I post this meme frequently . . . sorry. But I do so because it is so often relevant. If you don't like the way some other group runs content -- whether that be too fast, or too slow, or requiring everyone to have T4 barrier, or requiring one tank, two cold corrupters, a kin, and four fire blasters -- your best solution is to run it the way you like it and find like minded individuals. Then you can run medium speed with everyone having whatever powers they want. Or whatever your plan may be. BUT, (and that's a big but), you also need to either be OK with failing or figure out a way to make it work. Because if you run unsuccessful teams over and over, people will stop joining them. And ultimately, that's why people go with what is tried and true. There doesn't have to be "The one and only way." In fact, there isn't. There are many ways to succeed. But there usually is one easy and/or fast way to do it and that's what most folks gravitate to. But most is not the same as all.

(Don't Fear) the Respec: Respecs, Multiple Builds, and Unslotters
Bionic_Flea replied to Yomo Kimyata's topic in Guides
Come on baby, don't Flee the Respec. GM, take my hand, don't Flee the Respec. We'll be able to fly (or jump or run). Yomo is the maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan -
As I recall, all the add on robots when fighting Nightstar and Citadel in the BAF trial were designed for crowd control to take care of while DPS and debuffers took care of the AVs. It's certainly a valid strategy and maybe even an effective one when the I-trial first came out and no one had incarnate powers. But now, as far as I can tell, everyone ignores the add-ons unless going for a badge. That's what happens to most content that seems to require certain roles, we either become strong enough to just steamroll it and/or learn tricks to work around them. I have nothing against inserting situations into missions, TFs, and trials that let certain ATs shine as long as it's not a requirement. LGTF's Hamidon needing some holds doesn't bother me, but the original Barracuda where certain ATs were required I did not like.

Any well built AT and power-set can complete and contribute to all content. Admittedly, some are better than others for certain things. If people aren't inviting your stalker (or whatever) to their 4* ITFs than start your own and you can set the conditions.

Careful there, cowboy. That's my family you're talking about! Soon the Political Pandas will come to a channel near you and you will not have a brain to blow.

First, make a billion inf. Second, do that another thousand times.1 1. I may have stolen this line from Yomo.

Did you look in my hidden contents, above?

The Incarnate system is needlessly complex and fussy
Bionic_Flea replied to FFFF's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I would. I generally make a quick T2 alpha with my first thread drop at Vet level 1, then run the Weekly, maybe an ITF (which generates a bunch of shards), one of the other TFs that grants a shard-based component, or perhaps a Hammy or Mothership raid. That gets me my T3. I can now use all my threads and emps to work up my other slots. As I run other TFs and content I will get additional shards and/or threads depending on what I run. I will use shards when I can to build up alpha slot stuff, but switch to thread-based stuff if I get a lucky drop doing Tin Mage, Apex, DA arcs or Incarnate trials. -
Am I just totally misinformed....
Bionic_Flea replied to tjknight's topic in Peacebringer & Warshade
I remember that guide! I thought it was great and tried to follow it, but it never gelled for me. I felt more comfortable playing other ATs . That was a long time ago, probably a decade or more. The game has changed a lot since then and I know a lot more about the mechanics. Maybe I should give WS another try. But I'd love for the OG MF**NG Warshade author to recreate that guide with all the new IOs and QOL changes. -
Yeah, I'm not a fan of the new "export" tool.

Maybe consider Elec/dark and use Sir Myshkin's Proc Monster build as a starting point? I made one and was surprised at how good it was.

I'm not familiar with Sweet Tea. Does it have an update and verify function? It sounds like you are missing a file that one of those two may fix.

Storm/Storm build. Looking to improve defence especially ranged.
Bionic_Flea replied to BurtHutt's topic in Corruptor
I started mine before Mids came out so I just winged it. Mids was updated while I was still leveling and I was using too much end and I came up with the build below with the expectation that I would respec into it. But after reaching T4 on all incarnate slots, I feel it's working well enough. Damn well, in fact. When I have some time I'll make my in-game build in Mids and post it. View This Build In MRB -
You can experience that rush in the game now! Steps to follow: 1. Get to level 50 2. Trick out your level 50 with your favorite incarnate powers, especially Judgment. 3. Go to Perez Park, Hollows, Boomtown, or other similar low level hazard zone. 4. Let it rip! Especially fun is using knockback powers to try to send them over buildings!

Reduce the activation time of Storm Cell
Bionic_Flea replied to AxerJ's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
While it's true that the critters in DA can be nasty, once you get your level boost to +3 they're actually pretty easy. You are fighting level 54 enemies, but they are only +1 to you. If you really want a challenge, use the challenge modes in Ouro and TFs and run it at +4/x8. Player debuffed and NPCs buffed is crazy hard. -
Storm Cell -- Does not work with damage procs.
Bionic_Flea replied to LastHumanSoldier's topic in Blaster
Not correct . . . sorta. Storm Cell by itself is just the debuff and it gets the chance to do damage by using your other storm attacks. No Storm attacks, no damage, no chance to proc. But you can get many damage procs over the life of the cell by using attacks to trigger lightning. The lightning CAN and DOES trigger damage procs in addition to it's normal damage. -
Suggest a good Gold-side solo character
Bionic_Flea replied to Techwright's topic in General Discussion
I agree that a stalker, tank, or other melee are probably your best bet as teams are few and far between goldside and you don't have a lot of powers and slots from levels 1 - 20. Since there aren't many teams most of the support sets' powers will gather dust unless you are running a MM or controller. Alternatively, you may try to get a regular goldside team going. Maybe a theme, maybe the only theme is that you all play goldside together Wednesdays at 8 pm, or whatever. -
Suggestions for Development and testing
Bionic_Flea replied to Puma's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
WindDemon21: What I think Player1 and the other devs are asking for is actually playing it and demonstrating during that play that it is deficient, broken, way under-performing. They already know Storm is not top tier DPS and they are not inclined to make it so. Something like the the Trapdoor test with a Storm Blaster vs another Blaster, or maybe all the blaster primaries. Bopper, GalaxyMind and others have done testing like that and have gotten things changed by doing so. It seems like you are armchair quarterbacking -- talking about the game, the players, the refs, the play calling; but not actually playing the game to demonstrate not just that it could be better, but that it is significantly under other blasts. -
Good News. New Players. Bad news. Teams suck.

That's one of the best feelings you can have in this game. Truly heroic! -
Suggestions for Development and testing
Bionic_Flea replied to Puma's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I have played my storm/storm corrupter to 50 and is now T4 on all incarnates. It's crazy good. A true tank-mage. Sure, anyone of my blasters and many of my other characters could take out similar groups faster. But this is one of the safest squishies I have played. All of the knocks, -tohit, and critters wanting to run out of the rain means that things aren't shooting at me and Hurricane keeps everything out of my face. I may get blasted . . . but never punched. I felt it played well in the early levels and then hit a bad slog in the 20s and 30s. That's not uncommon, but it seemed worse than others because it has a lot of very expensive powers that cry out for slots. I would be fine and then run out of endurance and suddenly find myself in a lot of danger. Putting 4 slots in Stamina and using all the end/recovery uniques helped a bunch as did getting the +endurance accolades. And obviously slotting those end-hungry powers. I also picked up Victory Rush late in the build and found it pretty effective, even with just the default slot. If I use it on a boss I can't move my endurance bar while it's active. And then when I finally slotted Cardiac and Support incarnates, I no longer run out of end unless I get sapped. And even then I recover pretty quick. I do think that a tweak or two would make it more tolerable in those mid levels. As I mentioned before, either faster animation, lower endurance costs, or better damage. My favorite way would be to boost Intensify to last longer or give a slightly higher +damage . . . or both! It is an excellent soloist but a so-so teammate. As others have mentioned, by the time you get set up to start doing damage the whole group is usually dead. And as a storm/storm my buff/debuff is limited to an occasional O2 Boost and Freezing Rain. Other powersets would have more to do on a team, but they may not be as safe or as damaging as Storm Summoning. When I did team up I would see who was taking the most damage and would hit them with Spirit Ward and O2 and stay next to them with hurricane if they were ranged. I can't really speak about it on other ATs or even on other corrupters with a different secondary. I could see that this might be frustrating to someone that always plays blasters and is used to wiping out groups in 4 seconds. I also imagine that the added safety might be lost on an armored sentinel that would prefer better damage. I'll eventually get around to making another Storm Blast but it may be awhile. I find it is good enough on a Storm/Storm corrupter but it could be better with just a tweak or two. And a tweak or two would not turn it into fire blast. And it may make it more tolerable on other ATs
