What cones does this have that i do not have?
-
Well, devs, my favorite TF is no longer fun to solo.
Snarky replied to Bill Z Bubba's topic in General Discussion
Finally a place my Storm/Water Blast with no KB mitigation will get some love. Bill, add Snarknado to your team. Problem solved -
I did get to one of the CoH sites set up at a Comic Con back in the day. Although (damned memory) I forget if it was San Diego, Portland, or Seattle. I need a new chipset.

You are doing it wrong. No other way to say it. Was asked once. Did you mean Fire Armor? Because Fire Armor in a Fire farm, even on SOs, is fine. Maybe not at +4/x8 but decent at +1/x8. Then you can start to get bank and build I/O. Check forums (or i am sure a couple nice folks here posted farm builds) and get one. People ise these things to AFK farm. They load in then go watch youtube. If you cannot actively farm with one….

Is farming an imbalanced method of earning ingame rewards?
Snarky replied to macskull's topic in General Discussion
I think one of the richest players ( definitely two of the richest i know) have various buy cheap sell at market value strategies whether this is ethical, whether it pro ides a service by keeping the flow going, whether they do any converting or upgrading before relisting is not important the simple point is they do make a gigantic haul doing this that dwarfs farming -
Favorite blue side story arcs and contacts
Snarky replied to TraumaTrain's topic in General Discussion
I just did all Goldside Arcs on a mid 20s Blaster through Ouro. for the badges. The character has stealth at a very early level. It was still long but at least it only took days not weeks. On a Brute, fighting through that stuff? yeesh. But yeah, staying off the train tracks was way easier than fighting the train. Damned punishing for anyone who cant cram stealth onto their build however. -
Favorite blue side story arcs and contacts
Snarky replied to TraumaTrain's topic in General Discussion
I do not run Blue other than for badges. Redside, for me, is best side. While Goldside is newer the nonstop politics is exhausting. To me. Redside is pure. There is no "arresting" You go out there and take whatever you want, the way you want. The first contacts Redside lay it all out. Work with Arachnos, but watch your back. OR pretend to work with Arachnos, while doing your own thing, but watch your back. OR avoid Arachnos by doing content that they are only involved with as background lore. Plenty of that. Your villain, your choice. Take what you can, give nothing back. Blueside. Arrest people. Pretend you are not searching their pockets every time you arrest them. Or maybe you have a Hero debit card that is remotely rewarded every time you beat the crap out of a street thug? Hmmm....heroic. So many bad arcs. So many impossible to discern whether the contact is the same as another contact with same missions but just put in by the Devs for....whatever reason. So many blech plot lines. If you call that plot. Goldside. Hey, why don't you spend a few days getting deeply involved in social politics? Philosophy 101 moral choices that are all slanted to one clear choice but pretend it is really a choice? Endless ambushes in missions that are way harder than any other content for the same level range? So much content squeezed into 20 levels you have to run most of the stuff with experience shut off. Good times. Redside. Villains. Don't feel like a villain? Run the Arc where you kidnap Paragon citizens for live vivisection by Vahzilok minions. Rob a few banks. Wipe out a few ships full of arachnos agents (but keep it quiet, no one needs to know) Defeat a thousand Longbow. Defeat. Not arrest. Villains. Yeah. -
At what level did you make 6x Tier4 incarnate?
Snarky replied to cohRock's topic in General Discussion
Most of Cosmic Council's fights against Tyrant in Really Hard Way are not extended. Our last run was not a full League. 17 if I remember right. Not our best damage League by far. But with the strategy used Tyrant was down in about a minute. I much prefer burning the inspirations (I am not short on Inf or threads) and getting the job done rather than be frugal and battle him for a long drawn out battle. Once the Lores drop due to time or multiple deaths it just get harder and harder. -
Is farming an imbalanced method of earning ingame rewards?
Snarky replied to macskull's topic in General Discussion
Imbalanced feels like an awkward word choice. Unbalanced? Imperative? Excelsior!!!!! I do not love farming. Never have. I have started to like farming in very certain instances. 1) when using my alt acct farmer to PL a main account new toon 2) when helping out someone who i feel needs/deserves the help of some AE farm doorsitting. 3) when a bunch of my SG mates happen to be farming and we take 4-8 farmers in and just eat maps It is very fast cash. I still do not love it. I would rather play for fun. Cash flows -
At what level did you make 6x Tier4 incarnate?
Snarky replied to cohRock's topic in General Discussion
For tough incarnate trials those things are PRICELESS. Cosmic Council SG does a Really Hard Way Magisterium Trial every Saturday on Excelsior. Part of the strategy is a full tray of incarnate inspirations for everyone in the league. Many costing 30 threads each. Wonder who is buying those inspirations on the market? People who roll hard on content. I run a lot of 50 content because i learned how to farm my own alts to 50 in a couple hours. And the farmers earn threads / emps as i do it. Therefore i always have incarnate threads to use -
I have an elec/time build that uses invisibilty phase shift and Personal Force Field from Force Mastery. Having high ranged defense then having two extremely powerful and very different get out if jail free cards with a fully ranged set is pretty sturdy
-
you are right. i only read the top description. not why i took/slotted the things. i took 4 cones so that 1) i have a non stop flow of cone damage when wanting AoE. 2) i can aim cones a ton easier when i have them non stop because the target flow is obvious from the last cone i fully realize the cones are not competing with fire blaster AoE. i hit fine with narrow cones due to my above strategy. for the love of god, build different than me. okay. but stop telling me why i build the way i do and why i play the way i do. night fall. fills the hole in the cone (non stop) attack chain and lets me stay lined up. does damage. all i need. se, totally different than how you play or what you think i want
-
None of the cones do DoT. Glad you run a lot of dark.
-
Dark only has one ST DoT, and the Tier 9 is all up front. Not even sure where this hate for Dark is coming from. Again, it is not a fire blaster. But, it is not the lowest Blaster. and it is....a Blaster. you don't like it. okay. go away.
-
Mine evolved from three things. 1) I have always wanted fully ranged Blasters 2) I needed a Ranged character (in my mind) for weekly Really Hard Way Magisterium Trial 3) The Dark Vampire theme. Where you see sacrifice I see beauty. This character packs a hard punch helping a League burn down AVs. Likewise clearing trash mobs. The leadership toggles and crapton of to hit debuff DO make a difference, even if it is not as obvious as Fire Blasting. Played smartly the thing is nearly as survivable as my Tanky Brutes. Many times going in for the Alpha Strike, thanks to Stealth and Blackstar's debilitating secondary effect. Then doing cleanup with either AoE cones or ST ranged. All while nearly untouchable. I run this solo. I run this in slow levelling teams doing kill alls from 1-50. i run this in Incarnate Trials. i run this in +4/x8 ITF. I wont run this in 801/805 AE madness. But any "standard" stuff I gladly grab a version of my main and dive in.
-
roflmao. Dark/Dark Blaster is one of the most survivable Blasters out there. due to the constant to hit debuffs it brings a lot of damage mitigation to the team. While still allowing very respectable (if not the hallowed fire fire combo) levels od damage. The Single Target chain is very solid. Standing off to help burn down an AV is not embarrassing on a Dark Dark. Personally I use 4 cones for the bulk of my AoE work. I can hose a group for as long as they stand there. Being immobilized, with to hit debuffs, while being ate by waves of Dark energy. The tier 9 Blackstar...hmmmm.... Less damage than a Controller? Please. Post that build!

i like that you use Soul Storm. The two holds are so powerful during late game trials. i use them on Victoria robots that like to pacify you, on paragon protectors and on mother mayhem during minds of mayhem. not to mention backup during hami raid and LGTF. My build has a lot of Accuracy so I actually threw the Purple Grav Anchor Hold Proc in Penumbral Grasp for a high priced ghetto 3rd hold.

Made some revisions as I have played this through a lot of content in the last couple months. Here is the current build. yeah, thats "the man in black" farm. when i solo all redside it is one of the very few (only?) i take off standard +0/x1. i set to -1/x3 or -1/x4 depending on character. then clean the map. way better than going to bloody bat street hunting shivans

At what level did you make 6x Tier4 incarnate?
Snarky replied to cohRock's topic in General Discussion
Vet level 10 with all tier 4s, including 4 tier 4 destinies...because incarnate trials happen -
So...I was playing a war mace Brute some months ago. Was having great fun. Until i saw IT. Then, i could see nothing but IT. the only motion the character made in combat was to raise and lower the weapon arm. Up. Down. Up. Down. sigh. I stopped playing it. But in the back of my mind it sat. then i realized the Holiday Nutcracker did the same thing. The soldier thing that cracks walnuts. Hmmmm. Into the costume creator. Finished. Only...Not quite right. Looked at weapons. Looked at Ballet pictures. Looked at toy/nutcracker novelty device...Titan Weapons! Back to costume creator. And....Now I have a 50 I just farmed up. With no idea how to run or build Titan Weapons I come to you kind folks. Below I post a Hyperstrike build that is very tough. Something I would be proud to take into any incarnate trial and tank with. But...it is Super Strength. Any builders out there that know Titan Weapons and what that set needs able to do me a solid and flip this thing over? Everything seems to cost too much influence
Snarky replied to Diantane's topic in General Discussion
I farm once in a while. Usually one if two reasons. I need to 50 a new alt. Or i need enhancement converters. My main (that i am in 90% time) i hoard merits…. So after a farming session i take all farmed influence and buy converters off market. Then i transfer all converters and recipes to main. Who crafts converts and sells for badges and cash. The community gets another person slapping LOTG Numinas and Perf shifters on the market. I generally list at about z75-90% of average sale price. The wheel keeps spinning -
oh gawd! i cAUGHTS IT!

Do not believe in global warming, how disease spreads, or how gravity works. Get some data. In the meantime….still true
