  1. If I read you correctly, you're implying that Requiem's Nictus is much older but lived most of it in the future, or at least the future before merging in the cave?
  2. For some reason, a squash is not the food that comes to mind when considering Mako.
  3. I would very much like to see a browser with a wig.
  4. Truly sorry to hear this, Turric. I appreciate your courage and trust in revealing this. Though I only know other players through their forum postings and speech balloons, the "Fallen But Not Forgotten" forum is one I wish could stay empty. While chatting about characters seems trivial in light of this, might I suggest letting the devs know what servers those characters are on? I'm not in any medical danger, thank goodness, but having just lost a friend to a motorcycle accident when he was simply driving home from work, it got me thinking that I might need to designate a close friend and former player to alert the forums if one day Techwright suddenly falls silent for any reason other than a willing departure from the game.
  5. I was not there for the end. (Visiting another universe at the time.) These "'Ghostbuster' science blasters" have me intrigued. Is it possibly the Beam Rifle powerset with something like the DUST cannon look? Some of the shots like "Overcharge" and "Disintegrate" look a bit like the Ghostbuster stuff.
  6. "Unaging" is probably a better term than the "conditional immortality" I suggested as a stop-gap term.
  7. If only licensing were possible. I'd buy a mug each with every archetype icon. *sigh* I may not have a paycheck that week, but I'd have an awesome mug collection at work! Out of pure curiosity, do you have a design for villain>rogue>vigilante>hero?
  8. Are you referring to chronological releases? If so, Going Rogue corresponded with Issue 18, so you might look into Issue 19 material and later for what comes after. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Issues I don't know red side well, but @Snarky just might as he's worked through just about everything.
  9. Is it wrong that I now wish this guy to team with Steve Martin for "Dueling Banjos"?
  10. As we already have the option to take or ignore a safeguard/mayhem mission, I'd be for this if the PvP version were a 3rd option, not a primary. If taken though, how do you line up the opposing force? It's not like they unlock their mission at the same moment? Perhaps this would actually use the LFG panel, allowing players to queue to be the opposition when a safeguard/mayhem PvP mission is accepted. Alternatively, create a token or marker of some kind to given to every player on the team that can be surrender to secure a spot on a PVP play later.
  11. Saw it this morning on Steam. Currently at OVERWHELMINGLY POSITIVE with nearly 52,000 votes. I'm waiting on a new video card first, but it looks very promising.
  12. Hmm, "immortal" can be confusing, especially since others do play fast and loose with the term. I'd always heard "eternal" as something with no beginning nor end, or something that exists outside of time. "Immortal" should then be something that has an origin point, but never ends after that, or transcends time at some point. I don't know that English has a good word for "something that has an origin, but exists indefinitely unless stopped by an external force". Thus a lot of people use "immortal" to represent this as well. Perhaps "conditional immortality" would be a stop-gap term until a better one is found. You found the one I found. Good job! Yeah, so far, it sounds like Shadowstar may be the oldest merged being up to Issue 27, perhaps the oldest of all immortals as this thread defines. But someone else may discover another. A good find. It fits the first category: longevity through supplementary means. Is there in-game material to confirm an origin in Ancient Greece? The Homecoming wiki is remarkably light on details.
  13. Sky Raider Helicarrier sounds intriguing. I wonder if it could be treated as an event or pseudo-Giant Monster, to appear over Terra Volta some zone currently lacking a bit, like Terra Volta or Kalisti Warf? I'd really not considered an instance functioning as a shrinking mission, but man, that is good! I'm game for Gamester's gift factory. Invisible maze does sound good, so long as its not just an invisible "blue cave", too tight to maneuver well in 3rd person view. I'd suggest the addition of some additional surprises along the way, like pop-up gun turrets. I'm not a turtle, I've no desire to go into sewers.
  14. So how did it all come together? Is this something we can do ourselves? (Except for putting it on a laptop case! 😁 ) And are there options for bumper stickers or car interior window decals?
  15. Hmm...that's a tricky one. On the surface it matches to most of my conditions, however, the souvenir text from the mission arc reads "...convinced him to become part of the creature...". That creature fits the condition of "who/which were never mortal". So yeah, tricky. Made even more so by the realization that "become part of" works for Kheldians as well. I suspect the best way to solve this is to say I'm looking at two categories then: 1. Longevity through supplemental means (gaining power from the Well, creating a cybernetic body, taking a youth serum, cellular shape shifting, etc.) 2. Longevity through the merger of two or more beings. Well done for getting me to rethink all that. So...any takers on either category? In considering Option #2, I've already discovered one that supposedly has had a longer lifespan than Marcus Valerius, but I'm curious to see if anyone else comes up with the name or something older.
  16. Isn't part of the Summer Block Buster a little like that?
  17. Looks like he was in an episode of Worzel Gummidge, Jon Pertwee's other major series, making yet another Doctor that Cribbins worked with.
  18. A) It looks awesome! B) That better indeed be your own laptop. I can't tell you what a pain it is for the imaging technician for 13000 business computers and have 1 out of 10 of them coming back for reassignment with stickers (Including My Little Pony! In the professional workplace, even!) all over them that one then has to somehow remove without damaging the casing...Aaaarrrrgghh! Um...at least, that's what I heard.
  19. If that's the case, you'd better have bought a lottery ticket.
  20. Per the lore, who is the oldest mortal who became immortal and is still around? I refer specifically to the time up to which the game is set: Issue 27. I do not refer to eternals or any who/which never were mortal, like the Well. I'm also not referring to anything future, which I know has Oroboros characters with extremely long lifespans, some of which did have a long lifespan before Paragon City of Issue 27's year. If there's a Praetorian who is the best fit, that's acceptable. I know Gerhardt Eisenstadt began a mortal life in the 1800s as a Prussian toymaker, though I don't recall the year. Who is older than him?
  21. Let me guess...you've posted that before.
  22. How are memorial characters decided upon? Ascendant would be obvious as the player was best known for his Bob Newhart-like phone calls between Ascendant and agent "Saul". But what of the others? What happens when a player has several characters rather than a focus character?
  23. What potential fighting venue, not currently in the game, might make for an interesting fighting venue? I'll open with: shopping mall. It could be active or run-down, or deserted. I got thinking about this when a coworker was showing me footage of the first-person shooter The Anacrusis. While I understand this takes place on some massive space ship, the wide open spaces shown in the clip reminded me a little of a multi-story mall, and I realized the potential for instanced combat in CoH. Even the smaller spaces that the player is darting in and out of resemble spacing for boutique shops and mall restrooms, and would keep things interesting in more compact spaces without the dreaded "blue cave" constant compressed space problem. I'll set that video at a point where hopefully you can see what I mean:
