  1. MRB setup.exe was blocked because it could harm your device. after i followed instructions and tried to download the exe.msi (which appears the one i need because I have mids already?) but the next link also failed same text. My only option was feedback, which I said it was safe. No option to install anyways
  2. I played a lot of Redside on live. Starting on Liberty. Then Freedumb. Then Virtue. Although I was TF mad on Virtue and spent a lot of time Blueside with Brickhouse crew. Liberty was dead. And we all sort of got to know each other. Back then a blind invite was a little like castaways trying to bind rafts together. "You want to do this? DONT YOU?...ppppplease?" lol maybe not that bad, but the feeling was always "cmon, we are all we got..." So, for me, the Redside vibe is always in the background. Now, Atlas Park Excelsior is Times Square in comparison. Which is why watching the traffic signals is important. No one is going to "invite" you everytime. Not everyone is following the rules all the time. Watch the crowds, the patterns. Adapt. Profit.
  3. Blind invites are part of Atlas Park culture, at least on Excelsior. For now. It has to do with the caravan of Farmers and the endless parade of low level alts "lf farm" Many farmers send a tell in local, then broadcast, then lfg. Farm X spots available sitters okay. Others... I have been getting more random invites in Atlas. But I go to Atlas as a hub to socialize and I like teaming. Even on a 50 looking for specific TF if I get a farm invite I go. The cash is VERY good.
  4. So, I tried to follow the instructions (after the half page of history and various other strangeness) But my comp say the file will destroy my computer and ruin my life. I told my comp it is safe. The comp is stubborn. So I am using old MiDs and winging it on Energy Melee I guess.
  5. I tried to find the mids dowload for the current version on the forums. It was a water blaster deluge of near undecipherable info. Is there a link to the NEW MiDs that works for the current version of the game?
  6. this is the intricacies of human interaction and perception. a Scroedingers cat of world views. i honestly think the Farmer was probably a newer player, you honestly believe they are more experienced. One thing is certain, it wasnt me. When i do farm it is to join another farmers group. i like teaming, even on farms. the only time i farmed someone in the last six months was interesting. i was on a lowbie lf farm. so i was invited. by another lowbie who gathered one or two more and suggested we farm ourselves. i realized i could not explain AE farming, i had to show them. so i grabbed a Farmer and ran the two of them for a half hour. the player was like "oh!"
  7. This is what I do not get lol. I can run Invul or Dark armors on Tanks or Brutes. But a pure DEF set?!? I believe B Z B, I just cannot fathom it lol. May have to alt into a new concept and try it....
  8. who said the farmer was seasoned? all indications are they were actually a little overwhelmed. very little data, but still...
  9. I have been known to be a bit...Snarky. I think what you had here was a "failure to communicate." as they say. It sounds like you got randomly invited to a Powerlevelling farm, blindly. This is considered a favor by higher level characters to new toons in Atlas and around the isles. The point of a PL farm is you do nothing. Sorry, thems the breaks. The reason is...well, you found that out the hard way. The leader of the group. (Who is busy trying to read the mobs, combine inspirations, rotate attacks, and keep their armor / health / damage pumped) did not know that you did not understand this. The leader could have been more patient. But, not everyone is as old and wise and un-snarky as m....nvm. I mean some of us just blurt out crap. Keep in mind the person was trying to help you and (maybe/maybe not) was struggling with handling the farm they were grinding. Some do it easy (Hi!) and some barely survive minute to minute. This can make them cranky. But the offer to PL Farm is very generous and something that Homecoming has a great community of farmers supporting (Thanks! i alt a lot, danged I need a 2nd account lol) So, sorry for the rough experience. Just turn it around a bit (like the leader who growled at you did not) and realize where the other person is coming from. Does not excuse their rudeness, but maybe helps you get a grip on the drama behind the...snark....
  10. my main is a dark dark brute. mean as hell. can tank the Psi Incarnate trials not breaking a sweat. Can tank anything else with a little management. Dark uses 2 offensive toggles to stun and fear opponents and is semi stealthed. Def>Res>Heal right? Basic Tanking. Dark Armor Hides (cant hit me you dont see me) and then Mezzes (you wont hit me I dont need def%) and then if it takes a beating Dark/Dark has the best heal in the game on a hair trigger. 11. I am trying to decide which is smoothest. Part of this is personal preference I know. Dark has many great benefits. At high recharge Dark/Invul is a very synergistic pairing. (I have one, and it is mean) I am wondering with the recent changes to EM how that compares. EM has less utility. The buildup is a standard instead of Dark's magic 30 sec trick. I am not sure (for standard play) Invul needs everything Dark brings. Most times Dark Consumption gets ignored or used as a ghetto AoE. Siphon Life is used, but the heal is rarely needed. Does just Bruting forward on a chain of ST work well? Or does the trade off of utility give up too much? Also, there is the enhancing. It is not difficicult (expensive but not difficult) to craft a nice high recharge Dark/Invul build. Are the build goals the same for EM/Invul, or slightly different? High recharge is chased on most high end builds, so does that naturally give Dark the edge as it is already benefitting from that so much? Here is my Dark/Invul build. I havent written up an E</Invul yet. Villain Plan by Mids' Reborn : Hero Designer 2.6.1.25 https://github.com/Crytilis/mids-reborn-hero-designer Click this DataLink to open the build! 12. I just levelled a Invul/SS Tanker. This thing kills....s l o w l y. I have the same build as a SS/Invul Brute and it kills faster. There are some power choice differences that go into that. (no taunt on Brute) and then building to Tankiness instead of damage. I build a Tank to Tank. I build a Brute to shrug off most damage and kill. If I was going to build an armored car I would start with the heaviest chassis I could get and add armor. If i was going to build a destructo wagon I would get a heavy car and armor it but also try to cram as much heavy weapons as I could get. That is the main difference between the two ATs for me. They do different jobs so I build them different ways. So even with the recent Tanker buff (nice) I still build the Tank for Tankiness. Why not a scrapper? Because Brutes can survive (almost) anything and deal very good damage. Giving that survivability up to deal very very good damage is not for me. Also, the uncontrollability of the crit mechanic is annoying.
  13. I'm pretty sure I am on your ignore list. Because I just started laughing during the first three rules.
  14. I recently started a Tanker and due to the great people running free farms constantly I now have a incarnated 50. Okay, the incarnating is 50+2 and a lot of work to go lol. I took my SS/Invul Brute and basically used 90% of that. But I think it is a bit of a poor fit. Any advice on how to squeeze it onto the AT better would be appreciated. 15. Alignment powers that you can pick. Like Patron powers. That would fix this permanently. Because the Villain Alignment power kicks aDom back into Dom mode. It always irks me that Brutes and Doms only get the full benefit of the power if they are true villains, but 90% of the game is Blueside.
  16. not sure, but i think we have to nerf Regen
  17. the in depth data on the old Red ToMax site really cleared up many of my misconceptions. very nice to see it back
  18. You find the sonic blaster annoying? I thought it was just me. What half deaf Dev who spent all their time listening to speed metal cranked to speaker breaking decibels designed that anyways?
  19. Incarnate Component - Paragon Wiki Archive
  20. Alpha Incarnate Components used in the Alpha Slot are acquired after unlocking the Alpha Slot from Mender Ramiel's story arc, by: Completion of Mender Ramiel's story arc (1 Incarnate Shard) Completion of the following Task Forces, Strike Forces, Trials, and Raids as a reward: Barracuda Strike Force (Dimensional Keystone) Dr. Kahn Task Force (Dimensional Keystone) Imperious Task Force (Ancient Nictus Fragment) Lord Recluse Strike Force (Essence of the Incarnate) Statesman's Task Force (Essence of the Incarnate) The Lady Grey Task Force (Hero 1 DNA Sample) Cathedral of Pain Trial (Penumbra of Rularuu) Hamidon Raid (4 Incarnate Shards) Conversion of 150 Vanguard Merits into one Gr'ai Matter Random drop of Incarnate Shard from any even-con or higher enemy, of which four to eight can be used to form a new Component. Because the drop roll is per enemy, per person, an enemy might drop a Shard for every member of the team, making it possible (but not very likely) that a single enemy could drop eight Shards. Note that Shards do not drop from enemies defeated in the streets of or story content of Dark Astoria. although in my opinion it is a waste of time. especially since you can grind the ouro arc for a random component every 20 min, rares and very rares possible
  21. Lot of questions. Good questions. To make money, avoid merit vendor. Not your friend. Use Reward Merits to buy Enhancement Converters. Learn to use the enhancement converters to craft low level cheap recipes and transform them into LOTG 7.%% globals, or anything of value. Sell those. Now that you have money buy attuned enhancers from the Auction. Always buy Attuned. EXCEPT Purples. They are naturally attuned. Buy those standard. Attuned enhancers level with you, and if you exemplar (reduce your level to do low level content) those bonuses go with you down to the minimum level of the enhancer sett -3. PvPs go to the floor. PvP enhancers are tricky. They have two st bonuses. The 2nd is for PvP maps only, the 1st is standard content PvE. I i/o my toons starting at level 10. But I know where I am going on my toons right from the start. Or have my Mids open and am building the thing while sitting in a farm lol. MiDs! Get MiDs. Available on these message boards. Download some good builds based on what you run. Look at those, play one or two if you can afford to build it. If you like Invulnerability Armor anything look for Hyperstrikes Invulnerability templates. Powers are blank, Armor is kitted out with enhancers based on AT. You can get a look under the hood as to the set bonuses he uses to create a solid base, without power set bonuses being in the way. Its a nice lesson plan. Almost any enhancer set is better than Single Origin enhancers. The bonuses just start to rock. Even if you cannot afford a full Winter IO PvP purple build there are a LOT of really strong builds set up with enhancers that cost 5-10 million a set TOPS. They may not be the very finest Porsche, but that VW will still scream. (VWs were designed by Dr. Porsche btw)
  22. Those are...unfortunate names for axes. Thanks all. I am going with a straight up tights wearing build, minimalist. This is the symbol I plopped on his chest. Very shrt backstory. He is a mutant, has no idea where he got his powers, or where he got his indestructible tights. With symbol 10. Just wanted to ask the crew if they had any idea of the meaning behind #10 in case I wanted to change it or write a deeper story. For now this is very good. Leaves it a mystery. Again, thank you all. oh, Tank, Invul/SS. Miraculously 50d after two evening gaming sessions through random AE farms. On my way to trials and Accolades. With an insanely Tanky build. Was 41 in a fire farm and started testing it. One of the farmers was like "WTF, how are you doing that?" lol. Invul. It is tough on SOs, with the right enhancers it is bulletproof. Except for Psi. I don't want to talk about that though. Thanks again.
  23. I love a maniacally difficult project. But you may be overthinking this. Especially on a Brute. I regularly (once a year?) take a Brute from 1-50 doing EVERY Redside contact, every story arc, every side mission. Stopping experience to do so. This "Levelling character" has access to far fewer enhancement slots than an exemplared character. Power is not even a vague issue. Okay, I do remember hunting Slag Golems at 20 on Sharkhead with a SS/Will Brute on live. ooof, I should have used temps now that I look back. My builds I keep (maybe 8?) are all purpled, winterized, PvP i/o, procs globals, pimp'd out builds. They laugh at any content when exemplared, even if I go help someone who has dialed up +4/x8 and cannot complete what they created. (has happened, very rare) I do eat more inspirations there. So, last point. Your inspiration tray. Does not go away when exemplared down. Gives you access to what any 10-30th level would think of as game changing amounts of power. Definitely chase the fun stuff. If this is what you find amusing then you are on the right track. But just pointing out you have a LOT of overhead clearance.
  24. Globals Set-Like Special IOs The first type of special IO is a "Global". A global grants a constant benefit like a Set Bonus does. In fact, a Global IO grants you a set bonus that requires only itself. Thus all the rules (still works in grayed-out powers, stops working if you exemplar more than 3 levels below the enhancements level, the "Law of Fives") for set bonuses also apply to Globals. So, for example, a level 20 Karma Knockback Protection Global slotted in a level 49 power will still work if the character is exemplared to level 17 and the level 49 power is greyed out. But Karma's Knockback Protection will stop working when exemplared to level 16 – more than three levels under the Special IO itself. If that level 20 Karma was put into Hover which was picked up at level 6, then the Karma would still stop working if exemplared to level 16, even though Hover is still working. There are two (currently, maybe more to come) Global PvP Special IOs that are excepted from the under-exemplaring rule. If it's a PvP Special IO, it will never turn off from exemplaring. Procs All the other Special IOs are called 'Procs.' Unlike the Globals, Procs depend on the power they are slotted in to be activated in order to work. If the power isn't activated, then no benefit from the Proc. Consequently, exemplaring lower than the level of the power means the power is greyed out and can't be used (even passive powers follow that rule), which means the Proc won't work. However, the upside of Procs is that if the power is active, the Proc always work, even if you exemplar way below the level of the Proc. Procs don't follow the -3 level rule that Globals and Set Bonuses do.
  25. actually it does not look like a lantern. I do like Mister Mass' suggestion about fissionable material.
