  1. Tri-cannon's ranged attack seems to have the taunt disabled against enemies that carry the "raid" tag. This seems to include most AVs, GMs, and some bosses.
  2. @StrikerFox even con pylons haven't been a test of survivability or sustainability since before the original live servers shut down. Those two measures stopped being tested when incarnates dramatically ramped up everyone's build strength. Since that time the rules you state have more or less still been followed, all that has ever been asked is that people disclose what they are doing (ie hybrid up/down). Pylons have always arbitrarily punished some AT's/builds by virtue of it spamming a high knockback aoe attack. That is not necessarily representative of what you typically face if you want to hunt high hp targets, but it is what it is. as to running lvl 54s. Maybe it will become the norm. They just went live a week or so ago. I know I'm personally using them for most of my builds now. They do reintroduce the survivability and sustainability elements you highlight. But on that note, you had both your melee and ranged def toggles off; presumably to increase your sustainability, because it only (arbitrarily) attacks aoe. Is that something you'd normally do while running missions, or fighting a random AV, or is that just part of gaming pylons?
  3. Only thing to add is consider the p2w amplifier that boosts recovery. Late game you may end up feeling the need to go cardiac/vigor if you decide ageless isn't your path (barrier is astounding on ice/sav)
  4. I think it is when it takes damage and restarts if you let it heal all the way back up. I guess that would give a slight advantage to things like Disruption arrow, or melt armor. But ideally the ease of creating videos and attaching builds allows others to see how applicable the run is.
  5. Well in truth, they bumped pylons to lvl 54 out in the zone. Those will wreck the majority of pylon builds that have ever been posted in the scrapper forum too like all those paper tissue /bio builds and spirit ward won't be keeping any pets alive against them. We will see a lvl 54 pylon thread? idk. The old pylon test was arbitrarily punishing to certain powersets. It is not uncommon in team play for my doms to be able to put the pedal all the way to the floor. I think if nothing else this competition probably showed a lot of people that doms can have some serious power under the hood even if they have a hard time putting it down sometimes. Additionally @Koopak is simply saying what is permitted (not entirely unlike the scrapper version, just a bit different), he isn't saying you have to use all of the tools available and his spreadsheet has a lot of detail letting viewers glean what is or is not useful to them.
  6. I personally agree with your stance, but I'm not the one hosting or fronting the inf. That said, both builds/vids I submitted met "scrapper" rules (which is what you are requesting) and both were in excess of 1200dps. Doms can do truckloads of damage if permitted the opportunity. 4 digit dps doms are not uncommon and they can still be quite functional in game.
  7. My take away is that /fiery not having access to the +dam ATO really hurts it. Other assault sets have a ton of mitigation or utility built in AND see similar damage boosts over time when comparing the +dam ATO to the expected uptime of FE. Yes /fiery can be used from range better than most, but keep in mind the strong time I got for fire/fire required melee just like everyone else. My ranged /fire attempts were considerably slower. ime a proc'd /thorny is as good as proc'd /fiery from range too
  8. Is there any possibility of a 4th option existing with how the "no fade" option is working on live right now? Currently it is full invis until attack/attacked and then it shows your costume clearly.
  9. Not that it matters much anymore as the competition is over, but it looks like you fell into the same trap that caught many of us. Someone in the zone was running the playtest buff
  10. Ya my SR tank is just something else. I think it is my favorite armor set for them.
  11. Hi @WARMONGER34, the build for that earth/psi is posted in the penny yin/clamor thread. Only notable change was swapping concealment for leadership. It's a great combo with a lot of factors working together that make it excel.
  12. All kinds of synergy to be found. For example - Em/nin using the boosted crit chance of shinobi to get double focus. Or fueling the high endurance burn of TW/Axe/stone melee with byoko That said, you should 100% play what you are interested in. Every primary is good and every secondary is viable. There is no need to make concessions if something thematically appeals to you.
  13. I'm in lock-step with @nihiliion this one. Once you get a taste of a t9 build you will struggle to go back. Does anyone need unlimited endurance, unsupressed superspeed, and enough defense to ignore all but the most extreme tohit buffs? The crash is supposed to be a hurdle but in the case of (scrapper/sentinel) /nin it is barely an inconvenience.
  14. I have no shred and no hemo on mine. Definitely use rending. I'm switching from mu to ice epic. Procd icebolt and ice snipe are great
  15. For me I strive to have it in my attack chain. Otherwise it will sit mostly unused. So even though buttstroke might not be ideal as you won't always be up close, it is still probably the better spot. If you are like me, I rarely use my single target controls in mid/late game. It is just aoe mez and get to work. If it were up to me I'd give all dom attacks like a 1% chance to immob just so you could slot that ATO in a damage power as it should be.
  16. It is ulta reliable, predictable and works to help you in situations your controls can't handle. I wouldn't be opposed to a bit more modern exterior on it though.
  17. It is auto-hit 0 end cost. 2 - 50+5 rech is good Depending on your build some of the taunt sets have great bonuses. I went 6 pcs mocking on my em/ea.
  18. They both do damage and will break the sleep of the other. But if you sleep nade > tranq it will stack when sleep nade pulses again a short time later.
  19. Dealers choice 🙂 I didn't bother to slot them on that run either. Added the missing miracle and end mod. Dominator (Fire Control - Fiery Assault).mbd
  20. Are you able to add this one from before? It isn't a winner, but it is a good showing for fire/fire
  21. Hot take. People were not sufficiently challenging their build if they were not frequently having placate broken on them.
  22. Could you imagine a version of the game where burnout affected the power pools. That would change some of my builds for sure. Ymmv, but the AV fights back against you, not the pets with the dominator version. I won't disagree that the intangibility of PA is a benefit though.
  23. Doing an arse/thorn take on the predator. It's going well so far... Thorn will fill in some of the weak spots decently. Tried it semi maxed out on test during beta. Anything that can stroll thru those hydra pylons at +4 in the Apex TF, will ime, do pretty well in other areas too. Aoe confuse, aoe stun and lastly, the aoe hold are the highlights for me. Pet fills a niche that appeals to me, but certainly doesn't steal the show. Also they added aoe -fly to sleep nade. It is pretty ok with the ice Mistral set.
  24. Regular gameplay means so many different things to different people though. In truth most of these builds would be humbled pretty quickly if we just zipped halfway across the zone and tried these shenanigans against a lvl 54 pylon that fights back :) /nrg is good, but for me you want a good amount of aoe and solid single target. If you don't have strong aoe then you want some way of facilitating good aoe like /fire boosting rain of fire and fireball so well. Or a ton of utility like /psi offers in drain psyche. But everyone wants different things and I think most assault sets are pretty nice. For this competition my gut said /thorny and that's why I ran that ill/thorn back at the beginning of the month. I honestly never considered /nrg in the running because it has no opportunities for -res and the self boosting is not on par with the likes of thorn, fire, (or as we learned from @VertigoIguana) martial. At the end of the day, -res procs play a big role in killing even con pylons as has been demonstrated so many times in the scrapper thread. If someone swaps in burnout (double FE) and uses geas on the fire/fire/mace build I put up earlier it may well be in the running with that astounding ill/ma time. Still time for someone to get creative and come up with something different though! Ya definitely an interesting mechanic. Perhaps not particularly applicable for an ill/ma in game, but if it works as he suggests then something like a fire/ma could see tremendous benefits to their imps over time (if you keep them alive of course). If nothing else I've added that for a potential combo to look at later and I would have not come up with that on my own :)
