  1. For me it is all pretty academic. On high end teams (or even exemplared to run Silver Mantis) my Dark/Dark Brute relies on Aoe (Dark.....yes, AoE) to do most of the work until I hit an AV or EB. It is just way more effective to be 'mass communicating' rather than ST cherry picking in a chaotic environment. My Brutes learned a long time ago (partly because I am not a great player, partly because CoX is not great for specific targeting out of the box) that I will not get to pick who I fight. I do more damage just killing what is near me and wandering towards where I hope is where the team wants me to be. I keep chanting "Kill the one you're with" to the tune of "Love the one you're with" I will be creating an Energy Melee / (prob Invul ) Stalker robot. It will be a nod to the assassin robot in Star Wars 5 ...2....errrr the second, no, thats not right, the original Star Wars movie series.. IG-88s. Friendly efficient little machines programmed to kill. And doing as instructed they immediately killed their creators. Succcess! What has science done?!? But while it will be tons of fun I am sure I sincerely doubt it will allow me to be as useful on a team or league as my Brutes. And since I am already only moderately useful I need to stay focused!
  2. I did finish these yesterday, as well as all V-day tip badges. Thanks for all the help. I side switched to Hero to start the secoind arc. Both alignment variations I picked up a teammate of opposite alignment to help. Round robin back to Rogue picking up a few more badges. ( I started at Villain, went to Rogue and never changed. At 800+ badges I clicked through a decent number of "you got this badge" notice when I cycled through) Thanks again. This is my only badger. I like doing certain badges, hate doing others. No sense to it. These I hated.
  3. i literally have never noticed. but i like teams that run TF at +0 for badges/merits and most high rolling teams i join stay on the same zone.
  4. Brute. Energy Melee Electric Armor. I normally don't run Electric Armor but at those levels it gets EVERYTHNG you need. You will be a "God of Posi 1 & 2"
  5. My main is a Dark/Dark Brute. I do run all 3 Aura toggles, allatime. Dam/Fear/Stun. Generally the fear they just cower and get the ghost skull on them. Took me a while to get used to the stun though. Certain mobs, you stun them, they just start staggering around like zombies on cocaine. clueless, brainless, but making darned good speed! I was like, wait! I havent killed you yet! The damage mitigation of Fear is real. I am totally spitballing here but I am guessing it is about the same as knockdown. Stops the mobs from attacking for one or two attacks. everything adds up, buys time, etc
  6. Interesting discussion in game from the innocent Help question "Does it screw up the mission when I enter first?" I said "No." There were people who had some strange responses. There were some well stated responses as well, including about TFs being a special circumstance. Does entering a mission before the leader, or while the leader is in another zone, affect the mission settings? Thanks.

    Energy Melee

From the "More than just a Ninja" pinned to top of Stalker AT page Energy Melee: Energy Melee is back! It hits hard and melts Archvillain like no one else. The best Single Target Damage in all Stalker Primaries with a little mechanic called Energy Focus. Using Total Focus gives you one stack (2 stacks when crit) of Energy Focus. You can spend one Stack to make Energy Transfer fast. You can also spend EF stacks to improve your Cone, yes Stalkers Energy Melee have AoE now! There is also the option to pick up the t1 power to spend EF stacks on a minor regen debuff...it is an easy skip for me. I use EF stacks exclusivly on Energy Transfer. The i27 update was the best that could happen to Energy Melee from worst to obe of the best Stalker Primaries!

    Energy Melee

I was about to say my research is leading me to starting the first Stalker I have ran since a few low level attempts on live. Evidently EM tops the Stalker power choices right now.
  9. Same. If I could have an all zombie pet group I would be running that. So many possibilities there
  10. Want to watch me make this pencil disappear? Pay close attention... Go to the character creator. Select Mastermind. get to costume creator. Pick female. Tailor to satisfaction. You have a female Mastermind. Ta-da!
  11. Thanks. I really put this off. I hate Valentines Day. There should really be an optional V-Day Massacre alternate for villains. So many kills of certain mob types awarding each badge. Just a suggestion.
  12. DJ Zero will not give me missions. Just says go dance. Scratch introduced me to choice Percy or Unai. then doesnt talk anymore. Scratch did not introduce me to DJ Z. Is there a current way to get these two badges?

  14. I have been playing...a few days... There has never been even a hinted rumor that Purples are anything besides completely random drops. Of course, some of these geeks can keep a underground server hidden for years. Looks around. So, I suppose anything is possible.
  15. Why not just put Single Origins on him if he is just a zombie? Armor him up as much as you want (and want to spend) and then just slap burn on autofire and put him on follow?
  16. I have run a Dark/Invul 50 Brute on live for a long time. I have one here I ran for a month or two. I have a Invul/Dark Tank i ran here for a month or two. I almost never run Tanks for that long before moving on. I feel Invul/Dark Tank is the strongest Tank in the game. effortless melee control of all opponents. however, a very high recharge Dark/Invul Brute is just sick strong. I would still be on one as my main if I did not find the three aura toggles on my Dark/Dark Brute so satisfying. Damage/Fear/Stun. You do have to pump the heal more though lol.
  17. really detailed environments that are beautiful. the last (and best) story arc system. really freaking hard content. endless petty politics. no escape until 20... I soloed it a few times on live. The politics in the end ruined it for me. Give me a kill all from some criminal mastermind any day over that holier than thou crapola
  18. Okay. I still hear what you are saying. And you are wrong. The statement above is just word smush that means nothing. "Brutes ane now in a position where they can no longer effictively Tank on most teams unless they jump a couple groups ahead...." WTF does that even mean? I mean yes. i read it. I understand the words. Can you explain how going off solo is "Tanking?" It has been said, time and again. and again. and then one more time. Brutes can Tank. For A team. Forget it. i am out for coffee.
  19. Let me tell you the story of Redside. Sit down with something warm to drink. Next to a fire, preferably burning on the bodies of your enemies. The Devs envisioned MMs as Redside Tanks. Do not ask me why. Redside teams had no patience for that. Do you? So Redside teams let Brutes take the Alphas. That is mostly it on a good team. Not hold agro. Not herd. Soak the first strike and survive. Then your team hits back with everything they got. In busy maps. (There are a LOT more busy maps Redside) where opponent mobs are close and splash agro is practically guaranteed a second Brute will take that Alpha. If you do not have a second Brute that means you got Doms, Corr, MMs, something that can at least start to lock down the craziness. When teams learned the tactics well and built their toons to take advantage of it true ROFLSTOMP teams were born. Leapfrogging from one giant room spawn to the next. Brute taking the Alpha, team cleaning. Second Brute (not off-brute) jumping to the next fresh spawn to start the process. Players that like to clean mop up would be doing that and move on at the tail end of teams. Brutes would be in the front. Everyone else right behind the Brute. If you build a Brute to Tank (taking Taunt, which is NOT required for ROFLSTOMP tactics) you can Tank okay with it. Not quite as good as a Tanker because of the Agro mechanism on Taunt regarding Tanks. I Tank with my Dark/Dark Brute on heavy Psi damage incarnate Trials. My Brute does not have Taunt. It aint necessary when you keep punching something in the face. If, big if, You have a team where there is a traditional Tank and you try to "off-tank" and your team is slowly working the map from one less than 17 mob spawn until the next. Yeah, you probably will not enjoy the experience. If I am on a team doing that..... I will be soloing the spawn ahead of you. Wave to me.
  20. After a couple tough experiences lately (some teams ...wow lol. They do not get that +4/x8 has to be approached with a plan. Everyone sees it in AE and thinks every team should run this every mission) I have revised my Main's build to get Rune of Protection. The build is tighter. Tankier. But Dark/Dark WILL fold under enough pressure. Pressure that an Invul Brute would most likely not fold under. But Dark has Soul Transfer. An insanely powerful Rez that recharges in less than a minute and a half on my build. Still, Bruting instead of Tanking is about more than "how much damage can I take?" Bruting is a commitment to the sloppy ROFLSTOMP team style that Redsiders invented. Tanking is built for militant by the numbers, line up in an orderly fashion to be killed style. Either AT can do either style. But Brutes revel in the former and Tanks glory in the latter. This Villain build was built using Mids Reborn 3.0.4.7 https://github.com/Reborn-Team/MidsReborn Click this DataLink to open the build! 21. I suppose this is a two-fold question. I assume Stalkers do more 'burst' damage? Which AT does more damage over a longer fight? Are Stalkers more suited to big AV fights due to the sustainability of damage in a long fight or are Scrappers?

    I wanna pew pew!

I made a Brute "Tank Mage" out of Kinetic Melee / invulnerability. It was pretty comfortable at non melee ranges. Odd duck. i incarnated it and played it for a couple weeks. Not a favorite. Shattered for parts. But it did work at what it was designed for...
