  1. No... Shhh! They're on to you
  2. I'm going to *still* have to disagree with these ideas...
  3. I'm late to the party... I give you my Illusion/TA build, with flash arrow's unresistable portion, capped S/L/E/N/Ranged defense, perma-PA, etc.
  4. I give you... O K Boomer A Sonic/Beam defender who is a rogue Goldbricker gone hero. (This concept is even older than the ASF!) Very solid resists. I guess the only thing not entirely in concept is Mu mastery, but I wanted the extra S/L/E resist and Power Sink helps tremendously with the end usage.
  5. I'm not going to be helpful here... Pick whatever primary sounds fun; pair it with whatever secondary sounds fun. The great thing about defenders as opposed to tanks/scrapers/brutes is that play style can be completely different. Electrical Affinity is an awesome set, but like kinetics, it can be very clicky. Dark is less clicky, but it has no end recovery, so it can seem a little end heavy. It is a beast of a power set though. One of my favorite defenders of all time is my Trick Arrow/Archery/Power

    Illu/?

I'm surprised nobody mentioned storm yet. No -Regen but you put out enough extra damage and have enough -resist that it doesn't really matter.
  7. huh, for some reason I was thinking they changed it the other way (ie: redraw used to affect cast time but now it doesn't)
  8. I'm not against it, but just an FYI, the redraw time doesn't actually affect anything. Whether or not you redraw the weapon, the animation time is the same.
  9. I knew you could do it, but I've never understood exactly how it works. Thanks to you and Linea for this.
  10. Actually, Rooted still lowers movement speed inside Granite, just not outside of it.
  11. Well, if you ever exemplar below 27 you're going to not have mez protection. But if your plan is to never go out of granite, then *technically* you don't need rooted. I don't think I'd skip it though.
  12. /Dark or /Water are good. /Dark is particularly good because the tohit debuffs stack well with the resist buffs you give in Sonic Resonance. The reason I say /Dark and /Water is that both of these sets have a self heal.
  13. to end speculation
  14. Just my two cents Water spout is amusing as another havoc causing power. The entire reason my illusion/storm went leviathan was water spout. Coralax is ok, but definitely squishy. Psi tornado is NOTHING like tornado. It is purely a ranged aoe dot attack that has a knock up component at the beginning. Compare it to ball lightning or fireball or fissure, not tornado
  15. This topic amuses me.
  16. Generally the rule of thumb is to have capped Res/Def to whatever you're farming... now, that's not necessary with Illusion if you have perma Phantom Army, however, your timing for getting PA off is going to be key, if you mess it up and your one expires before getting the next off, you're going to faceplant. Between this and the fact that OSA and Fireball are your only real AoE, I'd leave it at this: If you want to "Farm" to say you did it, go for it, but as Warpact said, if you're looking to actually farm, a Spines/Fire or Rad/Fire brute are going to be your better bet.
  17. I really like my Ill/TA. In terms of how good it is, I guess that's in the eye of the beholder. With Perma PA you can solo AVs with it, but it's not going to be the fastest at doing so.
  18. To be fair, my Stone/DM which has capped Def/Res to everything but psi gets rocked in 801.A
  19. That's a pretty solid build you've got there, should do what you need it to.
  20. Secondary does not mean non-existent or don't use, it means it should be second to what you do best. Also, healing is the worst form of damage mitigation in this game, this is not WoW. There is a reason the archetype is called "Defender" and not "Healer". In the end, its your toon, and if you want to be 1/2 as effective as you could be, who am I to stop you. You don't need Acrobatics, take assault instead you'll do better with an end redux in enforced morale, the recharge is short enough, plus you have a ton of global recharge. You don't need 2 travel powers, skip Super Jump, take Aim and slot a Chance for Build Up in there, that will make your Thunderous Blast actually worth firing. Conduit of Pain doesn't need so much recharge, 1 slot is fine. World of Pain could use more resistance slotting, you've only got it about half of ED enhancement level Just an FYI: Rune of Protection's recharge can't be reduced Slot a Steadfast Protection and Gladiator's Armor Def buff in something, that's 6% defense right there Painbringer does not need any endmod enhancements, 800% recovery pretty much can't be eaten through
  21. You're completely neglecting your secondary, which makes me sad. I haven't run a pain since live, so I can't make more comments than that.
  22. I see just a couple of things I would change. 1. Disruption Field - Enzymes are expensive last I checked, no need to slot since the only thing they're doing is endrdx. Just slow 2 level 50 Common End Reduxes 2. Scream - Unless you're already level 47+ and have no intention of ever exemping down, I would try to fit this in earlier. Maybe swap Maneuvers for it? 3. Super Speed at 49 - Are you just taking this for full invisibility? you may be better off with Tactics or Assault in that slot. That's just personal preference though.
  23. I get the RP perspective, but it's already too easy to just fight council all the way up to 50, this would make it even more so.
