and the second group poses the first problem. listed as contacts 5-9, but contacts in 5-9 range are 1-7. So, not useless, but not accurate...

You left out “using strategy” but it may be implied in the wall of answers

I am starting my solo every contact Blueside (and red/gold!) But it is Blue where I am struggling. I do not want to miss any contact. There is much misinformation out there and no way I have discovered to search definitively for the info and be sure nothing is missed. My goal is to knock out 1-14 before Oct 31st, this way I can badge the Halloween Mansion. There is so much misinformation, like what i am posting below from another thread. Which has contacts that no longer give missions. The wikis are helpful, but also cause problems due to overload of information AND missing information. So I am asking people to post contacts they know are real in the 1-14 Blue side, preferable with level ranges listed. Thanks. Level Technology Mutation Natural Science Magic 1-5 Rick Davies Antonio Nash Susan Davies Jonathan Smythe Azuria Caitlin Murray Prince Kiros Nandelu Derek Amberson Rebecca Brinell Gregor Richardson Maurice Feldon Juan Jimenez Jose Brogan Henry Peter Wong Genevieve Sanders 5-9 Paula Dempsey Linda Summers Rachel Torres Kip Cantorum Laurence Mansfield Tony Kord Ron Hughes Vic Johansson Samuel Pierce Paco Sanchez Athena Currie Alfonse Rubel Lorenzo DiCosta Jill Pastor Dr. Trevor Seaborn 10-14 Carla Brunelli Sanjay Chandra Wes Schnabel Kyle Peck Haley Phillips Everett Daniels Wilson Zucco Willy Starbuck Tristan Caine Hugo Redding The origin contacts in the same level ranges offer all the same missions. So, e.g., you don't need to do the missions from both Ashwin Lannister and Laurie Pennington. They both offer only the level 25-29 Mutation-origin missions.

CoX in Six Words - using only six words, describe CoX

Villain. Out for a walk. Bitch. -
I am phasing away from running leadership toggles. Over the last year or so it has become regular for me to pick up all three then a friend pointed out most teams and leagues that are good do not need them. Most teams that might benefit from them are so scattered and chaotic that they will be minimal in value. so i plan to build and slot in other wayseven maneuvers is getting a hard second look on builds I consider it standard for

I have fallen back on one if my oldest loves. Dark/Invul Brute. This thing is a beast. I could have run a Blaster and probably be done a bit faster. But this was one of the first “you can do that?” Characters for me. I started on SS/Invul and followed the forum advice of a guru speaking of high recharge Dark/Invul insanity. And they were right. It suits the backstory I am running as well. My main, a vampire, named Snarky. Incarnate Blaster. Sitting around thinking. Too much. So many dangers in the world, even for an incarnate. Sunlight, stake to the heart, cutting off the head, and medi porters can only save you so often. As we know from certain story lines. Sooooo Snarky took all of his incarnate powers and with the help of a powerful sorceress coalesced Negative Material Plane energy ( the source of a Vampires power) into a solid “hyper real” substance on the Prime Material plane. This they used to craft a robotic chassis ( basically a golem) that would act as a soul jar (like for a lich) that they bound his spirit to. They stabilized his body in a moment of time, cut off his head, and attached it to the golem robot which is powered by Negative material energy just like a vampires body. Now Snarky was all but indestructible (in theory) but nearly devoid of power ( all his current stash going into creating the golem and bonding himself to it. He would need to gather more power (from the well). As part of the process (and for safety, the best secrets no one knows) he slipped back through the time stream to before anyone knew him. Now he could gather power in relative obscurity and safety. And while he was at it….make contact with every possible individual in Paragon City and the Rogue Isles AND Praetoria. Because it is not what you know, it’s who you know. And everyone would know Snarky. Or as he goes now….Snarkbot.

This was why i said Blueside is way more complicated. You can do ALL content. Many Contacts are “duplicates” especially in the older lower level stuff. An old memory says this trails off after 30 or so. By doing the content on one of the Duplicates you eliminate the possibility (and need) to redo those exact same missions and story arcs 4 more times. You do still need to do the footwork on all Contacts to see if in fact they correlate to someone you have completed. Unless some Dev or search Guru has a list of those they would kindly share?

If you start Gold you will miss contacts 1-20 Red and Blue. Only Gold has ALL 1-20 content in Ouro (required for badges)
-
I am starting a new toon that will do every contact Red/Blue/Gold. Sigh lol. I will need to do Gold 1-20 in Ouro. Stop experience at 4,7, 9, 14, 19 etc. I have a detailed list of all Redside. I have succeeded at that multiple times. For Blue it is very complicated. Many contacts are ‘alternate’ contacts that provides the exact same story arcs and side stories on Blueside as other contacts. As far as I know this is written for different origins to make the replay seem different but carbon copy the same content. My strategy: list all zones in level range i am working on. Wiki search each zone/contact. Make list. Grind grind grind. When everyone in appropriate zones stop hiving missions double check contacts i wrote down. Any that are incomplete research to determine if they are duplicates or unlockable or something else If zone is complete check off. If there are contacts that are for later write down in my notebook for later. I think i can have the project done by end of Spring. Going to be a long Winter lol

I just started THE character. The one i will climb (my) Mount Everest on. It is a Brute My Mountain is soloing every story arc in the game on one character. I have successfully dome this Redside quite a few times. I recently tried Red/Gold combined and had a brain fart at 29 and forgot to turn off experience. I have never successfully soloed Blue. Boring and complicated. Why a Brute. It started for me with Brutes. Nearly as tough as Tankers and more damage. At a certain point in toughness it does not matter after all. I started after Good vs Evil was published and my first character(s) were SS/Invul Brutes breaking out of the Zig. After a lot of play I know the toughest (to me) is a Dark/Invul Brute built for recharge. It is my “classic”. It fits my concept. It will be slower than a Blaster kitted for Stealth. But it will do okay. I will have multiple builds for various mission types, including one with full stealth. This will be what a solo most missions on. One for Teams/Task Forces. One for Psi environments. This is a very long term project and will be simmering on the back burner quite a while. I am starting them now thy get the Halloween/Christmas/Spring badges as part of the journey

My main keeps getting random tells ( all year long) about how close it is to Murnau’s Nosferatu. I don’t want to be Snarky but I was trying for a ‘happy’ look. Sigh…

I started a Dark Dark Controller over the weekend. My first Controller. I used my alt acct Farmer to PL for 20 minutes to 28. Then I levelled him up and slapped SOs all over and a few Globals like Panacea and Perf Shifter. Then I did what I love to do, run the Freedom Phalanx TFs in order to learn a build. Well, I did Posi 1, 2, and Synapse. I do not lead, so I wait for them to post in LFG. And i am badging on my main watching server chatter. The nice thing about a Controller....is everything. Except damage. We'll talk lol. Since I kmow the game pretty well I did not feel useless. I know exactly what my debuffs, immobs, and disorients are doing. I play this squishy as close to the middle of large spawns as I can crowd. THose who know me know I only play squishy at range. I have no problem on this thing walking up to a very large spawn and start dropping control, with teammates still finishing last spawn. At least through level 20 content. We shall see. But I do have to stay extremely tight with team. They are the ones actually killing. If I see a team split I make a decision who needs my support. Then commit to making sure that teammate(s) has a much easier time. No ATT? No issues, I pop two medium purps and fly through every hallway to get to the teammates who are working while people sit at the door. Then I drop the controls and ATT. It is a fun fun way to work though content. Not sure I am helping speed. My teams are making decent times. A little over 30 for each Posi and 1:30 for Synapse. But we all know those can go a lot faster. But they were smooth. Definitely working with the team on this character.

Because it is Halloween, or because I am a madman I have decided to start a Dark/Dark/Soul Controller alt. I have run some Dominators in my time, but never a Controller. My first thought is to throw things like Grav Anchors Hold Proc in Living Shadows Immob Cone. This can help me get to better Hold numbers (possibly?) Are there any other Hold procs I could be looking at? Danged controllers have fat AoE patches lol. Be nice to sweeten them up. I plan to run this very different than most of my "ranged squishies" Obviously I am not a primary damage dealer. More like a very powerful yet incredibly squishy tank. I will be taking the Teleport pool along with Fold Space. There are some looooong recharge times on these big guns. Will be interesting learning the rythyms. I PL'd to 28 and slotted mostly SOs. I will be running through the Freedom Phalanx Task Forces in order to learn the playstyle, rather than finish farming it out. Any tricks or treats are appreciated.

I still enjoy "PUG speed TF" to blow out the acronyms and weird terms. PUG = Pick up Group. PUG Speed TF really means stumbling through at a kill most even if not necessary to kill most. To me this is fun. Just chaos.

second me on this.

Yeah my normal look is a vampire….so i never put on a “Halloween costume” lol
-
Working with someone who played the game for a few months until they fixed an obviously broken mechanic. Okay. Whatever floats your boat. personally i am pretty happy there is an agro cap

Was trying to badge with friends. Chatting in Discord. Bitching about only one of us getting a Halloween tip despite previous nights halloween leagues. Devising SG strategies for getting tips and utilizing them best Then one of us read that YOU NEED TO BE IN COSTUME To get Halloween tips. cheers folks. We laughed for half hour. (And got all 7 badges in that time

I was told last week we would have MM pet customization this week. *taps foot. “Ahem….”
-
yeah...that page doesnt get much posting i guess? the patch note i read was from 2019....it did mention halloween though
-
I must be misunderstanding something as usual In the patch notes it said there are now 8 explore badges and an accolade for each PvP zone. But….wasnt there already?
-
is it possible there is a variable creating the difference?

1 When did you started playing CoX? Was it before or after the game shut down? Tell me a little about how you met the game. I found the game right after "Good vs. Evil" was released. Somewhere in 2004. Random pick in a videogame store. 2 Have you played the game before the shut down in 2012? If the answer is yes, tell me about how you feel about the game’s “Death”. What was that experience like? Yes. I felt a lot of anger. I stopped playing about a month before the servers shut down because it angered me to go into the game. 3 And when the game returned in 2019? What did you felt? Was it like a “Homecoming”? I was very happy to have my favorite game back. 4 What was the first thing you did after playing the game for the first time in years? Made a Super Strength Invulnerability Brute Villain and started doing crimes. 5 What are your thoughts on the return of the servers? Did you brought something with you from the original server? (Avatars, builds, things like that) Many of my current characters are just evolutions of my original play style. I have started to branch out and explore. But my first year back was revisiting all my old favorites 6 Do you like to play with a specific character? (can be more than one) If yes, what makes it so special to you? I have a couple characters that I write backstories for. These I will play endlessly. One has a few different in game archetypes and builds but the exact same look, same name. I like the ability to create a character from the ground up, costume playstyle powersets and final build. This feels like more creative control in portraying he character in my head.

I regularly feel the call to solo content. My most traditional way is to solo every contact Redside. I stop experience at 4 (Kalinda and Burke), (there are a couple that outlevel at 7 Kuzmin, Weber, Harris, at 8 Dr Creed and Mongoose, then stop at 9, 14, 19, 24, 29, 34, 39, 44, 50 . Any contacts are completed at the TOP of their arc. if you are a 20-29 story arc I run at 29. 25-50? 50! For low levels ensure you have your four DFBs to 22 then four DiB to 30. Those buffs help. SOs are better until about 29 than sets, other than a few globals. The temporary buffs from P2W are real cheap at low level. get 8 hours for as long as you can keep affording it. The enhancers from P2W are also real good until 21.

Are Porters in Sky Raiders interesting or just half baked?
Snarky replied to DougGraves's topic in General Discussion
They can be damned inconvenient in a kill all
