Just noticed (after playing on a team) that the sound effect is a bit over powering. I'll be adjusting the volume of the sound today. Please stand by until next post before downloading. If you have already downloaded, it's no big deal, you'll just need to open the Powers Folder, delete the Peacebringer files and replace them with the new incoming zip file. @Display Name and @Oubliette_Red Update: Files have been adjusted.
-
I wanted to play my Peacebringer again! Only way to get there, is to get there! 😄
-
Welcome aboard! May the wind forever be on your backside and push you to your gaming limits upon the world of Excelsior! You have picked a great server!
-
I would also like to give a personal thank you to @Oubliette_Red for pointing me in the right direction and giving me a shove. If not for Red, I would have never been motivated to create this wonderful Mod for you folks! Thank you, Red! Much love!

Please refer to this thread for all future questions or comments. Reverse the PB Sound Effect that was Recently Removed! (Detailed Explanation) Note: The zip file has been updated as of 3/20/2020 For starters, this is the "Hum" sound effect that was recently removed from the attack powers of the Peace Bringers. I was successful in undoing what was changed for those of you who were not too happy about the Sound Effect change, and created files to help you return the old Peace Bringer Sound Effects and set them up for your personal convenience. All "Hum" sound effects are now back where they were prior to the removal of the PB Sound Effects, with two minor alterations. Now, this mod is not absolutely perfect, but it is very close. The Point Blank AoE's do not activate the Hum upon casting of the AoE powers, but rather require targets to be hit in order to hear the "Hum" sound effect produced by the two PBAoE powers. The reason behind this is because I only had the "Hit" files for those two powers, and not the "Attack" files. I am sure the attack files exist and if I ever find them, I will add those as well, but I could not locate them nor could I locate the sound bite for them; so the "Hum" effect is tied in to the "Hit" file instead. As long as you hit targets with your PBAoE, you will be none the wiser and it will produce the sound effect you have come to know and love. However, when standing alone and using the PBAoEs without hitting any NPC's, it will produce the same Sound Effect you currently experience in game today. All of the other attacks work just as they did prior to the removal of the sound effects and have been successfully returned. You will be the only person who hears this, people around you will not hear the "Hum" sound effect. However, you will hear them not only from yourself, but from other players who are playing Peace Bringers as well; even though the other players will not. Instructions (Destructions?) First, unzip the file beneath the instructions and open the folder. Find your City of Heroes folder and open it up. (If you see a Data Folder) Open the Data Folder. Open the Sound Folder Open the Ogg Folder Open the Powers Folder Copy all files from opened Zip file and drag them to the Powers Folder Close all folders and restart game (If you do not have a Data Folder or any other folder mentioned above!) Inside the City of Heroes Folder... Create a Folder and name it Data Open the Data Folder and create another folder and name it Sound Open the Sound Folder and create yet another folder and name it Ogg Open the Ogg Folder and you've guessed it, create a folder and name it Powers Copy all files from the opened Zip file that I have provided and drag all of the files to the Powers Folder Close all folders and restart game If you have some of the folders mentioned above, but some folders are missing, then create the missing folders and place them in order of how they are listed above. Once finished, copy and drag the files from the Zip folder below and place them inside the Powers Folder. Then close the City of Heroes Folder and restart the game. Zip file is below. Enjoy! Can We Talk About Accolade Click Powers?
Solarverse replied to Derek Icelord's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Can We Talk About Accolade Click Powers? No. 😄 -
Ice Patch and Energy Absorption makes all the difference in the world with survival. They come soon enough. Just keep in mind, you are a Defense based Tank, you won't have any issues capping your Defense, so when you go to slot for IO's you will want to focus on bringing up your Resistance. Once you get those two powers, your survival will double.
-
@Socks10 I can post my Ice/Ice Tank build if you would like a secondary build to look at.

Was talking to Red in PM's and discovered that it can't be added due to their being no way to have a power use two files at once. So what I am going to do is take both files, combine them together (will have to do this with each and every power, since they all have a unique primary sound effect) and place them as a single file per power. Once I do this, then I'll test it out, make sure it works, then post up details after. It may take a bit though, there are a lot of files to work with on this. But I'll get it done and post it when I'm finished.

It was tongue in cheek. Thing is, this has been requested before. If memory serves me correctly, nobody had any issues with this being a possible future add on. So not much needs to be said about it or even backed up, since most already agree this could be a very useful add-on at some point in the future. There, that should be more useful to ya. 🙂

Book Marking this thread, thanks, Red! Also, it needed a bump. Also, @Jimmy, can we get this stickied?

The procs for a lot of the Frozen themed IOs goes well with Ice Tanks as well. You can throw the Immob in Frost and the Hold in Frozen Fists, and double stack a hold on Bosses with it. The Immob goes great with Frost as it not only gives a nice effect, but holds them in place as well. Put a Knock Down IO in Frozen Aura and it's like Foot Stomp, but much frostier. 🙂

Brainstorming session: How do we fix the Teleport pool?
Solarverse replied to Menelruin's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
We can start with reducing the cost of Teleport drastically. -
Fun factor, Ice/Ice is the absolute most fun Tank to play in game IMO. You picked a damn good choice there. If you love the theme of Ice, they did a damn good job utilizing that theme and you'll have a hell of a lot of fun. Good choice, Socks10.

*Looks at the hundreds of threads on this board with some really great Tank builds.* All one needs to do is look. 🙂

I am sure a lot fo you won't agree, but I found those sound effects to be very iconic with the Peace Bringer....and I am a wee bit ashamed to say, I have pretty much shelved my Peace Bringer because it honestly just doesn't have that seem feeling anymore since they removed the Hum sound effect from the powers. Every time a sound effect in this game gets removed, it stings a bit more and a bit more and over the course of the past 16 years, those bits of stings has added up to a gigantic Klingon Gorch. I would like to formally request that we have an option placed for those of us who loved those sound effects to turn them on, on our side. Nobody else has to hear it but those who chose the option. Really, IMO there has been enough nerfs to sound effects over the years. I personally believe any further sound effect nerfs should be in the form of an option. We can't keep forcing sound effect nerfs on all players every time somebody has a problem with a sound effect...logically, however difficulty being probable, can we please get this sound effect back as an option and make all future sound effect nerfs options as well? Thank you. P.S. If you do not know what a Klingon Gorch is, then by all means, the video below should help you understand.

What is the most fun tank combo you have played and why?
Solarverse replied to Infinitum's topic in Tanker
That is one great Tank, no matter if you pick an Epic or not. Good pick, man. -
What is the most fun tank combo you have played and why?
Solarverse replied to Infinitum's topic in Tanker
Ice/Ice all the way for me. There just is no other Tank combo that I have found as fun as that. My Ice/Ice Tank is built as tough as you can make one, by far not the toughest Tank on the market, but he was fun from level 1 all the way to 50 and beyond, and even though I know he is not always the best Tank for the job, he surpasses all other Tanks on the market in terms of fun. -
With the lack of defense, you're going to really feel those hits. With only 17% Defense to Energy, any attack that drains endurance is going to cripple you. If Unstoppable is something you want (I admit, I took it as well for no reason other than nostalgia, but since my build was so good, I kept it because honestly, I didn't need any other abilities.) this includes Unstoppable and is pretty much one of the toughest Tank build you'll find around. Check the stats on this and see how you like it.
