  1. Wut? I've mainly soloed from 1-50 on every AT and most powersets from issue 0 on. It is certainly easier on certain ATs and powersets, but that just means those sets get to turn up the difficulty sooner.
  2. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I echo Snarky's gratitude to the GMs, Devs, and Staff of HC. And I'll add to all the players who add their knowledge, time, and personalities to make this game fun after almost 20 years. Thanks everyone!
  3. Moral of the story: Blame Yomo.
  4. Correct. If you don't have any immob or taunt, I would recommend refraining from caltrops on AVs/GMs.
  5. NPCs in the game basically have a frustration meter. When the frustration meter reaches a certain level, the NPCs want to run away. Excessive misses, taking a lot more damage and not damaging, "afraid" status caused by things like caltrops and fire patches, constantly taking damage (DoTs), are all things that fill the meter. So caltrops has afraid status, and DoTs, (plus the damage from the Bots, which includes a fire patch) and Force Field Generator + Bot bubbles along with a good build will have you and the Bots at soft cap defense leading NPCs to miss a lot. The combination of all these things makes critters want to run and they will unless you immobilize or taunt them. It's most noticeable on Arch-Villains (AVs) and Giant Monsters (GMs) as every thing else dies too quickly to let them run.
  6. It was a bone thrown to controllers many years ago by the live team after containment became a thing. The Purple Triangles of Doom made controls all but useless, but with a hole to immobile at least they could double their already low damage. Oh, and AVs and GMs hate caltrops and missing. The combination of not being able to hit due to defense and the dots and afraid from caltrops is too much for them.
  7. This is an older build where I tried to fit in as many procs as I could. This build is before the recent changes to Bots so while I think it would still work, I would probably re-work it to move some slots around and maybe pick some different powers. But it works really well and can solo AVs and GMs pretty easily.
  8. I ran a test to double-check and, indeed, I earned Patrol XP even though I set myself to No XP in the settings. I think that might be the most elegant solution -- make turning off XP also turn off Patrol XP. It makes intuitive sense and lets players select 'No XP' just before logging to avoid it and turn it back on when they start, or just leave it off if they are done with or not interested in Incarnate progress. Standard code rant applies, of course. It could be as easy as a switch or as difficult as brain surgery.
  9. I thought the patrol XP blue went away when you turn off XP. At least, for 50s it has all the little circles filled and the bar is also filled blue and stays blue. Question: Do you earn Patrol XP if you have XP turned off when you log? Rudra, do you have a second account? I wonder if killing yourself in a PvP match would be faster than letting NPCs do it . . . wait, do you get debt for PvP deaths?
  10. I went with a emphasis on the cones and getting them range bonuses to make them go farther and deeper.
  11. No, we shouldn't. That wouldn't solve a single problem but causes many.
  12. Crafters gonna craft . . . and burn money while crafting.
  13. I was sad to hear this. Animated Batman is one of the all-time best cartoons ever made and that was due in large part to Conroy. RIP.
  14. I didn't on my Shield/Axe. Even with shield charge, I like the extra AoE. But on Rad I can see it as they have Radiation Therapy and Ground Zero to add AoE damage, especially if using damage procs.
  15. I can't help but compare myself to everyone else. And I have to say, I'm disappointed with most of you. Y'all got to turn it up a notch or two. BINGO!
  16. Just goes to show how much money people will spend for BS items. . . .
  17. Thanks for the update. Safety first!
  18. I agree with Tyger. I made a Symphonic/Sonic Dom and hated it. Terrible pairing. Cones are horrible in melee range and Symphonic is just about all cones. But I loved my Symphonic/Dark Controller. I slotted for range bonuses to make those cones go far and deep. And then I added Ice mastery for some extra cold cone damage. Rev and Fluffy make a great controlling duo and add lots of survivability.
  19. But Naomi, after a hard day of pressing buttons to defeat evil doers in the game I like to relax by pressing buttons to defeat evil ideas in the forums.
  20. What the heck is Adzeic? Closest thing I could find is an Integrated Chip (IC) from a company called Adze. Good one! So good that I have a Demon/Thermal MM on another server with that name. I went with Shield/Axe and named him Iconic Flea. Right now it's kind of a pun for Eye-conic, but I plan to add homage costumes for a bunch of Iconic Shield or Axe bearers.
  21. I want to make a new Axe tank but unsure of what to pair it with. My leading candidate right now is Electric, but I've also thought of Shield, Rad, and Bio. Was also considering grabbing fold space to add to Axe Cyclone's vacuum. Any thoughts or builds anyone wants to share? Bonus points for anyone who can come up with a good "________ic Flea" name for this Axe tanker!
  22. The Atlas map had a Halloween overlay. It should be gone now and the map back to normal. Not sure what the problem what FF could be.
  23. I bought one for 3,333,333 and put it up for 1, and it sold for 1,000,000. *Shrug* Nothing to see here. Move on. https://y.yarn.co/f8cff73e-70c4-4037-a5dd-35d3e5df188d.mp4
