AE) to drive folk to the lower pop side (whatever that may be) - that takes time to accrue so you don't just hop , would help tremendously.

Rogue isles is so lonely. Fired up a fresh character - and within minutes I had (by arachnos sanction no less): - 'negotiated' with a long bow by breaking his leg in a dialogue option - scrapped a bunch more and ninja'd a keycard - infiltrated a secret base! where I then proceeded to... - punch up the door guards, strip them bare and wear their clothes - snuck into its depths and punched up more of them - set the place on fire, as you do - chose to ignore the other villain passed out from the smoke who I'd seen longbow detain on the way in. we can't have others rising in recluse's favor. he'll be fine. - got 3x reward merits for my trouble contrast this with hero side where: - make friends with cosplay group - go to base and talk a lot - rescue manticore because he really needs saving by a lvl 3 there's heists! casino action! an evil las vegas zone! and snakes, and super plague zombies, and luddites and boomers and legacy of chains or whatever the light mages are.... but no one plays red. i want to scream. I still think the powers-that-be should have a shot at xp/inf/something buffs with how long you stay associated FULLY with the faction that has less play - you could put it on the alignment powers. like planetside did for underplayed factions.

HI! As it is now, I rarely play a controller vs dominator, and only if I'm itching for a def secondary. See I like CC, and controller is... well... underpowered. If I slot illu like I'm doing damage, why don't I just make a fortunata and wreck stuff - i don't need decoys. /thermal is fun to have as a secondary. there's others. illu/poison, i guess... But you can't beat double magnitude on a button you can make perma, that also comes with an end fillup. powers like telekinesis are worth the toggle on an av - its a mag6 base to further holds you spam, secondaries on dom with effects like disorient are one-hit-stunning bosses. if you like CC, a healthy damage scaling, super aggro playstyle (anything/savage)... and you know how to build out perma/near perma dom (you don't even need to take hasten on an elec/earth, slot all the kb for the recharge) By comparison, controller is a wet noodle, and debatably you'd do better with a def if what you want is a strong def set as primary. If anything, imo your suggestion is too low a mag bump for controllers - though I like it. I can ALWAYS be mag 6 holds on a dom, and the extra mag from domination comes with duration boost. In today's breakneck speed where the CC character needs impact NOW or its dead, where we don't have time for 2 slow casts, or an AV half dead before you get the player satisfaction of seeing it controlled (and then that control on controller wears off super quick because you cannot keep stacking mag)... controllers need a buff. I don't want to hear about 'well controllers can have kin/dark affinity and that's great and because heals and things... so they should have weak control...' or 'you can stack -tohit with controller better and that works at high levels and everything!' - nonsense! As is, hands down, all over, in every way, a dominator is superior to a controller - at the 'control' part. So give them something. take your suggestion, and x2 all those percent chances. I do like how it can do battle flow twisting stuff like insta cc a giant monster, rarely. fun though - and that'd be the point, one might hope.

As you like, I've been happy with touch coverage over the 6.

I pretty much only play controllers, and dominators. The rest are flights of fancy. These are my personal favs, this is entirely subjective : Primaries of note: Earth -Def across most abilities, stacks. Several powers require you to be near or touching ground. Immob has kb supression, they won't move if hit by kb. But they'll still fall over (e.g. Mobs in your stone cages will flop on earthquakes) Long anim on single target hold. Hits hard tho. Dmg is smashing, less resisted than lethal. Salt crystals is a hidden overlooked gem Quicksand is great Earthquake is signature Staligmites make you feel like a controller Pet is soso, does OK. Pairs well with: dark, time, rad, storm. Elec End drain on abilities. Static field is signature, continually puts mobs to sleep over duration and slows ones that wake. Jolting chain is proc frankenslot friendly, quick recharging, effective. Chain confuse is OK, slow casting. Pets are effective. Pairs well with: kin Dark You weren't a fan, skipping. Dark dark is team God mode. Ice is terrible, advise avoiding it. Illusion is indeed boring, but very good once leveled and recharge bonuses up, for the pets. Grav feels like it excels on a Dom imo. With a melee focused secondary. Primary has good st ranged attack chain. Mind likewise belongs in Dom. Telekin stacking with holds at mag 6 can and does hold avs within a reasonable ramp time to mag 50. Secondaries of note: Kinetics dmg buffs, end drain, other ally recharge. Slot touch if the nictus 6 slot the heal until set acc bonuses let you flip to prevent med. Thermal good debuffs late in set 35/38. Single target dmg buff in forge, extreme dmg ressurect ion. Res shields, direct and aoe healing. Advise include sorcery pool with spirit ward, mystic flight (unless earth primary), rune of protection. Proper healer with real cc on controller. Darkness affinity Insanely good. Skipping.

Fix for endurance issues on low level
honoroit replied to Darkneblade's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Patience is a virtue, as is selection of action over unit time! If it was just so you could spam you're ideal attack chain constantly (prior to when it will largely be later in a build), with no repercussion whatsoever, you'd not be shocked when you got Malta sapped! 85359558_1935208986623390_6105614417292711849_n.mp4 -

Knockback Attack! What cool stuff could KB do?
honoroit replied to Galaxy Brain's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
If you took away the kb... It's just a bit of a disappointment. Such intense blast!, and... nothing happens. A controlling power set is rarer in mmos these days. While we don't quite have eq2 illusionist levels of awesome in coh, we certainly have varied sets and everything from telekinesis to earthquakes. But they require a degree of finesse. The controller/dom who's instaspamming aoe immob is just probably new to something they don't see in an ffxiv or wow, and that has more impact target count wise than a gw/gw2 mesmer. Is it annoying when you literally just finished placing 3 rains on your ice/cold and a pb knocks everything out of a very nasty patch? Perhaps the first time, and only if you'd want to see what you could do solo repeated on a team. Mechanics that cause you to have to think, dynamically react, and modify what you do remain annoying if you don't do anything to embrace the team your with. It's not a solo exhibition, it's a team of super heroes/villains on missions of grand import. So many mmos are about clawing down a wall with a set 'max dps' rotation, and 'skill' measured by how well you can play a repeating ditty of that on a keyboard. Maybe dodging out of circles that appear in the ground to tell you where to not stand in the fire. CoX offers a great deal more in a dynamic battlefield where LOTS is happening all the time. Not everything is telegraphed, and neither are your team members. Knockback, repel, and phase are fine! -

Vanity pets models replacements for Beast Mastery?
honoroit replied to kryptochan's topic in General Discussion
You could get the power and run with the pack properly -
Having played savage melee, /shield, elec melee (and liking savage's best), a gap closer for melee characters is game changing. You can keep up with ranged aoe spams. I have no idea why you'd want confront. If it was an aoe taunt, OK, but single target (even with a range drop), it's so situational as to be rendered useless. As with most, I've never taken it. Total junk power as is, a gap in a primary set.

i dont care how it preforms i like dual blades
honoroit replied to trogenion's topic in General Discussion
Never tried dual blades, though there's some great weapon options (like dual chainsaws!) 'Everyone' seems to say it's fiddly. Stalker might be better with build up, as the others have the blinding feint, which you have to persistently weave into the attack chain. -
It makes some sense 😀 Something to think on. You can maintain control merges with pull requests, everyone's not just committing to your master branch. You actually get better feedback, can discuss changes and how they're brought about etc. You'll actually gain more exposure, and gain resume portfolio fodder at the same time. If anyone is mean or doesn't like xyz about your project or coding style... Well they can go straight to hell via block user, and the OSS community as a whole has little tolerance for asshats who want to slander endeavor. Could someone clone the repo and make another city of tracker? Yes, but you've already outlined what you've done. There's some stuff I'm going to make public when I get finished moving cross country (in Minnesota, headed to Seattle)... specifically some aws stuff with Alexa and the like. 'Alexa, tell me about energy torrent', a flash briefing for forum posts here (hint, just grab and rearrange the rss feeds from this site into skillfeed items, clean trim text, and you done)... and so on. I'll also pack it with cloud infrastructure orchestration (cloudformation) so you can one click deploy it, and have CI/CD via AWS code pipeline once you do. That's not secret sauce, it's just helpful. Its fun for me, and I get the benefit of eyes on my work, and code review from folks who you'd normally have to pay quite hansomly for tutoring. Different perspectives are good, I'm sharing mine! If you do end up putting it up somewhere we can see, I'll bet you get all credit, as well as a better product. Good luck with it, however you move forward. And grats on figuring async await.

Do you have a public github repo for this? It would allow for direct assist in task work flow / code optimization if you do.

Knockback Attack! What cool stuff could KB do?
honoroit replied to Galaxy Brain's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
They're effectively micro-holds, and function as interrupts. This of course unless you insist on kb to kd foolishness! -
Knockback Attack! What cool stuff could KB do?
honoroit replied to Galaxy Brain's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
They seem already costed for the benefit /detriment/effect of the kb? Like some of the energy ones have very quick cast times. But damage added by distance flown (and negated by kb to kd!) would be nice. (Knockback is fine!)
