You say that as if you somehow have a better understanding of the set or something. Let's not pretend this game is not almost 20 damn years old or anything and that most of us have a pretty damn good grasp of every last power set in this game by now...

Every set gets a resistance to debuff according to their design...and lots of it. Resistance as some has pointed out, can get 100% Resistance to Resistance Debuffs. SR gets 62.31% and with Elude running, they get another 34.6% on top of that for a grand total of 96.91% Resistance to Defense Debuffs. Regen gets a measly flat 25.95%. Add on top of this no Defense and not much of a Resist to speak of and that becomes a failure within a failed set, IMO.

I think he meant the rest of the game. Hard Mode content doesn't exactly make up a very significant portion of the game. Just taking a guess anyway.

Yeah, that really sucks. I can't play a Control set that doesn't have -KB in the AoE Immob, especially when one has to do with Gravity. It's a truly awesome set, but not having -KB in the immob just feels like a rip-off to me.

Not really, the problem is, we know how it used to perform and we know how it performs today. I never built it up so crazy like people are saying. I didn't six slot Integration and Instant Healing the way some folks on these boards are talking about. It still performed well. I was not unkillable, but I could sure as hell handle my own. So when I compare the set to what it was as somebody who did not min/max the set and then see how it performs today, it leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. So having said that, I disagree with the statement you have quoted and your support of it, I don't think reasonable changes could make the set very unlikeable for at least myself. The set has under-performed next to all other sets ever since it got nerfed. Here we are, 18 years later and it has never moved from the bottom tier. Some of us would just like to see that changed. It's long overdue and it has been the bottom tier for long enough. The set wasn't balanced, it was punished. It received a life sentence when the crime only required a year or less jail time. It's Time to Set Regen Free!

For the record, I never built my Regen to those extremes back in those days. I built mine like a newb, not like somebody who was min/maxing. Just for the record, even though that's extremely irrelevant.

Wrong. I challenge you to ask random people in game, not your buddies if they think Regen sucks or not. I think you will find it is quite the opposite.

Okay, I can die happy now. I just read the most insane metaphor I have ever heard, lol.

It is difficult and it will be difficult, however, having said that, your search for the right location will not be because they will all be in the same folder. The directory will be Piggs/Sound/Ogg/Feet Even the Bots are there and those will be easy to find since they are all called something similar. File name for one of them is MM_Bot_Loco_Stop_05.ogg They will all be similar to that one. So if Bots are the only ones you are looking for, that will be super easy.

Don't hold your breath. Regen is under-performing as well and that has not been changed in over 18 years.

I think that is probably the largest issue right there. Having said that, I think these Devs are doing a pretty decent job at trying to fill that gap in.

It's the opposite. I can't attest for AEON, but I can assure you ITF +4 x8 with players debuffed and mobs buffed, plus no Inspirations and no Temp Pwoers...has been done, multiple times...solo.

It's not that it is really unobtainable, it's simply the fact that players in general will always gravitate toward the path of least resistance. Door sitters for example, the most common setting on TF's being +0's, the constant "Speedy" runs you see advertised where they run the mobs at the lowest possible setting, the blasters who are fully IOed out running off and wiping out half the map, things like this. By having such options in game, people tend to gravitate toward things that make the game easier. I'm not even sure anything can be done about it and to be honest, I am just too damn old to put up that fight. All I wanted to accomplish here is that I have seen time and again how players like-minded to myself take a ton of heat for having our mindsets. I simply wanted people to understand where our mindsets come from and to cut people some slack who miss the ways of the old. If I can convince even one person on these forums to understand, then my job is done.

Wasn't me! lol, if I play the set at all, it will be a remake of my original back on live, a Dark/Regen Scrapper. I wonder how that build will go for him though. I'm sure it will be survivable, Ice Patch is an awesome mitigation tool.
