Hmmmmm, I would not use /fire on a defender unless it is for thematic reasons. I mean, go ahead and use it if you want /fire, but I think you can get more out of a different secondary. If you are looking at a time defender I would instead use a proc focused build. You will see far more performance for your money that way. @Redlynnehas a few time/dp builds in his no escape post that utilize procs effectively. Another thread you may find some nice proc builds that meet your wants is the new offender thread.

I also haven't had a problem with it's accuracy, but I take maneuvers and tactics on almost all my toons. The TP mag though, why on Earth can I not TP +4 bosses? I can stun them, hold them, confuse them, fear them, immobilize them, but not TP them? It makes no sense. I like to slot wormhole with a kb to kd IO too, that way the mobs just fall straight down in a nice little pile for AOEs.

This, if you slot both an FF proc and a Sudden Acceleration proc it gives you a nice boost to recharge. The problem is as a force fielder, you don't have a way to deal with the end drain outside of ageless destiny. If you are ok with that or you team with someone who has end tools often, I would go this route. Someone asked for an FF build a while ago and I included repulsion field in it.

1. The build posted is a defender 2. Do you also have softcapped melee and ranged defense? If so please post the build. Making an end efficient storm corruptor is not the problem, making an end efficient corruptor that also has softcapped defenses is much harder. Add to that the fact that the storm powers do not scourge and I think defenders are a better option.

This is good advice, honestly I probably need to rebuild the whole thing without the agility alpha in order to fully utilize procs.

I think I have one saved. The trouble with /storm though, is that it is extremely end intensive, until you get a T3 ageless you are gasping for breath. It is a lot more difficult to solve your endurance problems on a corruptor than it is on a defender. It is a bit hard on both though due to storm summoning itself. As a corruptor your heal in dehydrate is a bit stronger, but as a defender all your defense power modifiers are higher and your storm summoning powers are a bit better. For these reasons I'd go with a defender, especially because most of your damage winds up coming from storming summoning.

Very well. I find that tactics alone is enough for the teams I run with. It's also another toggle to cast every mob after enervating and it just takes too much time per mob before you engage. Yeah, going a resist shield route generally gets a better result. You just need a way to get the defenses you'll need. On a corruptor that usually means taking maneuvers, weave, and combat jumping, but you also want hasten for perma AM. You can actually get to 75% s/l resists without rune of protection, but you sacrifice other things along the way. So, lets see what happens when we take a resist shield and combat jumping but no rune of protection. As you can see you lose a lot of recharge and I couldn't get to the s/l resist cap AND keep 45% M/R defense.

No, the most effective defender builds utilize procs in order to maximize their dps. So, their most effective primaries are the ones with access to many procs.

Both a corruptor and a defender can do the job you are looking for. A defender will generally be easier to build for it and most support sets are better on a defender. That being said, if you want to roll a /time /kin /dark or /cold, I'd go corruptor. A /time Corruptor will be the tankiest early on without set bonuses. The combination of farsight and time's juncture really is just that good. A /kin Corruptor is incredibly damaging and provides huge damage buffs to your team and yourself (to the cap). The problem with kin though, is that it needs sets and careful slotting in order to become tanky. It can be done and it is my personal favorite, but it requires set bonuses and lvl 50 IOs to truly be tanky. You don't want /dark so I'm skipping this one. /Cold provides lots of -res and an end buff in heat loss. So you won't have to worry about endurance if you get enough recharge. Hitting the softcap is made easier with arctic fog and you have benumb for some sweet -regen on AVs. The problem with cold is the distinct lack of useful heal. Therefore, I'd recommend pairing it with water blast if you go this route. Water blast provides a self heal in dehydrate and has good ST and AoE. I could mention storm in support of being a corruptor too, but it really does work better on a defender unless you have a pocket kin to team with. Given what you said in your post I would recommend either a proc monster time defender or a fire/time/dark corruptor. @Auroxis has a great fire/time/dark corruptor build that is very popular on the corruptor forums. Time manipulation will be the tankiest set on offer for a defender or corruptor.

I can make a build and I think I'm pretty good at it (you all can be the judge), but without a secondary I can't start. Given what @Frostweaver has said (and I think you should heed his advice) do you really want a KM brute? Given the long animation times of KM I would think you would want a set and forget kind of secondary. So how about bio armor or willpower? Would you prefer a stalker for KM?

I agree. I also don't like combos in sets generally as they complicate things and you don't get enough benefit out of it to manage it appropriately. I would say water blast is another one where you can ignore the combo mechanic and everything works just fine.

Today I learned two things: 1. I can solo an ITF at +4x8 with bosses with a specialized fire/kin/dark corruptor build. 2. I never want to try solo a hard TF like this again. I have not faceplanted this much since live in the before IO days. Thank god I had the dark Rez. It still took me an embarrassing amount of time to solo it. I admit that a big part of this was being unfamiliar with where the generals were, the mission objectives, positioning, the AV fights (when you are in a team you don't have to know) etc. but Nictus dwarves also completely F me up and so the second mission was a huge slog. I didn't have rune of protection in the build because I thought I could get by with T4 Clarion, but my resistance to negative is only 22-24% so the damage they did to me alone was very painful. Then add on top of that the -recharge debuffs the Nictus inflict and I just couldn't heal through it so I died. So, I switched to T4 barrier, well then I got stunned and died. I actually had the most luck with T4 ageless, maybe because it was getting around the debuffs? I finally made it through the second mission and went on to the third, but had trouble finding the generals (I'm normally in teams of 8 that just kill everything). Then I get to the two AVs, I pulled Romulus and I just barely managed to get through the Regen with the -max hp interface on Romulus (fight was much better once I finally struggled and inched him down to 30% hp and started getting some scourge). Romulus constantly ran away making me use siphon speed more to stop him from running so far, eating into my dps. That fight still took sooooo long. Then on to Requiem and that was another hugely long fight with running and stuns, me dying, and switching to Clarion again. Then the last mission, kill a bunch of traitors? No problem, super quick. Kill Nictus buffed Romulus? Omfg never again. I refuse. Adding to all of this was me dying on the AV fights and having to go back and try all over again. This was absurdly difficult for me to do, this was also the first time I have ever tried to solo any AV or TF with a toon (well I did solo an AV on a stalker on live before IOs, but that was only because I didn't understand what the difficulty settings meant). Anyway, thought I'd share that I did it here, but never again. Never again.

Ok, here you go. Not a lot of proc opportunities here. There are however lots and lots of recharge possibilities, so I went that route. Soul drain is perma, 70% s/l res, softcapped M/R def, and you have repulsion field that will knockdown instead of knocking back while also sometimes providing a 100% recharge proc. Just make sure to only use repulsion field with T3-4 Ageless destiny as you have no way to mitigate the end drain. The two things that you can do with a lot of the ally mez protection powers that are useful is to either take the pvp +3% def IO and save a slot or 4 slot it with reactive defenses for the melee defense. If you have a mez protection (*sigh* empathy) that doesn't add resistance also though its essentially useless.

Yeah I should have mentioned that it would be unenhanceable. I assume that a fix for PB+Farsight would also make clarion radial+farsight not work. -

Yep. PB+Farsight is such an incredible amount of defense to everyone in your team or just yourself when solo that it trivializes builds and content. Not to mention that a time defender can softcap their ENTIRE TEAM by themselves at 50 with radial Clarion+power boost+Farsight providing 45% defense to all. That is absolute madness to have in a single power that affects yourself too. On top of that, it also has +tohit giving everyone full base damage Snipes and likely softcapping their tohit against mobs. I would be against lowering the base defense of farsight. Mainly for corruptors sake, they only have like 4 secondary sets that are preferable to take on them over a defender and if you care more about buffs a time defender is still preferable. Then you have the proc changes adding to the strength of PB+FS, you no longer have to build for defense with your slots if you are a time/x defender and so you can spend all those slots on procs. I know procs are a seperate issue, but they show how much more you can benefit from PB+FS if you know what you are doing. The interaction between farsight and powerboost (or/and Clarion) is so strong that it trivializes content. The game is easy enough, I'd vote to add some resistance to all to farsight to make it unboostable (this way its also a small, but not inconsequential, buff. Maybe 5% res to all or something). -

I am currently working on my first Dominator. If I want to perma Mez an AV, it looks like I need to go above 50 mag in order to get over the purple triangles of doom. I know that dominators can do this, but how? The build I am working with could only do it with confuse after around 30-40 seconds and would need to constantly be reapplying confuse every 5 seconds or so. I have looked at the other sets though and I am scratching my head how any powersets could do it with hold or stun. Sooooo, anyone have experience with this? Could you explain how it is done please? Edit: NM, I figured it out. Perma-dom+my t1 hold will do it by itself with time after 18-22 seconds
