Demons (along with Necro and, I presume, Thugs) really benefit from closely controlling pet placement. GoTo commands are the shizzle.

Couldn’t have said it better. I feel the same way about Necro. The shit-talking Lich was an eye opener back on Live, and has been something that brings the same tingle of pleasure still to this day. On discovery of Homecoming, a number of masterminds were the first thing I made, including my remaking my main from the original game. The most recent changes here (to Necro, Ninja, Bots, Mercs) have engendered a lot of confidence in this development team. Excited to see (and hopeful) for what comes next. That said, I’ve never made a Thug MM. Ever. Guess I better get on that!

How does this categorize as a nerf? Sprint is .292 end/sec Super speed is .455 end/sec The result of the change is a free power pick in exchange for the purchase of a stealth IO. Also less endurance for less runspeed. Back on Live, this was a common way (especially before inherent Fitness) of gaining full stealth with Shadow Fall and similar powers. @biostem’s suggestion works too, with the caveat that Combat Jumping needs to be turned off with escorts (which has been true for all stealth since time immemorial). Are you suggesting you have Super Speed active with Sprint? That’s your endurance problem right there…

A Short(-ish) Guide to U.S. Copyright and Trademark Law

What, no video? How am I supposed to get my CLE credits?!?! -
How many merits is *this* ATO?!?! Asking for … um… an alt.

Ain’t that the truth. But I love my Darkx3 undergod (err… underdog) blaster. Who am I kidding? I love *all* my Darkx3 characters! For the Corruptor, Teleport Other has been a real game changer in difficult encounters. Pulling defeated teammates into the scrum before firing off Howling Twilight for an overpowered rez. Divine. Combat Teleport for firing off Soul Drain and Blackstar? Yum. And otherwise has all the tools to handle just about any situation imaginable. It’s just so much easier to build this beast than on Love it’s ridiculous.

Ice control received some recent improves in QOL (offensive toggle suppression) and functioning (Cold Snap - much more interesting, Ice Parch taking damage sets, changes as to what is affected by domination all for example). And as @Spaghetti Betty said, Cold Domination has many, many tools. Would happily an ice/cold controller or ice/ice dominator.

Wouldn’t say no to this!

This. It’s what kept me in the game in the first place and what keeps me coming back. Plus, “bad” choices + inept teammates * lack of focus and all the other items identified in-thread = hardmode! Seriously, I don’t team unless ready for everything going pear-shaped. Or unless @Neiska is multiboxing some sick bots. THAT’s still a highlight having seen. Moreover, I’m playing this game to have fun. If an activity ceases to be enjoyable, I politely let the team know I’ve reached my capacity to process whatever is going on (and don’t point fingers - it’s me not you!) and drop group at a point when it least disrupts everyone else, as possible. Help channel is for helping, or having a discussion in team chat when (and only when) another player brings it up. Otherwise, you do you.

Nemesis all the way. It legit feels like an invasion. The dialogue always cracks me up. I also have a soft spot for Scrapyard (bough not the same type of event I suppose). While the union busting undertones make me twitch a bit, I dig the mechanics of how it gets triggered along with the ad hoc nature of redside dropping their lackey ways to hop on a team.

Bathory “Call From the Grave”

Sign me up for “Leave Earth Control alone”. Most control of any of the control sets, providing an option for nearly everything. And Rocky is was Rocky does. And what he does is limited to ST badassery and taunting. He’s a good little fella!

Differentiate redside and blueside DFBs
Nyghtmaire replied to Mjolnerd's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I like the proposal in theory and think the flavor of opponent changes is good. Were separate badges given for Redside DFB defeats (mirroring current iteration) as proposed, that may be a sufficient carrot for some to promote running both. -
Here are a couple threads: Demons vs. Bots vs. Thugs - all are awesome but each builds very differently. All the primaries work well with /storm. As to softcapping range, whatever floats your boat. I don’t think it’s worth the slot/build tax. Recharge and endurance management typically rank higher on the priority list.

/cleartray is a GD revelation. Thanks!

Officially Unofficial Weekly Discussion #10: Alt-itis
Nyghtmaire replied to SeraphimKensai's topic in General Discussion
I keep seeing references to stripping*. At what point do you pull the plug on a 50 and redistribute IOs and other goodies? Only done it once but now seriously regret it (for a WM/Willpower brute). *Most stripping on Everlasting starts in Pocket D and doesn’t involve market tradeable IOs. -
@Nemu speaks the truth. Those blaster tips saved me time, aggravation, and even a bit of my liver. It got me to actually enjoy a blaster for the first time in my life and, oddly enough, make it as close to a main as I ever have. (thanks, Nemu! You’re like a prophet for the AT) Stressing the idea of playing what combinations you like or find the most compelling. I have a relatively low damage Sonic/Martial/Soul (stun stacking and KD city) that shouldn’t work well but is so much fun to play. And it’s all because of lots of jousting, target selection, and a healthy dose of combat teleport/Burst of Speed abuse. BAMF’ing 3-4 times per encounter is hilarious.

Officially Unofficial Weekly Discussion #10: Alt-itis
Nyghtmaire replied to SeraphimKensai's topic in General Discussion
22 “Nyght*****” characters so far - ooof I need to update my sig but I mainly post from my phone - 13 of whom are at 50. 4 other 50s along with 8 other random experiments that have so far survived regular and extreme deletions. I don’t specifically park at certain levels, but I like having a range of levels for various characters with which to play. I have deleted every character made based purely on a power set pairing. I have learned that I *need* a costume/story/background hook to have any interest. That usually results in a bunch a non-optimal power pairs (such as a favorite controller - earth/sonic/leviathan. Wow is that a rough combination). -
You’re a pancaking voyeur!!!!

What about those of us who are merely often drunk, batshit nuts, yet somehow have a vague memory of what’s supposed to be going on deep in the recesses of a rapidly aging meatsack mind, but reads team chat avidly? Asking for a friend…

Alternatively, you could rely on the stealth from Shadow Fall combined with a stealth IO in Sprint to get full stealth. This would allow you to grab hasten.

Where's my Super Pack: Lords of Winter Sale?
Nyghtmaire replied to BlackSpectre's topic in General Discussion
No argument with the first sentence. As to the second, I still remember the crazy AH on live. Here is soooooo much better that every character gets an IO build of some sort. It might not be a purpled out warshade of a build, but it’s very doable with a day of playing at 50 to get something far more efficient and powerful than was available on Live. -
I started in CoV after bodyguard was added to masterminds (forgetting the issue and not inclined to look it up). My strongest memory is taking the ferry to St. Marital instead of Port Oakes as a wee Necro/dark (on Justice) and immediately was smushed by some purple crab spiders. And then trying to run from the hospital back to the ferry. And trying again. And again. My first debt!! The grind did get intense in the late 30s. But there was a pretty fair number of small random groups to make it more lucrative for the villainy (err… enjoyable). Really appreciated 3-5 person teams.

Oof - sorry but the OP’s inquiry was answered. Talk about shooting the messenger. BTW, OP did not ask for a build… Happy New Year’s everyone and beautiful wishes that this thread stays here into perpetuity. 🎇🎆🎉🎇🎆 Edit: (were I more of a brute player) I recommend a Katana/Rad for the “overpowered” … at least of the 3 I played! This thread has certainly made me curious about bio though.
