  1. And back to 808 . . . OMG! The prices fluctuate!
  2. I disagree. This is temporary and transient. I just logged in and prices for uncommon salvage are now 809, the price someone is buying a lot of salvage at.
  3. You know nothing, John Snowflake!
  4. Dooooooooooooooooooom!
  5. Hard pass no as described. I don't think any player should have his or her home destroyed for an experiment. That said, I would be interested in seeing a separate server that ran "old school" sponsored by HC or someone else.
  6. CEBR! Topdoc started a fad of claws electric brutes while the game was still live for two reasons, which have since been changed. The first was that you used to be able to chug a bunch of inspirations before entering AE and they would still be active. The theory was to cap everything before going in, and then keep it going as best you could with the stack of inspirations you brought it and then with drops. The second was getting Spin at level 6 and Lightning Field at level 1 and slotting them with procs. Using this method, Topdoc and others were able to self-PL from level 1 to 50 fairly quickly. Because of this and a detailed forum post by Topdoc explaining the plan, we started seeing a lot of claws/electric brutes running around. The devs ended up preventing inspirations from carrying over on zoning and the procs used to have a flat rate which made them very effective in fast attacks and AoEs. PPM changed that too. Claws/Electric Brutes can still be a lot of fun, but that way of self-PLing is no longer available.
  7. with Kirby dots for carbonation! And now he needs a red (or red/white) scarf!
  8. Shhhh! I said almost. Don't ruin it. 🤪
  9. I have a fire/fire/fire blaster that I sometime farm with. Bonfire with the KB-KD proc is almost like cheating. Stuff does run away, as I have no taunt, but they always come back to die or I shoot them in the back. Either works. I tried him after the most recent changes and found that I needed to pop barrier or some inspirations to start and be very twitchy, due to all the extra aggro. But as stuff died it got easier and I could relax a bit. This is definitely for active farming only. No AFK farming allowed! In the past I have also farmed with a rad/dark melee tank. It's not as fast as a fire aura brute, but it was a nice change of pace. And if you get the timing juuuuust right you can cap damage for a bit. The nice thing about that character is that he can fire farm, SL farm, anything farm. It's very sturdy and versatile with capped resists, softcapped defenses, two self-heals, absorb, and unlimited endurance. He can also heal teammates, and debuff tohit, regen, and defense! It's a tank-fender!
  10. Quitters never win. Winners never quit. Vampires suck. That said, I have quit TFs on rare occasion. Back on live, my friend and I joined a Synapse with 3 other players. We wanted to speed, they wanted to kill all. We went back and forth for a bit and we finally split off after we killed Bertha while the others were still by the door. We started a new Posi with just two of us and finished an hour or so before the others. They were very proud of themselves. My friend and I thought they were crazy. They probably thought the same of us.
  11. I agree that Goldside needs a little bit more content to allow players to make it to 50 without going red or blue. I know that it CAN be done, as described by Darmian, because I have a "pure" level 50 Preatorian on another server. But I thought that a level 35-50 TF or Trial involving the Avatar, Seed, and Hamidon himself might be the way to go.
  12. Thanks for posting your builds and your testing results, Ston! For those that think the tests should be run differently, respectfully: run your own tests with whatever parameters you want. I think it would be great to run a similar test with just level 50 generic IOs to compare the sets a little more directly, but I don't expect Ston to run it. Maybe if I have free time over the holidays I can at least give it a start. One question though, @Ston: looking at your fire melee tank, why didn't you use Achilles Heal in any of the sword attacks vs the Lysosome HOs you slotted? I didn't look at the other fire melees to see if they were slotted the same. (lemme check). Edit: The other ATs were similarly though not necessarily exactly slotted. But non used Achilles.
  13. Yeah. This idiot is out.
  14. When I was doing my testing, I ONLY used Serenade to isolate that power. From looking at your videos, it seems that the critter that was confused but just stood there was also under other effects, hold, immob, fear, etc. I think what you may be seeing is an animation conflict between all the effects.
  15. I tested it a few more times against +2 Rikti in one of the RWZ missions. I can confirm that breaking LOS damages the target but the confuse does not take. I hid behind a rock with a target nearby, jumped and hit Serenade on the way down. Every time I was behind the rock before the animation, I got damage but no confuse. A few times my timing was off and I was still visible to critter during animation and I got both damage and confuse. Unless I missed or broke line of sight, every other hit of Serenade gave both confuse and damage.
  16. I think that each issue with new missions saw improvement, with the exception of the Daedalus Arc ironically written by someone they hired for their writing ability. That arc is one of my least favorite. I like the zones that have linked story arcs that tell a larger story: Hollows, Striga, Croatoa, RWZ are all super fun to me. The fact that they minimize travel is a bonus! All of Praetoria also followed this theme. On the villain side, Oh, Wretched Man from Seer Marino, which makes me pity Wretch, and Westin Phipps, who actually makes me feel bad for running him. How many arcs actually make you feel anything?
  17. Most of my alts are all in one SG. But occasionally someone comes up with a theme that interests me and I join the SG to be in on the fun and level up. I also had 2 SGs when live, one blue one red. On those rare occasions when the need to grab stuff from another SG happened to me, I either used e-mail or grabbed an alt from a second account to pull the shopping list out of storage and then drop them on the character from the other SG.
  18. Symph/Dark controller
  19. I just confused a level 50 warwork minion and Lt. and even briefly confused Siege. Seems to work for me. What are you trying to confuse?
  20. I hope you one day come back to play too, Solarverse.
  21. Or maybe . . . one in a million . . . chance of a lifetime . . .
  22. There's at least one that was bought and sold. How else did the 20 million price "paint" the last five sales?
  23. Stay gold, Ponyboy.
  24. Well, an occasional death is to be expected (even when trying your best to avoid them). And yes, the 20s and 30s are when you start getting more foes with exotic damage and mezzes and debuffs but don't yet have enough powers or slots to deal with all of that efficiently. But an occasional death should not be equated as "solo-unfriendly". If that's the standard, then everything in the game falls short.
