  1. If I'm not missing my guess, that's from Panacea, which is a magical cure-all medicine that could fix anything up to and sometimes including death. So a fancy potion bottle is probably right. also I know what this is: It's a pair of handcuffs. But I'm also pretty sure that because it's from the 'Unbreakable Constraint' set it's a reference to that 'You can't break those cuffs.' video from a bunch of years back.
  2. I actually went and grabbed the arc just now, and it is the other thing. Though her description does say that it's 'amazing' that she's using 'such a self-deprecating name'.
  3. Wait, it's Digiwrench? Oh no, I've persistently been mis-reading it as... something else.
  4. If an inherent is the only thing it's bringing to the table, should the Sentinel be marketing itself with this team support gimmick?
  5. My sentinel started feeling better once I picked up Boxing/Kick/Cross Punch. I think it's because it nudged them into the same sort of arena my Bane Spider lives in, as this mostly melee (but has a ranged attack chain) hybrid that has some team support utility. It's not 1/1, since the Bane Spider is mostly melee with a bit of range and the sentinel is the opposite, but it's the same general zone. The comparison ain't flattering, sadly. The inherent doesn't quite do enough for the team compared to a Bane's leadership auras, and I don't get the same feeling of power, wading through mobs and laying waste as the bane does.
  6. I like Renaming it to invsibility, so you have Invisibility and Grant Invisibility, and then Infiltration as the third, different power.
  7. This looks really good. Sorcery has gone from underwhelming to a legitimately useful power pool. The origin pools have been kind of lacking, IMO, so seeing Sorcery blossom like this makes me really happy.
  8. Hmmm, the barbarian skirt and talon wraps are making the gears turn again. As does the robe top... And yeah, I do two versions of this combo, one with the big fiery sigil and bioplasmic aura, one without, for 'powered up!' moments. It's a good pick.
  9. Do robots count
  10. So this is my current look for Kiluaea, a Hawaiian rookie hero and Earth/Fire Dominator with lava theme. I'm just increasingly not sure I'm feeling a lot of elements, and now that she's level 50 I find myself avoiding her original costume. I feel like the abundance of leather and gold maybe isn't right for getting the idea of 'volcano shaman' across. I like the extremely long dark hair, but I think she needs a forehead object of some sort to break up all that forehead space, be it a set of goggles, or a tiara or headband. I've been messing with the barbarian headband and the Resistance goggles. I feel like I'm conceptually married to the Cybertech top and the glowing orange marks on her skin. I like the combination of carnie belt and Talons skirt, but I worry that the orange is overpowering and going to turn her into a traffic cone. I've just been staring at it so long I don't even know what to think anymore. I'm totally stuck, can anyone offer suggestions into making her a proper island-girl heroine?
  11. I like RPing bartender at the D sometimes, and I sometimes threaten to spank characters that put their dirty dirty feet on the bar counter. Should I stop this?
  12. Ooooh, those are neat looking changes. I was just thinking about a character who could take Bolt and Enflame. Getting able to tag a foe for INCINERATION and letting the dot burn them sounds like it it'd be good.
  13. It shouldn't be different, no.
  14. I just hit 100 million on my farm character for the first time. Most of my other alts are probably sitting on a million or less each
  15. Yep. I just didn't want to turn into a space crab (and take the power, and re-toggle all my humanform armors, and slot all the crab attacks....) for when I got mezzed. Hence, the advice of 'don't play warshades as humanform or human/squid biform.' Warshades are weird and not really the topic here.
  16. As I said, I got a lot of warshade-specific advice before we got down to 'Just take Rune of Protection, I guess'. It was "the last option on the list for a warshade". And this isn't a topic about warshades, so I'll try not to get off track. But the problem was that it was the last argument: "There's mez protect in this power pool, go take that if you want it. We don't need to discuss if warshades need native mez protection or not, because this option exists."
  17. Essentially it's that I agree with Powerhouse: I feel like the fact that people could say "Just take RoP" was a roadblock in the discussion. I mentioned that I was having trouble leveling my warshade, particularly mezzes knocking off my Inky Aspect, so that the minions would un-stun and beat me up. Aside from the warshade specific answers (Don't play Humanform or Squid/Human biform, get powerleveled to 50 so you can use Clarion), I got "Just take ROP". For theme reasons, I didn't want to have giant flashy magical runes swirling around my alien hybrid. But that was where the mez protect was, so I got told 'Just take RoP'. I don't think the primary source of Mez Protection as a pool power in the game should be in Sorcery, for theme reasons, for it being the only real source of it from a pool, for it requiring you to take some pretty 'meh' powers to get to. So, in direct answer to your question: Yes, I think that the Runes nerf needed to happen otherwise it was going to sit there and block discussions about how characters should get mez resist, and how mez should even work in the game. I think that it's at least a start to a discussion about where to go from here, and it did require the Runes nerf to happen first.
  18. Yeah, I can understand this. I hated the lack of mez protection on my warshade. "Just take Rune of Protection" was the end of the conversation. He's not a wizard though, and I don't wanna.
  19. Also, something I just found in game: The Envoy of Shadows arc starts with the Warriors stealing a demonic tome from the Circle of Thorns, and accidentally unleashing something they can't control. Warriors are not great mages; and they DO canonically loot stuff from the CoT.
  20. I remember reading about a custom archetype, the Synergist, I think it was? Dominator Assault primary, secondary was a mix of supports/buffs, but the first power in the secondary was the T3 pet summoning power. The intent (I think) was to wade into the fight alongside your bash buddy, I thought the idea was *really cool*, It's the first time I've seen a new post-shutdown archetype that got my brain bubbling with possibilities.
  21. Let me replace Jack Frost with a Winter Horde snowman.
  22. I'm considering backburner-ing my Warshade on the grounds that I'm not having fun playing him, but I do really like the costumes and backstory, so I might recycle them into a dark something. Maybe a brute? 1) How is dark/dark on a brute? 2) Can you color Dark to get that kind of ominous purple nictus glow?
  23. As far as I'm aware this is impossible, but I'd like to be proven wrong.
  24. This feels weird, but I don't necessarily dislike it? Technically Fighting exists but doesn't invalidate Martial Arts or Street Justice or Super Strength, so having a minor 'I GOT A GUN' power pool shouldn't shatter the fabric of reality or anything. What I'd do is look at the pre-existing Force of Will pool for a starting place: Swap out [Project Will] for [Slug], [Wall of Force] for [Buckshot], and [Weaken Resolve] for a [Pummel] (from the Soldiers of Arachnos Set) variant. To replace Unleash Potential, I'd look at Medicine's [Field Medic] power, and start thinking of a variant: Something that gives a minor boost to Slug and Buckshot just for owning it, and can be clicked for something (A recharge boost for the two gun powers, so you can go on a brief shooting rampage?) Not sure what the last power would be, though. Nothing seems quite fitting. Alternatively, putting Burst and Heavy Burst instead of Slug and Buckshot gives you a rapid-firing weapon instead of a shotgun. A major problem that comes to mind is this gives you just one more way to bump your head up against the maximum number of weapon props a character can have, which Is (I think) 3, getting more bugs the game and makes one of your weapons disappear.
