  1. Try again with 2 level 53 Acc/Dam HOs and 4 procs per attack. Oh, and musculature if you aren't using it already. I haven't done the math, but I think you are giving up too much scrapper attack damage for the procs.
  2. Well, then I demand Netherite Armor and golden apples!
  3. *Puts Luminara in timeout for language.*
  4. It would be OK if limited. Like Tsoo Sorcerers - hurricane, a heal, TP, a few attacks, and they can cause havoc. It doesn't take all 9 buff/debuff powers, just one or two. Think about Flash Arrow for Warriors . . . Heat Shields and Heat Exhaustion from CoT Demons . . . Gang War and Wormhole from Family . . . etc. But yeah, hellions and skulls probably don't need more help, unless they were upgraded to higher levels!
  5. You want to make enemy encounters more interesting and diverse? Give each NPC faction a Defender/Corrupter/Mastermind/Controller character with appropriate buffs/debuffs for their level.
  6. If it reduces effectiveness at all, it seems to me that it will be regarded as painful. Why should I nerf myself? Nostalgia, challenge, or reward are the only three reasons I can think of. And of those, reward seems to me to be the most universal and repeatable reason.
  7. I like this Olerus guy. He makes good points.
  8. Original Hammy didn't rely on EoEs and the zone allowed 200ish players.
  9. I read the first page and then skipped to the end, sorry for bypassing anyone. I'm all for additional options. The problem is getting people to use these options. Similar options exist right now in TFs and Ouro arcs and from my personal experience most people use the settings once to get the badge and then never again (Exception for EV on Excelsior who constantly runs hardcore Master of ITFs). People play them them first time for the badges. So unless you add some sort of reward to this "no set bonuses" setting I don't think that it will be used very much. The rewards can be badges, extra inf/XP, or any of the other goodies that drop in game (other than an SO, that's just mean).
  10. *Breaks out all the auto-hit powers to use on BillZ* That's just crazy talk! Let's not get carried away.
  11. Everyone knows that sugar gliders are rude, selfish, and just out right mean.
  12. It's all on the honor system, so follow your conscience. I agree that lower level generic IOs are close enough to SOs. 35s might be a tad too strong as part of the SO life is them degrading somewhat. But a mix of 35s and lowers evens that out. It's rare to be +3 all the time . . . and expensive! But anything over 35 is definitely much better than SOs.
  13. Made it to level 6 and finished Prince Kiros Nandelu's set of missions and got the next one, Juan Jimenez from King's Row. I now remember why don't do these original contacts or challenge leveling often -- it's tedious as hell! Run all over Atlas Park and then back again to talk to contact. Doing DFB I'd be in the teens. Even soloing Matthew Habashy without XP boosters would have had me at level 11-12 by now. So, I'm breaking down and picking up the freebies at P2W. Still self-financing, for now.
  14. Hmmm . . . Probably not going to get many HOs under 50. I guess honor your conscience. If you have a slot or two of those it won't make much of a difference, but a build with a ton of HOs is close to a generic IO build . . . I think . . . maybe . . .
  15. I made Comedic Flea (rad/dark tank) on Excelsior and started running him through Outbreak and then the original contact. So far I haven't taken any P2W powers or my usual influence infusion from a level 50, but I may change my mind if it gets too tedious. I'm also slotting what drops, including the YinOs that dropped in the tutorial. That's relatively new. Or at least, I don't remember those being in the tutorial. But I haven't done the tutorials in a long time. However, I'm not imposing any additional restrictions on anyone other than a TO/DO/SO only build.
  16. I found the thread: Yeah, that's a little more limiting than I was thinking of, but it seems like you guys had more than a few willing to suffer for nostalgia!
  17. I frequently hear people say that the game is balanced around SOs. But I haven't used other the occasional SO that dropped in my lap for years. I really don't remember much what playing with SOs was like and even if I did, the first 9 issues are so far away from where we are now, even excluding IOs, that I'm not sure the memory would be a balanced representation of how it would play now. So I started thinking of what I would make for an SO build and decided on a Rad/Dark Tanker. I even made a Mids build for it. What would you make as an SO only build? And would you actually be willing to run with it all the way to Incarnate Trials? Would you make something new and play it up through the levels, make a second build for one of your existing characters, or PL something to slot. If there's enough interest and we can agree on a server and time to meet up we can see how far an SO team can go.
  18. To quote Skoryy: Why not both? Sure, run them as you say, but also run them with inspirations and temp powers and all the other things you and others would use for "optimal" damage and survivability?
  19. I finally agree with you!
  20. It's 46.92 Melee, 25.67 Ranged, and 23.17 AoE on mine. Since we have the same toggles running, it seems like it might be a code error or maybe suppression from being in combat mode (though it shouldn't). Did you make any database changes or have anything checked in Options, Effects and Maths, Suppression?
  21. I reject your general premise that a strong solo character MUST be a weak teaming character. Sure, it can be, like a defender that skips all team buffs. But a strong, well built character in a capable player's hands doesn't become weaker on a team.
  22. If a character can solo at +4/x8 how can it be bad on a team? If all 8 can solo at +4/x8 how could that possibly be a "problem"?
