Focused Feedback: Reward Merits
Bionic_Flea replied to Booper's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
My understanding, as I have never checked myself, is the daily numbers everyday between 8:30 am and 9:30 am. And especially in Pocket D and other zones with AE buildings. There is a noticeable difference on Tuesdays when the servers go offline. Presumably there are a number of AFk farmers that get booted and don't come back until they wake up, come back from work, whatever. @Ukase Here's a chart from HC Discord. -

Proposal for a new command: /timeout
Bionic_Flea replied to Bionic_Flea's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Man, I was hoping this idea would get some traction, but nobody has responded . . . . -
I was having a great debate. But now that it's been downgraded I'm logging in and setting up several AFK farmers to get it while the getting is good. So long, suckers!

I agree. I think people that do this: DFB, PST DFB, PST DFB, PST DFB, PST continuously with nothing in between or any break of time ARE spamming. But I don't think that a conversation, even if inappropriate or in the wrong channel is spamming. It could be some other violation, but not spamming. If I am mistaken, I'd like official word on it. Because this is what I understand spamming to mean: spam verb gerund or present participle: spamming send the same message indiscriminately to (large numbers of recipients) on the internet. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/spam

Do you get angry with people going on about something you find inappropriate in a chat channel but don't want to use /ignore or /gignore because now you won't ever hear them or be able to team with them? Or otherwise you have to keep track like an accountant of whether someone deserves a lifetime ban or a week, a day, or an hour before you remove them from your ignore list? I propose a new command: /timeout (playername or @global) (number from 1 - 9999) - where the number represents the number of hours you want the person to spend on "timeout" on your ignore list. The max number 9999 is about 14 months. This idea originated from the discussion found here:

I thought spamming was writing the same thing over and over in a channel like: I will not have a conversation in LFG I will not have a conversation in LFG I will not have a conversation in LFG I will not have a conversation in LFG Not actually having a conversation. Done.

Focused Feedback: Reward Merits

It was hard to corner the market on live, almost impossible here, because seeded prices of salvage, converters, and Reward Merit Vendors give folks an out. -
I think that maybe we need more missions/TFs that are like farms, ITF, Yin, Apex, Tin Mage, Market Crash, which means densely packed maps of critters that give great XP and also make you feel super. Add limited travel to that. If all missions were farms, would anybody farm? Dun, Dun DUN!

I propose a /timeout command to ignore people for X hours! Can I get a code monkey in here? Stat!

Delayed response, but when you are pushing buttons and looking at that character, you are playing that character. If you are leveling up, slotting, buying, selling, attacking, defending, then you are playing that character. Some people don't count marketing, or role-playing, but I do. It's you at the computer interacting with that character and the game. When you tab out to read e-mail, shop Amazon, or play another account you are not playing your character, even if it is automated to do certain things. -
I think it's more of a thought experiment than an actual experiment that our devs would do.

issue 27 Focused Feedback: Symphony Control
Bionic_Flea replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I made a Symphonic/Dark as well with Ice Mastery's Frost Breath adding another cone with great damage (with procs) and Ice Storm for more damage and slows to keep things at range. I liked it and think it does good damage as a solo controller x8. I liked that one a lot more than Symphonic/Sonic Dom. You'd think it would be a good pairing, but I found it less than good. -
I'm all for experiments, but if population size is not a good measure of popularity, what are we experimenting for?
-
Are there any insta-50s or super farming servers out there? How popular are they? I know most or all are smaller than HC, but I really don't follow the others.
-
It is. Fire/Rad is one of the top tier fire farmers. Do you dispute that?
-
Well done! Except the second video is a fire farmer in a fire farm. In fact, it looks like the exact same character.
-
Responding to @battlewraith: "Well how good do you want it to be? Is the answer to that question something that can be arrived at objectively somehow?" I don't know. I don't think we can reasonably quantify or otherwise come up with a number without data that the devs have but we don't. That's why I ask it as a relative question. I have no problem with it AE farming being the fastest method to get to 50 and the highest XP/Inf per minute. I just don't want it to be leagues better than the next best thing, which I assume is something like the ITF, Yin, or Market Crash -- all of which have densely packed critters similar to some current farms and the old school farms as well as limited travel time. Is having AE farming twice as good as the next best thing too much, not enough, or just right?

I assure you that I don't hate farming and all my poop is perfectly and properly placed.

No.

I think we need targeted Nerfs. Devs: Please nerf ShardWarrior! Thank you.

I don't think any of those covers what I've been asking, which is: how much better should AE fire farming be then the next best thing? It's not that I don't like it, it's just that I don't think it should be soooo much faster than anything else. It can still be the number one fastest method as far as I'm concerned. And please don't pretend that fire farming isn't better XP/time than anything else. That's why many people do it and they have said so in this thread. They want to get to 50 (or full incarnate) quickly. And if you disagree that playing a farm that plays to your strength isn't less risky, I suggest you have a fire farmer run a smash/lethal farm or an S/L farmer in a fire farm. Please record it and play it here as proof. 😜
