  1. I think I'd put two recharge IOs in Build up to try to have it up more often. Feel free to take super jump. I took super speed for the ranged def so any travel power will work.
  2. Fair enough. You've thought about everything and so you have it all covered. I will say that I look at Infrigidate as a non-worthless power now, so that is certainly a plus. I really dislike the choices that being a corruptor thrusts on you sometimes, like being forced to take time crawl for instance.
  3. Yes, please post it. The fireball is more a side effect of wanting melt armor than anything else, haha. Oh, and radiation siphon seemed better for the ST attack chain than the heal, bit /shrug.
  4. Not building a specific farmer my resistance would be higher to a specific type if that was the case. Trying to get slotted ST attack chain, decent AOEs, 45% melee def, and 32% other types (I'm ok with it not having 32% psionic). Oh, and then as much -res as I can for the group of course. I think what I have will work, but I am a bit concerned with the amount of resistance I have and yet I'm not sure how to get more or the less common types.
  5. Ok, so the thought here is to try to get as much -res for a team as possible while still playing a brute. I have softcapped melee def and I figure if I am being hit from range a lot I'll pop a purple bumping my typed def to 44.5% to all but psionic. Do I really need ablative armor and parasitic aura? I don't have any travel powers which I am ok with, but I could certainly take one if I could drop one of those powers. I don't know...I'm trying to get all the -res I can, but it seems my recharge is really taking a hit.   6. Why are you using low level enhancements in this build (mostly lvl 27)? The ATOs will automatically be 50, but you have them slotted as lvl 27. Same goes for the winter IOs. You have also used +3 Hamis in steam spray, these only go to +2 even though mids allows you to put in +3s. In order to softcap defenses you would need vengeance and a purple insp as you have mentioned. I personally dont like relying on someone dying in order to have good defenses. Still I know it is much harder to softcap defenses and have a proc build on a corruptor due to the lower numbers (this is why /time is easier to build for proc corruptors). For me, I would prefer a build with higher defenses even if that meant I had to take a bit less procs, I would also likely offset the damage loss by getting perma (or close) soul drain. The extra base damage on a corruptor really shines when you can buff its dmg.

  8. You don't have enough accuracy in beta decay. This is the build that I am using for my fire/rad brute. I didnt get the T9 in fire because its dps is lower than incinerate, scorch, and cremate and I didn't get the T9 in rad because I can't make it perma and I am survivable enough. I think ranged might be a problem for your build. This build can eat a purple to cap range def, but it is already at 35% ranged def. Melee def is softcapped with beta decay (assuming the 8.45% -tohit is resisted at a .65 multiplier like most other debuffs in the game on +3s). Oh, and I don't like small arc cones so breath of fire is out.   9. Is barrier a requirement? What if I can get to softcapped range and melee def without it? This would allow you to take ageless and not have any end problems and would allow you to take a different alpha as well.
  10. So the best ST attack chain for ice is Freeze Ray> Bitter Ice Blast> Ice Bolt. The problem is that this requires absolutely crazy amounts of recharge to pull off and it does not consider procs. So let's assume a normal level of recharge of 150% (I believe you can reach this without too much difficulty on a nature/ice while appropriately slotting for def and res also) and factor in proc attacks. I will also assume you took ice bolt and not ice bolt and ice blast. I believe the best proc'd ST attack chain would be Bitter Freeze Ray> Bitter Ice Blast> Freeze Ray>Ice Bolt >Bitter Ice Blast> Freeze Ray (then you would start with bitter freeze ray again). With procs Bitter Freeze Ray becomes your best attack due to being able to slot 6 damage procs in it and its higher cast time of 2.64s (aracana time) with its 15 second base recharge means those procs go off a lot, this is a bit funny considering Bitter Freeze Ray has terrible DPS in a traditional build.

  12. Soul mastery gives power boost which does the same thing as power build up, but it also gives you soul drain on a longer recharge than dark mastery. On a defender clarion radial+farsight gives 30% defense to all, which at lvl 50 is enough to cap almost every build (at 50), which is why I would go with dark mastery so you can have perma soul drain. Now, you are welcome to go power mastery or soul mastery to add the full 45-47% defense to all, but 95% of the time that extra defense is unneeded. The problem with going power mastery over soul mastery in my opinion is that it gives you nothing that soul mastery doesn't also give. With dark embrace and tough, you will already be at the s/l resist cap, so the higher numbers on temporary invulnerability is wasted and at least dark embrace gives you negative resistance also. The slotting of soul drain also offers more attractive options than any attack in power mastery. You can slot soul drain with a 20% -res fury of the gladiator proc, which allows you to boost the dmg of the whole team not just your own at a 90% proc rate. Whether to go dark mastery or soul mastery depends on whether you want to give your team +20% def or +32%, (if you are using clarion radial also these numbers are +32% or +42% respectively and even more if you take the agility alpha) but you should always go soul mastery over power mastery in my opinion (unless there are character concept concerns).

I'm not used to making builds where the sky isnt the limit, so I'm sure there are probably cheaper/better ways to do things. Anyway, this is what I came up with.   14. The -regen in time hold is not worth it even if used in conjunction with time's crawl, I would skip them both. I would not slot -def in water attacks, I might slot an achilles -res proc though that is a -def IO. Time is a very end heavy set, especially because it gives you so much recharge that you use your attacks much more often. However, the +recov in chronoshift only lasts for 30 seconds, you will probably get more out of slotting it with heal IOs than with +end, but your mileage may vary. I would also take dark mastery as this will allow you to have perma soul drain, dark embrace, and dark consumption (for some end recov but on a long recharge). You could take soul mastery for the power boost however, but then you get soul drain on a much longer recharge that is not possible to perma. I would also build a proc build as time on a defender generally has more than enough defense and could use more dmg.

This will work just fine, if you wanted the energy def to be fully capped you could take one annihilation proc out of whirlpool (it won't proc much anyway) and add it to water jet and use thunderstrike in waterjet, but energy is close enough that I wouldn't worry about it.   16. This is true, but anything with -def can take an achilles proc, thats only 20% though and it does not stack. I would say that you will probably get more out of using a defender and procing your attacks. Radiation blast has some decent proc options so that is the way I'd go if I was trying to solo AVs on a corr or def. Also you get higher def and res values on the defender making it easier to hit softcap while keeping procs.
  17. Kin/Sonic Defender, boost your whole teams damage into the stratosphere. You can build it with incredible survivability too, like softcapped def, max s/l res, with perma hasten. Super fun. If I'm playing on my fire/kin corruptor though, typically I hope to see a Sonic/Sonic or a Cold/Sonic defender, really just anything with a lot of -res.

Ok, so based on my experience with corruptors and trying to make them as tanky as possible I'd say a resist set would be better than a defense set in terms of overall effectiveness if you have a billion inf to spend. So, not SR, then again the sentinel gets lower modifiers on the defensive pull powers so maybe it would be better, but I think I'll try a res set first with the mind link epic and see how it goes. You will also want a set with a heal. The slotting in fire/fire is very good with plenty of options and it gets extra dmg as a secondary, so I am going to try to make a tank build based on that. I managed to get softcapped Melee/Range def with 63% s/l, 46.7% E/N, Capped fire res, 31% cold, 22% toxic, and 17.6% toxic. Unfortunately, hasten is 8 seconds from perma, but you have a heal and an end heal also. I could probably improve this if I stared at it forever and hopefully get these values or better with perma hasten, but this is something to start with at least. This build was made from the mindset of trying to do damage while being able to also survive well enough. This could still take EBs in this game no problem and due to the fire resistance could fire farm decently if it had a partner to boost its damage a bit. If all I was trying to do was negate damage I might try ice/ice (for the slows because your resistances would be so high), but if I was to make a sentinel I think I'd start with this. Edit: In terms of fulfilling a true tank role and taking and holding aggro, its not possible. Even if you take provoke, your ability to hold aggro is so depressingly low that it isn't worth it. I tried to make a tank defender with provoke and it was so lackluster I've abandoned the toon.   19. You are allowed a very far and wide amount of leeway when things can be said to be done with parody or satire, but homage is not quite the same thing. Still this is modeled after a real life person and that person is not copyrighted. I could make a character called 'The Donald' or "Obama" without breaking copyright law. However, the only place this gets murky is that Stan Lee is a real person and a copyrighted character because he has been in comic books as well. I think if your character is based on the man himself it should be ok.
  20. Before I start, I'd like to know if you plan on playing this character in melee range or from afar. You have soul drain so I assume you will be in melee range so how attached to fly are you? Would buying a jetpack from the P2W vendor do? It seems you are kind of all over the place with your build going for recharge some places or s/l res or range/melee def in others. You don't need to five slot LoTG because you are at the s/l res cap with wild growth. Same with lifegiving spores, wouldn't golgi hamis be better? I don't like entangling aura as it is mag 2 and so the only things it affects are minions and lieutenants who die too quickly for it matter, you'd get more defense with maneuvers minimally slotted than the 3.75% ranged you get from 6 lockdowns. Superior winter IOs aren't that useful unless you are specifically building something to fire farm with. I would use something like this. You are playing nature so I assume you like teaming and this will be softcapped as long as a single other person on your team has maneuvers or a defense buff. Everything else is close-ish to perma.   21. I updated this again and its beautiful. 195% global recharge while keeping capped fire resistance and softcapped fire defense. The slotting of everything is also much better in my opinion, fireball will knockdown and apply a -res sometimes (it has a lot of recharge so it lowers the proc chance), rain of fire will immobilize sometimes and inferno will apply a 20% -res proc (I think its 90% of the time, but I'm not sure). You will be at the recharge cap with one force feedback proc in repel or for the first 30 seconds of ageless (with 2 siphon speeds for the ageless to hit you to cap). This is the 9th iteration of this build according to my save files, so I have spent considerable time on perfecting it and I am now vet lvl 120 on this toon (Darkir on Torchbearer. My SG friends and I have found that it is faster to farm the carnival, cave, or family map with this and one brute than it is to farm them with two brutes. It's super fun to play. Go kill shit. Softcapped Melee/Range def, damn near capped s/l, almost perma soul drain (should be perma with an FF proc), use dehydrate to heal as it is your only one, lower overall acc than I'd like (could someone tell me if hurricane has an acc check for knockdown? This is all I care about for the power in this build) and you dark consumption for some end recov. I wouldn't run hurricane unless you have Ageless destiny.   23. Just a to address one other thing, take dark mastery for dark embrace and soul drain (dark consumption doesnt hurt either). Soul drain is very very good though try to get it close to perma.
  24. OK, essentially this question boils down to doing more dmg or having more defense and resists. However, due to Ice being so procable (its a word now, I made it one right now) this becomes much simpler. Roll a defender get softcaped def and s/l res and proc the hell out of it. Make sure you don't take the spiritual or agility alpha as this will hurt your proc rate as will recharge. This should allow you to do more dmg than a corruptor most of the time (very little if anything beats a scourging corruptor but we rarely have the opportunity to scourge when it matters). Normally I would root for the corruptor with careful slotting, but in this case I do think that defender will be better with high investment.
  25. Soldiers of Arachnos with their toggles and the leadership toggles can give about 29% def to all. It's insane, that is very very useful when leveling up, less so when you are with a bunch of fully IO'd out toons, but meh.
