I avoid all the gimmicky sets. Combos, Momentum, etc. I did run a Kin Melee I liked, more for concept than anything. It became practically a ranged melee toon. short to medium range, but still. I tried war mace for a while. Then I noticed the animation was just the one arm moving up and down like a Christmas nutcracker soldier (which gives an idea for a holiday toon....) Which...leaves me with truly slim pickings for my beloved Brute Army. I am gobsmacked at the news they are doing ANYTHING for Energy Melee. Just an honest medium of the road fix, all I ask. i have run it as is out of lack of options, but at deep game it gives up AoE and power for....nothing, because it was gutted in an overenthusiastic nerf

Adding some arc to Dark Melee Shadow Maul has been a true blessing. I run DM a lot. I was decent at landing that narrow cone, but now I hardly do more than sidestep and get the position I want.

Here is my Dark/Dark. It is a damned BEAST in combat. I have it set up and running just like this, I am currently starting a second one as a badger. Will do the exact same build. (This one is soloing all Redside stories as I level) There is not a lot of room on a Dark/Dark for ANY Travel powers. This is less Travel than I give to any of my Brutes (I mostly run Brutes) since the days of no inherent fitness. This is what I visualized when I read the power. Then the reality hit like a brick.

When I first saw this I was like "Wowzer cool!" but never took it because I ran Brutes. Back in the day Brutes had to struggle to get stamina and fighting pool and travel powers were a post 30 luxury. then i ran a Dominator and took it. And it sucked. your short range 'travel tp' is situationally useful tactically and a true pain to cross zones, needing hover or a real smooth UI trigger finger to do well your long range zone tp is almost useless since you always pop to same location. Maybe, Maybe, if they let you choose a quadrant of destination map. but no, take it where it lands. and back to short range TP across zone looking like a drunken bumblebee

Having keybinds Cntrl+f1 etc linkable to certain bars Bar 1 button 1 etc. The current UI allows you to do this only to the bar currently in the 1 / 2 / 3 position no matter what number, change the bar and the entire power tray is gone. I use floating bars in the center of my screen in a custom shape, so being able to lock a hotkey to these powers would be great

I just came back to the City. Been away since March. Started one villain. A Dark Dark Brute. To solo every Redside Contact. I LOVe Redside, it is almost complete immersion. But, sigh, try to get a DFB team for badges and/or buffs. Try (rofl) to get a DiB team I solo, so Redside is okay for me usually. But I want to ToT....scan channels...wait....hope.... Whayt's a villain gotta do around here ta get some luv? Oh yeah. I know. The Golden Rollers license plate says it all "NOLOVE"

I have recently gotten bit by the CoH bug again. I used to play on Everlasting and Excelsior. I am mostly a loner, but I want to be on a very busy server due to long term badging goals. Also, 95% of my work is Redside. Preferably. The bug bit hard. i started a Dark/Dark Brute and am going to solo every contact Redside. I made it off Mercy! Yeah lol. Things dont rerally slog until Sharkhead with this typre project, and the long Nerva commutes, but I have done it before. Always twitchy about Efficiency Expert Pisser though. I know i will nail it, but to do months of grinding to miss a complete due to a weird anomaly? grinds teeth.... When (someday...) I finish Redsdide I will circle around to do badges Blue for Ouro and such. But will park Redside preferably, or possibly Rogue ...better options.... But for months I will be deep in the underbelly of our beloved city. Anyways, glad to be back. Appreciate the Feedback

I am crappy at hardware (hence the post) I have the Orbus set up as mirror keyboard keys, then keybind to those. I do that for WoW, and had it sweet setup for CoH but that is....gone lol. I have the 20 keys set up Ctrl+F1-10 and Alt F1-10 right now. I jury rigged the same keys to the Alt Trays 1 & 2 that rise above tray 1, then mirrored those on re-shaped floating trays because that is my end goal. (i see them as 4 rows of 5, and it is just a LOT easier for me. But I had the Orbus hotkeyed (using keyboard mapped to Orbus) to random trays 5 & 6 with no connection to home tray before. And none of my old alts work with that anymore.... Cant figure how to replicate it.

Under Options Keymapping there are 4 tray options. "Tray" ""Alt Tray" "Alt2 Tray" and Server Tray" "Tray" appears to be tray 1 when in the traditional spot. But if you move it things get weird. Can/will someone explain what these trays are and how they function? Thanks

I am getting back into the game. My keybinds no longer work and I cannot figure how they ever did! I want to float a few trays out to the center of my screen. Then I want to keybind a couple of them with hotkeys for My Razer Orbus 20 key pad. my orbus is set to 1-10 for 1st two rows. Cntrl F1-10 for 2nd two rows. I found a thread that talks about using a bind like so /bind then 1 "powexec tray 1 9" but no matter what config I try it is a dud. Any help would be great. I think I have one more solo every Redside arc in me. Never tried on a Dark/Dark Brute before 🙂

City of Heroes exists in a world where we will probably never see a major update. So, I suggest a greater use of the content that does exist. Another way to play more of the game. I suggest the ability to TF your solo character to a level of your choosing. And do any content in that level range. Yes, I know Ouro solves most of these issues. But it does not have all the odd storylines that mostly gather dust. I am a completionist. I have soloed every story arc Redside multiple times. I do love the entire run. Gritty, petty, strange, and fun. I have never successfully soloed all Blueside content. Two major factors, maybe three. !) There is a lot more of it. 2) It is 9in my opinion) not as well written as Redside 3) I do not appear to be much of a hero. If I was able to log onto a main at 50 and decide to spend a night doing X level story arcs, then go back to 50-ing Incarnate content, it would open up more gaming options. It looks (from a surface glance) as if all the coding exists for this. Just putting in an interface would be needed. On the surface it looks like that anyways. I know CoX code has more squirrels than Central Park. Anyways, that's my 2 cents on how to get even more mileage out of the old car.

Been taking a break from CoH. Have there been any new enhancers or modifications I should know about for SS/Invul since late March? Or are the old Hyperstrike builds I am using still optimal? Just back for a character concept I have developed a writing interest in. But I do like to stay current. Thanks.

I have made two previous threads with complaints about the baby following everyone the 1st disappeared without notice. I learned just now it was merged without telling me into oatch notes my second thread was just merged there i care nothing about talking about the patch notes i consider the unwanted unasked for and undesired kid following everyone a form of bullying for some Devs amusement and i consider burying the discussion of this issue censorship

And evidently the dismissal is temporary. this is indeed a form of bullying. Doing something to someone without their permission or approval because you think it us funny soecifically because they do not like it. i am not only logging out until it is fixed i am considering taking a longer break from the game. I was a us navy sailor at 17. I am a truck driver irl right now. Semi truck in heavy metro traffic. I “talk” like a truck driver. Really have to hang with just the rough crowd at church events lol when i see vile stuff i report it. There is a way to do that easily in WoW. I use that a lot sigh. One if the reasons i dont go there much i have not seen hardly anything that rises to that on the Homecoming. Servers. If anything my off color remarks tend to be about as bad as it gets. hopefully what you saw was just an anomaly and not a trend.

first, my complaint about the kid seems to have disappeared from forum. its early so maybe I missed it. second. I wont be gaming with a kid companion. I don't know hat sending kid to its room for a short time means. if its anything less than the rest of my gaming session I have zero interst. your kid. you keep it. none of my characters have a child following them staying logged out until this stupid idea "err...hilarious joke?" goes away. its funny though. do more each week add another stupid thing following our characters around. try to pick creepy like kids have fun with it you have the power

Those numbers are a relative guide at best. They do not even truly apply to every base build in the Archetype pre working on it with all the toys in the game. For instance Ice Blaster would not really fit Blasters graph. It has less damage and more control than those bars indicate. Once you get into building a character with Invention Sets, in game buff from P2W vendor, base buff machines, Incarnate Powers, Accolade Buffs, and above all talent the numbers are almost meaningless. For instance I was just in a discussion with someone who has soloed every Task Force except one with a Sentinel. I believe them. But I have difficulty getting a Sentinel to do anything truly effective. The truth behind their statement drives a stake through the heart of those bar graphs and plants it in a coffin. Sentinels are believed by many to be nearly impossible to power game with. (okay, by me anyways) So talent has a lot to do with going beyond design. Having said all that it is a good general look at what a character can do, graphically. Brutes do high damage and have high survival. Blasters do very high damage and nit much else. Unless you have talent. Then you can make them survivable and do magic with one.

I have asked in game and been told there is no way to remove it. it really creeps me out and I been working a lot, so my gaming time is precious if there is no way to get rid of it I will be going to WoW for a while. any ideas?

For those who want things tougher. Everytime you get a level where you get a new power hit your big toe with a hammer for every incarnate power hit both big toes. Everytime you tier 4 hit the same toe twice there. Content just got tougher. And it affected no one elses gaming experience unless you are on a voice server because your SG mates might hear crying
