It actually made me wince to hear you talk about how important the experience was. the merits? meh. I only deal with giant monsters for badges. period. once in a great while i will join smashing adamastor for a few, but he is punctual and quick. But i pass that up 19 times before I am bored enough to trek to the far end of echo dark astoria.

I honestly do not know how you made it to 20. My best attempt was a Dark Invul Brute who soloed every contact that could not be done at 50. But that still leaves all 35-50,40-50 and 45-50 plus 50 stuff. This AR Dev Blaster should at least kill faster. That will be a comfort on the kill alls.

I also bit the bullet on a "stoopid" project a couple hours ago. I have a placeholder name. I might change it. The concept is golden. My poor character. Why do I torture them? So, This guy is a brain in a jar. More correctly he is brain in a #4 General Products Starship Hull (Larry Niven reference) Which is on top of a robot body. He is actually a cloned brain. The Puppeteers figured out it was better to use humans to discover and explore things. But it is a very dangerous place. So they used a cloned brain and the robot body is self repairing. You see, the puppeteers are concerned about the space time dimensional anomalies surrounding Paragon Praetoria and points east. So they have sent this probe, er agent, to discover EVERYTHING. My poor character knows none of this. He thinks he signed a contract to be a scout and got screwed by not reading the fine print. The contract is right there in the on board computer. When he finishes his task he gets put back in his body. (...good luck there...) The Task. Complete every contact in the game. every mission. Red/Blue/Gold/Incarnate. Stop Exp and side switch (gold is all in ouro) This way the data will all be available to the people he is working for. (The party of the First Part" in the contract. AR/Dev Blaster. Because they finally made AR decent. (and the onboard quantum powerplant and replicator can produce infinite ammo....)

I have a Invul Kinetic Melee Tank at 50. It was a lark to see if I could get a ranged Tank. It mostly worked. Now, the range is really short, but 50%? of his attacks are not in melee range. Also, Kinetic Melee is on very few peoples favorite list of power sets. "race car sounds" (mike work for robots) a strange stacking build up mechanic. And mediocre damage. But it fits certain concepts. And laser beam eyes are 38. I can get a toon to 38 in about 30 min. Or, if I do not use my alt acct to PL them maybe (does quick math) 8-10 hours play? 4 DFBs, then start running TFs TFs TFs. Keep an eye out for high level teams taking anyone. double exp booster. Grind!!!

I would make him a Tank. He is supposed to be planet sized... You can use the Energy Mastery Pool to get laser eyes. Or a Brute, since from my quick read he is some sort of chaos diety? Then you can go Radiation or Energy Melee. I always prefer a Hyperstrike Invul build for gold standard toughness. But you could do good things with Rad armor.

I have never been drawn to the healers of buffers in a game. In some ways I know they get incredible powers to boost teams. I hate playing Corruptors to some extent because I have to buff or heal. With the new playstyle and incarnate powers it is my perception at 50 anyone who is more Buff/Control/Support than a Corruptor is a weaker choice for a team/league. In the modern 50 environment it is Destinies and Damage.

I like the idea of jumping onto a farmer and bootstrapping yourself up the mountain. For OCD players it can be rewarding. There is a burnout risk. But if tou set a goal and achieve it then use the funds to set yourself up more power to you protip; put that farmer on an alt acct. then you can PL yourself solo when you want to start a new toon at 25 instead of 1. Or open your alpha slot in 5 minutes on a new 50

Yes, I was noodling around on all TF/SF etc and was at 42/43 That +4 MC put me at bottom of 48. I burned my experience charges and farmed him to 50, openend alpha slot in another 5 min and T4'd that with emailed emps.

Ach! Mein PUGs. Sooooo.... I joined 2 people in IP to take down Lusca. A few more were recruited. I think we got up to 7. We were not doing bad. Not fast. Couple deaths. Making progress. Get him down to two arms and we attack the head. By "we" I mean one other. Three attacked an arm. Teo stood around. I asked nicely, I explained. Nooooo, that arm was going down. And the next. Sooooo... Now we are on the head. I cannot resist. In team chat I say. "Little known fact, there is a seafood truck to the west you can kill before you kill the head as well." slight pause. "Is there a badge?" I cannot help myself. "Oh yeah, truck says Spanky's on it." THREE of these folks head to the west like Yomo's over there giving out billion inf prize sacks. Of course our DPS went to shit. I laugh, and then call them back. Damn. Does no one recognize sarcasm anymore? Has that what this world has come to?

Well, I mean between missions. It is just a habit of long term play. /macro AH AH gives a power button to open AH and I exit the mission (after it ends) open AH, grab a stack or two or insp, close and head to next door. takes ...10-15 secs tops...? But that is not nearly fast enough with a speed Aeon crew. (and I have slower travel powers. Mystic Flight has a TP I use to strealth past mobs. But it is one of the slower travels in CoH)

I think you missed the first sentence. Yes, the stuns are Mag 2. The trick is to Stack them for Mag 4. Do your Point Blank work. Then joust out. (and it works)

Honestly I have never looked at Defender. Corruptor I think does more damage? Plus, the Archetype title alone... My undead wraith Corrupts, does not Defend!

On my Dark Dark Corr I fully agree. But since I am avoiding melee range completely I only pull Dark Embrace and Soul Storm (my 4th ST Hold!) from Soul Mastery.

I can see the danger. For those instances I plan on cones and ST. Maybe Ice Storm. But Blizzard (like Seismic's Meteor) will be hauled out when it is actually needed. To me that i when a TF gets interesting. If you are zipping along at a furious pace I can pew pew and ride the coattails. When you accidentally pull all the spawns into one area and bog down. I got you. But yeah, if two Fire Blasters and a Brute are hopped up on juice and destroying everything it is different. I just spend my time visually confirming objectives accomplished and keeping close enough to see if they are in trouble. Mayb pew pew at a Boss or EB

One of my main issues with Aeon is getting to the objectives (and understanding) Now, turn everything in the TF into haunted house murder bots and I am pretty much done.
