  1. No longer true, unless they shut down again in the last month or so. Other than that, most/all of what you said is accurate, at least the ones that I can verify (like I can't verify the private servers part other than to say that they definitely exist because people on the CoH subreddit are asking questions about hosting them fairly often). But you also missed a)the fact that Rebirth (not Reborn, which is the other name for Pleiades) exists, and b)the fact that (for anyone who isn't familiar with what the formatting of the name means) /coxg/ is the 4chan server, which means that it's most likely either a)overrun with racists, sexists, ableists, and people 'pretending' to be those 'for the meme' (but not realizing that if no one else knows that you're pretending, it's literally only funny to you, or in some cases not actually pretending at all and using 'for the meme' as a shield to hide behind if they get called out), b)all-but-completely unregulated, for better or worse, or c)both.
  2. I have four characters with 'a completely different person' as at least one of their costume slots. Back before my old computer broke, I made "M2 Reborn" and "Girl Gadgeteer", both of whom have '2099' inspired costumes (given the nature of the Marvel 2099 universe, by necessity it's a different character under the mask), and M2 has also a '1602' inspired one (technically the same character, but born in a different era and therefore a different person shaped by different experiences). Also around that time I made "Mobile Armor Sigma", who is a team of young cadets from an asteroid colony in another universe, who stole a mecha to save their instructors when the enemy army attacked, but were knocked through an artificial singularity and crashed down in Paragon City. Since then, now that I have a new computer, I've added to that list "Trinity McCullen", a mutant gunslinger whose power either turns her into or switches her with (she still hasn't figured it out yet) one of two other people when she is 'in over her head', those being "A-Bomb" Gibson, a 'nuclear man', and "Ace" Cohen, a former pilot (or at least with the memories of one) who can fly under her own power now.
  3. He's not asking about removing walls (in fact, if you're smart and follow the "Base Builder's Cheat Sheet" instructions, that's a moot point because you can build under/on top of your base then), he's asking about having water extend to the horizon (and therefore probably already has followed the Base Builder's Cheat Sheet and built on top of/under his base and has water extending to a sudden random drop into nothing).
  4. There should be! If I wasn't a)as poor IG as I am IRL, and b)just getting back into the game from a second hiatus (this time not because the game died, but because my computer did, just got a replacement today), I'd put one of my alts (probably Girl Gadgeteer, as the CEO of a tech firm and all she would have the money from a RP/'lore' perspective at least, unfortunately the facts don't line up with the lore) on the task of organizing one.
  5. ((I think the lot of you, except the OP/TC and AgentEmu, and maybe Zumberge if I'm reading their post correctly, have forgotten two important things: One, that this is the Roleplaying subforum, and two, that "A Modest Proposal" was satire, Jonathan Swift never intended to legitimately or seriously in any way suggest that the Irish should sell their children as a foodstuff for the rest of the country.))
  6. Hope my computer is back in working order by then (or at all any time, I think the hdd might be giving out). As it stands I'm probably going to miss the official one on Justin this evening.
  7. Most people in my experience would /jranger this, either because "zomg u can't be a hero and be fat" (Blob - granted not a hero but still a fat super whose fat isn't a result of his power, he just uses the two in conjunction - and Big Bertha would have words with those people, among others), or because they assume it's a fetish thing and either aren't into it or they are but want to look 'normal'. I'm going to do the opposite, because as my above examples (and the ones I mentioned in the now-locked smaller-breasts thread, and even Squirrel Girl to an extent) prove, fat supers, both Male and female, do exist.
  8. Literally everyone can afford one of two of those powers. Ninja Run and Beast Run are in the same boat (probably considered the same category, in fact), and those are free on the P2W vendor.
  9. ** POOF ** It's SHOWTIME!
  10. ((Question to all of you, re: karaoke: Do you think I should make the DJ Booth voice chat a mature channel, in case someone wants to bust out something like F tha Police or something equally profanity-laden, or something other ways inappropriate? Or do you think most people will be able to keep it younger-audience friendly?))
  11. Bumping with an UPDATE! TWO updates in fact ((maybe three))! First, WE'RE LISTED! The Yellow Pages (('SG bases repurposed as RP hubs' directory)) has picked up Club Valhalla and given us EXPOSURE! Second, WE HAVE MUSIC! ((I'm still trying to figure out the /sg_music command, because I can't seem to get it to play anything, but for now, and for as long as the club exists, which will probably be as long as Homecoming exists, since some people will want real music and all, I have a Discord server here with a musicbot that takes requests - it's a Hydra bot with a nickname assigned, and it's on a trial run for now, if it doesn't work out or I hear anything bad about Hydra then I'll replace it)) And a sub-announcement from that: FRIDAY NIGHTS ARE KARAOKE/OPEN MIC NIGHT! Brush off your pipes, dig deep in that well of musical knowledge that as Valhalla patrons you must have, and SING YOUR HEARTS OUT! Or various other things, for those of you who may not actually have hearts! ((To participate in the karaoke, join the DJ Booth voice chat, type in h?play (song title) ('karaoke' or 'instrumental'), and either know the lyrics or find them online; we'll have to work on an honor system unless either the default setting is or anyone knows how to set it so that only admins and the DJ role can h?play a song, I'm not sure because while I tested that the play command works as intended, I am the admin of the channel so I wouldn't know how to test if it allows anyone to use the command. If it turns out that only admins/DJs can h?play, then you'll have to make your requests in one of the other text channels, i.e.: ask me or someone who I give the DJ role to if they can play your song.)) ((And possibly third, I've invited the people of the Fragmentary Veritas webcomic to drop by sometime, so we may have some 'celebrity' guests dropping in, but no guarantees.)) EDIT: And third((/possibly fourth depending on the Veritas folks)), WE'RE HIRING! Mostly looking for DJs ((for if I'm not around and it turns out only admins/DJs can play songs)), for my off-hours, but I'm sure more roles will come up. Bartenders? Maybe! Bouncers? Probably!
  12. I've a)set up a Discord server for Club Valhalla, with IC and OOC text and voice chats, as well as a musicbot (a nicknamed Hydra bot, on a trial period, if it doesn't work out or I find out anything bad about Hydra - hold the Marvel and DFB jokes please - then I'll try to find another one) that takes requests; and b)updated the Notes on Valhalla's entry in the directory to reflect that. The invite link is in the notes, and will be posted in the Club Valhalla thread from when I first started working on it. This is a stopgap until I can figure out/get someone to help me with getting music working in my base, though I do intend to keep both the musicbot on Discord as well as the in-game music once I figure it out, since some people don't have/use Discord.
  13. Pardon, SKU? I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the Source Code. SKU isn't a coding thing, it's the product code for a purchased item (i.e.: what a cashier types in when they can't scan an item you're buying at a store, for example).
  14. I forgot to mention one vital step in that version of the method: To move anything outside the bounds of the normal base area, you have to hit F3, or go to the Options button at the bottom of the base builder menu (that used to be the "Exit Base Builder" button before the latest patch) and go to Room Clipping and turn it on (I find F3 is quicker and more reliable, but the menu-based option is there anyway).
  15. That one is incredibly easy. What I assume the Talos Keys owner did, and what I did on Club Valhalla (though thinking about it, I probably didn't need to, since I surrounded the place with rocks to simulate an asteroid anyway, but it was still fun), was to fill a room (select a square in the room, "Add" the bigger block on the Object pane, and "Apply style to room"), move the base portal pillar to on top of that, exit base builder, type /stuck to move to the portal, and start building on the roof (alternately, fall/fly off the edge and start building under the base). The other option, if you don't care about whether you keep or lose the walls and just want the sky, is to do the first part of 'fill a room from above (i.e.: select a square), 'remove' the top thin block on the 'Object' pane, then 'Select Style' and set 'High Ceilings' to "Open Sky" and 'Apply To Room' or 'Apply To Base'.
  16. I wasn't astounded by that fact (it's a simple slash command in base edit mode, /sg_music [filename], filenames are available on CoH Wiki, ParagonWiki, etc, I believe I posted a link to the page and info about how to find the filename from that page, in another thread, check my profile for it), but I was impressed that they got it working, because I've been trying in Club Valhalla and the music doesn't seem to play, and I know my music channel is up high enough because I heard the music in Talos Keys. EDIT: I found the list in an easier to digest and easier to find form, over on the CoH subreddit: Here
  17. /sign, I say. At least as a power for the more 'leadership-y' or 'tanky' roles, or added to the Leadership pool, because I don't feel like it makes sense for the guy in the back lines or the junior member of the team/SG/task force/whatever to be calling targets, but someone who is a proven strategist (Masterminds, Controllers, maybe Dominators), or tanks so they can control the heat, or even a new 'Tactician' AT (whether it's the new pets/ranged AT that someone proposed in another thread, or just one built around ranged and buffs/debuffs/cc powers or something with a Call Target ability). Do you want everyone to get kicked from teams for leeching? Because that's how you get everyone kicked from teams for leeching. Seriously, 'have yourself on follow/auto-attack on another character' is the most common leech tactic aside from the old tried-and-true 'Go. Hunt. Kill Skuls." method.
  18. 6PM my time, Saturday? Unless my friends and I end up hanging out that weekend for one of their birthdays, I might actually make this one, just have to make sure to either eat dinner early or late in order to have the time to attend.
  19. Does anything in my first reply to the thread imply that a)I want it to be done or b)I didn't think it would be work (granted I do think you're overestimating just how much work it would be)? Literally all I said was that the current devs are aware of the meme.
  20. Sure, but with stuff like the Sentinel AT and some of the patch note stuff (including GM Widower saying, before locking the thread because the conversation got away from the topic at hand and more towards the idea of whether playing as a child was inherently pedophilia and whether it's sexist to say that 'women have to have big boobs' and 'a woman with a flat chest is basically just a man', that they would consider extending the lower bounds of the Chest slider, at least on female characters, so that not every female superhero has D-cups or bigger), it's safe to say that the current team are more happy to make drastic changes than the old team were. It's a matter of context and information.
  21. That said, Takamoto Industries (which I notice isn't on the directory, and I'm debating whether to correct that or not) is 'semi-public'/'pseudo-public', in the sense that it's a corporate HQ so it's to be expected that a majority, if not all, of the people using it would be either employees (aka sg members), friends of employees, applicants, or contractors; but on the whole I'm alright with people using it, seeing as the info is out there, just that I'd prefer it be mostly used for the above purposes.
  22. In Leandro's base stream last month(?), he and Wolf joked a bit about the Big Red Ball mini-meme, so if nothing else, the people with their hands on the code are aware of it.
  23. I would say if either OP found the base code or the base's creator added the base code to the database, it should be considered open to public. Otherwise why would the base code be a)left somewhere that OP could find it or b)added to the list by the creator?
  24. Not Dr. Manhattan meddling? Either way, that does solve the issue/paradox of some people treating it like 7 years have passed since sunset, others treating it like a different universe, and others treating it like it's the same universe but little to no time has passed, in a way.
  25. Intra-base. Inter-base means 'from one base to another', which we can't do, only 'from one room in the base to another room in the same base'.
