  1. GOD MODE WP/EM TANK I was asked in game by a fellow player on the Excelsior Server if I would post my build on these forums. So I am doing so with a detailed explanation and rundown of this build. Update For anyone who wishes to add Power Crash to their build, simply swap Energy Punch for Power Crash, take the Superior Gauntleted Fist Enhancements out of Energy Punch and place them in Power Crash and absolutely nothing changes about the build. The only difference now is, you do more DPS. History So, I have played around with WP/EM for a long time, trying to find the most all round optimized build for this particular Tank build, trying to cover myself under as many circumstances as possible. This build does not just focus on one damage type resist and does not focus on just one defense type, but rather all of them. This is an all round Tanker build for ALL situations. Psi, End drain, Toxic, Dark, Energy and the most common damage type, S/L damage. This build also requires to be maxed out to be completely effective. But once you are there, you will be a living God. What this build offers Soft Capped Defense to all except S/L Damage and Psionic, which only misses the mark by 1.1% S/L and 3% Psionic Capped Resist to S/L 46.3% Resist to Fire/Cold 59.8% Resist to Energy/Neg Energy 36.6% Resist to Toxic 74.1% Resist to Psionic End Drain mitigation through high defense to Energy, which is most commonly used to Sap 531% Regeneration with only 1 NPC near you 911% (not intentional) Regeneration with 10 NPC's near you 158% Max HP with 2960 HP (3534 is cap) -5.45% ToHit with RttC with another -5% with Diamagnetic Core Flawless Interface 212% Endurance Recovery with Max Endurance at 119% 1.8 Endurance Use per Second, 4.21 Endurance Recovery per Second Gap Filling Stats (Melee Core Embodiment) 62.4% Fire/Cold 75.9% Energy/Neg Energy 52.7% Toxic 90% Psionic 1182% Regeneration (Strength of Will) 58.8% Fire/Cold 72.3% Energy/Neg Energy 49.1% Toxic 86.6% Psionic 242% Endurance Recovery (Both Active At Once) 74.9% Fire/Cold 88.4% Energy/Neg Energy 65.2% Toxic 90% Psionic 1182% Regeneration 242% Endurance Recovery Weakness (Personal Experience) Auto Hit Endurance Recovery Debuffs Auto Hit Regeneration Debuffs Stackable -Resist and -Defense which is highly rare and can be countered with SoW and/or Melee Core Embodiment Playstyle Experience Know what you are going up against to cover your weaknesses in Resistance. If you are fighting an AV on some of the tougher Task Forces/Trials in which uses Fire/Cold or Energy/Neg Energy or even Toxic, be sure to pop an Orange or two, or use your T9 and/or Melee Core Embodiment. Those situations are extremely rare on teams, since most teams buff you beyond needing any such abilities. I have personally yet to have any need of them, even running lowbie content with teams who have little or no resistance buffs. Your defense alone makes the character feel Godly, add with that the Resists and the Regeneration and you'll feel the POWAH! I have yet to see my health drop below a "Meh" concern. I never run out of Endurance unless hit with an Auto Hit Endurance Recovery Debuff, which is easily countered with Ageless. Couple this with the power of Energy Melee and you have yourself a solid Tank. You will notice that this build does not use Hasten (OH MER GERD!) and there is a good reason for it. I don't need it. It does not affect the T9 Strength of Will because of the mechanics of that power. My attacks recharge fast enough on their own, there is zero down time and my AoE has a fast enough recharge as well. There are no click buff powers that would benefit from Hasten...so all in all, Hasten is a wasted power and a waste of time. Hasten is literally a useless power with this build and serves no purpose. Without Hover, you lose a bit of Defense, however, I can honestly say that it is extremely rarely needed...if ever. Maybe...and I do say maybe, I can see using it in an AV fight where having the extra defense might give a slight advantage. However, with the buffs you get from your team, you won't need it. It's more of a just-in-case power than anything else and if you like, can be swapped out with any power of your choice, however, I personally use it as a place holder for Shield Wall +Resist IO. The same can be said with Resurgence as this power can also be swapped out with anything of your choice. I keep it as a just in case; being one less body a Defender has to revive under a high stressed situation can ease the pain of the Defender should another fall after I do. If the Tank goes down, the Mobs/AV will focus the next person on the Hate list. In the event that player goes down as well, I keep Resurgence so that the Defender/Troller can revive that player rather than stressing over two team mates. Simply put, this build in my opinion is a God Mode. This build is below if you are interested in giving it a try or wish to add your input; or would like to critique it. If you chose to use it, have fun! And always remember; like any other great power under your control, "With Great Power, Comes great Responsibility!" Enjoy and have fun! 2. Ditto. Or an option on the player side to fade or not fade all toggle powers. That way they can change it on their own end. I miss that sound Invuln Tanks had that would persist, when I stood next to an Invuln Tanker and heard his sound effects running, it felt like I was standing next to a being full of raw power. Now, they are quiet and meh. For me anyway. I'm a bit passionate about these things, maybe even too much, but that's me...very passionate about every thing and every one that I care about. 🙂
  3. I don't think so. Not all powers had the sounds nerfed. I personally miss all those sounds not fading, I wish there were a way for me to get them back without forcing them on others. Actually, since I am wishing here, I wish the OG Devs had made it an option to begin with instead of taking away from the the game something some of us loved. Same with the sound effects no longer stacking for Emp Heals and other random sound effect nerfs. The thing I hate most about these nerfs to sound effects and graphics, is that none of them are ever made an option, which really pisses me off. 😠
  4. Awwww, damn! How in the hell did I miss that! You rock, my man! Thank you! Yup yup, thank you very much. 🙂
  5. Or Psi Weaponry. IMO the set does not need more damage. God knows the last thing this game needs is more damage. 😄 I agree. Sacrificing AoE damage for good ST damage has always made the set worth it. What killed the set for me was the new animation that took from the set's loss of AoE DPS output trade-in for ST DPS with ET. IMO the change to ET destroyed the point of the set. Not to mention, that animation is hideous. ET used to have an awesome in your face animation that chained well with Total Focus. Now...not so much.
  6. You take that thumbs up back! How dare you, sir! Thumbsing up a nerf request to sound effects...HOW...DARE...YOU! 😄
  7. I like it as is. IMO there has been enough sound effects nerfed in this game that I find it stealing from my enjoyment of the game. Now, if you would like to request an option to adjust certain sound effects, I can agree to that, but changing them and forcing the change on everyone just because you don't like them I can't support. Remember, for every person who doesn't like something, there is a person who likes it.
  8. Okay, never mind, I figured it out. Turns out all my files were scattered, how the game was even able to run is beyond me, but I cleaned up my files, put them in the correct folders, and everything worked.
  9. Okay, having issues getting all of the maps to work. For example, I see nothing in Skyway, but I see all of them in Atlas. What am I doing wrong?
  10. I picked any power set that has a toggle debuff as a minor tweak because I feel that it takes too long to cast, most mobs are already dead before you can finish, especially as a /Rad. I picked what pretty much everyone else picked for the major rehaul/buff section. Bubbles, TA, Poison, although I felt that Sonic was more leaning toward the minor tweak section, seems most disagree with me.
  11. Ah, I was only kidding, man. I actually laughed when you wrote it. Made me take a look at myself and laugh. We're good, my man. 🙂
  12. My last couple of posts said all that I need to say about it. No point in saying more, especially since you believe that my little ol opinion brings forth the end of times, lol.
  13. The players are waaaaay OP. I agree. No buffing damage needed. Change animations, great, but buffing damage, hell no. Except Lightening... 😄
  14. Like I said, man. I don't have a dog in that fight. So I digressed on that. Just wanted to pose the question, is it REALLY that important to nerf? Is it really that game breaking? Or is this more of a gripe that it is currently on top of the list of the best? If they nerfed it, but still left it the best, would you be happy with that, or do you feel it has had its time and it's time for something else to reign king? My point, there is always a "best" and no matter how much we nerf stuff, it just brings the next best thing to the top, then people want that nerfed. Then something else makes it to the top and again, people want that nerfed. It seems to be a never ending loop of nerfs to each power set that ends up being top tier. However, if you guys feel that it is just unbearably game breaking, then by all means, I'll step aside and let ya at it. I don't particularly care for the set anyway, wouldn't bother me a bit if the code for it suddenly got lost and was hit by a mac truck, vanishing from the game entirely, lol.
  15. I would surely noticed if they used their AoE Knock Down, it's a very distinct sound.
  16. I don't doubt that, I just personally hardly ever see anyone play it...at least on Excelsior.
  17. Meh, like I said above, I just can't see it being a problem. I mean, if there were an insane amount of people playing TW and telling me how bad of a player I was for playing something different, then I could see nerfing it, but nobody hardly plays that set from what I can see. The set seems very slow and sluggish to me. I am assuming this is why the set does so much damage? IMO the set is insanely boring to play, which is why I never play mine, like ever. Extremely boring. It's just too damn slow. So to me, if somebody wants to dull their mind playing the set and they do more damage than me, then so be it...let them. From what I can see in game, few players play the set. If you nerf the set, I think the set would end up becoming nonexistent...it would be the Trick Arrow of Brutes/Tanks/Scrappers. I mean if you guys REALLY feel like it needs to be nerfed, then fine. I just think you'll do nothing than piss off the few players who actually plays the set. Is it really worth nerfing? Should we really care this much about it? I digress though, because honestly I don't even have a dog in this fight. Bonfire on the other hand, nobody took that power until KB to KD came out, the power was crap. Changing it IMO is just silly because of two reasons. A: Mobs die insanely fast...who gives a shit if it knocks bad guys down? It's not really helping the team IMO, but it sure gives the illusion that it does. B: Nerfing it is going to cause people to spec out of it, and it will yet again become a power nobody places in their builds. Leave it alone, with the state of the game now, nothing but OP players everywhere taking out mobs faster than a debuffer can land a solid anchor, who cares? Don't ruin the fun for everyone else. It's hardly game breaking. The overall DPS is what is game breaking, not some silly power with a KB to KD in it. The game is so broken now because of DPS that honestly, it's gone too far to fix. It's just that damn stupid OP broken IMO. Leave it alone before it gets worse.
  18. I play on Excelsior, and honestly, I just don't see very many Fire Trollers/Doms running around to care. I also don't see very many TW players out there. And to be honest, I even care less that some other set performs better than mine. I think the ONLY way this matters, is in PvP and to be honest, I don't give a damn about PvP in this game. I really hope this is not another nerf due to something that happens in PvP? If so, I just can't get on board with nerfing anything over PvP.
  19. Are you specifically talking about TW, TW in PvP, or TW with Bio?
  20. I don't care what they do with badges. Just as long as mine still calls me Mister or Sir!
  21. You do realize Fire Cages does the exact same thing to Bonfire, right? You can throw down Bonfire just after you use Fire Cages, and it does the exact same thing. The only difference here is, that now players can lead with Bonfire instead of Fire Cages. Not to mention, DPS usually kills the entire mob long before Bonfire even matters anyway. Mez is so over rated in this game these days...I don't think nerfing Bonfire will make a bit of difference. I think you are going to be VERY hard pressed trying to get anyone to agree with you on this one. This game has been nerfed to the ground and back since release. I think people are kind of tired of all the nerfing.
  22. I guess the players who want Knock Back are raging that other players can use a KB in it instead? Who knows. IMO abeing able to turn it to a KB by either using Fire Cages or putting a KB to KD in that power is the ONLY thing that makes it useful.
