It's great, innit? Alright, some things. You are overflowing in acc so you don't need either Tactics or the fourth slot in Environmental Protection. You also have a little too much defense. Either aim at 45% or aim at 40%, but everything in between is wasted. If you go to options, configuration, Effects&Base Values and put Base ToHit to 48% you will see your chance of hitting +3. As you will see even without the ToHit of Follow-Up you're already at the 95% cap or completely flying past at 120%+ (and FU easily stacks twice, so this goes even further). I've tried to optimize things a bit while still respecting your power picks. Two damage procs in Follow-Up now, two in Focus, a -res proc in your aura, those are bound to increase damage a bit. Shaved a second in Hasten.

Interface Procs are Bugged...my Test Results might show why
Sovera replied to Bopper's topic in Bug Reports
You just reminded me of selling CoH to friends back when I first played it: 'You can team from level 1 on! You're -encouraged- to! You get -more- XP and kill faster!! You don't need to slog through the levels as a healer and sloooowly whittling mobs as you solo. You can play a tank and tank from the get go, not just at max level!' It takes playing the myriad MMOs out there, not just WoW, to know how we are told to solo from level 1 onwards to max level (with breaks for dungeons here and there) and then suddenlygooutthereandgroupupwithothers and good luck for the new player to break their solo habits (hunters thinking they could solo dungeon NPCs with their pets set to take agro).- 45 replies

At that point we might as well be insta level 50 with all incarnates unlocked and ready to be slotted.

Patch Notes for February 18th, 2020

HYPE! -
I'm a merit farmer myself. Though farming is too strong a word for it. I just make alts, new alts, all the time, and then level them through TFs. Each ends earning about 100ish millions worth in merits. And this accumulates. I rarely stick at 50 for long since that's me loitering around PD doing nothing. I don't need XP and don't need money, so I have no reason to go out and do content. I could go out to do content with friends but they don't do content either (outside farming radio missions and AE farming, neither of which interests me). So I reach level 50, slot up, look proud, sit there for a few days, and make a new alt. Another thing that makes money accumulate is that I don't leave my money scattered on those alts. The expensive IOs, the inf, everything is /respecced and tossed back into the bin for my next alt. I only stopped this when I reached 1b in cold cash and have left some of my favorite characters (Ice/Bio Stalker, Claws/Bio Scrapper, Fire/Fire Tanker) fully slotted to the gills in case I ever feel like playing them again. This still has me with 400 mill floating around. As some pointed there is no real point in earning a LOT of inf. We only need as much inf as we require to slot our characters. When I see people talking of farming for hours to earn inf and i think back to the thread about the guy in the Market sub-section talking how he was trying to make 1b in 24 hours starting with absolutely zero inf it makes me smirk. He lost the attempt btw, he 'only' made 830 mill starting from zero inf. But a few hours after the 24 hour mark the rest of the stuff in the AH sold and he reached his goal.

Mid's Reborn: Hero Designer
Sovera replied to Metalios's topic in Mids' Reborn Hero Designer's Forum
I see what you mean. The tooltip in game does not show the base value but just like you said rather after being altered by accuracy and to-hit and etc. Following your explanation I went to the character creation and looked at the powers. Consume does indeed have the same 1 accuracy as other powers, with others like Fire Breath having 1.20. Thanks for the help o/ Edit: I thought it was 38% for +3? -
Mid's Reborn: Hero Designer
Sovera replied to Metalios's topic in Mids' Reborn Hero Designer's Forum
I have a doubt, and I am not sure how to deal with it so I'm here asking for help. I'm leveling a Fire Armor Tanker and in HD Consume is shown as having the same basic 38% chance to hit a +3 as the other attacks do. But I found it strange because it so rarely missed, so I right clicked and checked the Info. It shows the accuracy as 1.53x, but when I edited HD the accuracy had such a jump I wasn't sure I was doing it right. I went to look at a /Kin Controller and Transfusion shows as having 45% base chance to hit a +3, but when I went to look at the Info in game it showed as having 1.97x accuracy. So, I'm lost. What does the accuracy in the Info tooltip correspond to in HD? -
Not sure if times using Hybrid toggled on really help anything other than muddle the waters. There is a reason why people tend to post without its use to serve as a baseline. I quit on my Fire/Bio at 48. Dat low damage... Trying to kill mobs in AoE and they run away at 20% (or even more when under RoF, and I do mean -run- away). I sort of feel like finishing it on the PTS to test the build since I think I had it tight. Edit: Nvm, incarnates still aren't free.

Patch Notes for February 11th, 2020

*crawls weakly* Must... have... patch... New Fire/Fire tanker... having to... chase.. mobs.. all the time... Buzzkiller... *strangled noises* -
Check the Pylon thread. Kanil managed a two minute mark, which is rather okay/above average. We are just so used to TW one minute marks that we sniff at two minutes. It will depend on the AV. Smash/Lethal users have their tales of horror against Marauder.
-
Also, the sacrifices made to increase S/L defense to at least 40% are convoluted and steal from a variety of ways including usually cornering Destiny as Barrier and not allowing to slot more damage procs. Something like Energy Armor allows to easily reach 45% without even the fighting pool (look, a whole free new pool!).
-
Add titles. Add honorifics. For example GW2 was one of those games where I could add honorifics to my character's name when I made multiples of it. So Sovera became Girl Genius Sovera (engineer, people kept mistaking her for a boy because Asura :D), Holoeidetic Sovera (mesmer), Chamaleonware Sovera, etc etc
-
It does both. A small repel and a KB. But the KB is exacerbated by the repel which gives the KB more inertia. So the Overwhelming proc turns it into a KD but the repel still pushes the mob away some, just not as exaggeratedly as before. Considering BB is our strongest skill it's something I live with.
-
Yeah, that would explain some of it. Flares and no hasten and etc are going to take things down. BB with Overwhelming in it is bearable but still eh. what's more annoying to me is that despite having KB I can't slot a FF in it.
-
Those pylon numbers seem pretty bad. I know Sentinels are mediocre, but the Fire/Bio I'm leveling for once 'felt' decent. I'll have to finish leveling it and T4 it and give it a spin.
-
That's very interesting. So basically Psi's usual bad times can be placed to blame on GPS and people being eager to see the biggo damage and thus cutting off Insight upkeep. This is a bit like Kinetic Melee tbh. Thanks for the sharing of info, Kanil!
-
I started leveling one, though stopped at 20. Insight is fun though, I treat is as a second Build-up that randomly pops up on tis own. I just didn't feel the set did anything out of the ordinary so it was pretty generic. Slow animations, bad starter AoE up to 32, and I was feeling weary just thinking of keeping track of Insight without numbers in order to only use Greater Psi Sword at the very end of it. I ought to ask @Kanil if he tested without GPS and what he got since that would keep the rotation simple and even with Insight simply a random damage boost and not fuss about it. Though it's probably like trying to use Rad and not use Devastating Blow (bad idea). The set did feel like it hit hard but I was fighting a lot of Clockwork who are weak to psi. There are a few things I would try to work in your build like a FF proc in TK blow. I'll post mine so you can see if there are ideas you can grab from it. Change FA for Parasitic or whatever pleases you.

The more I play the less I think AoE is important. Except for farming. It's a bit of a volte-face after being part of the crowd touting the game as being mostly AoE but the more I play the more it is how I feel. Farming, or under level 25, and even it's sketchy. So the buffs feel a lot like spreadsheet buffs. It's nice to hit more targets, but when are we surrounded by 16 enemies except in a farm? I'm sure people will bring up the times they managed to get three packs together and etc, but in practice we jump into a pack of 10-12 mobs, first random AoE casually tossed out kills all minions and it's down to 4-5 mobs, who are then AoEd down, sure, but mostly STed. But FE + BU + Burns makes me think the ST aspect can be accounted for even if not at brute/scrapper levels.
-
What about single target? Fiery Embrace + BU looks like sudden burst which has been nagging at me. Rad and Spines might be the hot thing, but an early access Burn that serves for ST and AoE purpose seems like a lynchpin like Stalkers fixing ST problems.
-
I leveled a Beam/Bio, and while curious as to what you've found my experience was that the damage is ultimately the usual heh Sentinel level. I think still better than the norm. Maybe it just needed more procs. While /Bio is good it trades too much for the vaunted Offensive Adaptation in order to still softcap defense.
-
Scrapper, why not. I just leveled one and really enjoyed it. Rib Cracker is a very well made animation.
-
Your progenitor is boring and ugly. /Fire in a Scrapper is a dubious proposition. The whole set hinges around Burn and on a Scrapper the mobs will just run away. As others mentioned why not try Tanker instead?
-
Still my fav combo in the game. While I only played a /fire once and didn't finish leveling it I really liked how Burn filled both an AoE and ST hole. Sets with little AoE benefit a lot from it and sets with gaps or weak ST ALSO benefit from it.

I've fought against the so called minimal FX with Bio for months now. I would LOVE to have a dye channel that is called 'invisible' since it would solve EVERY problem most people have with cluttered FX sets. For example, I rather love the 'veins of power' part of the Bio FX and think it looks really cool. But what the frick is it with the glowy hands that can't be tinted appropriately and the drippy FX? To the invisible bin with you!!
