Great breakdown, @oedipus_tex. This is a real resource for anyone looking to break into Doms and not kill their influence or feel like they need to overcommit to a build. Yes, still pricey but not exorbitantly so. Also, having a path to mid-level permadom allows a player to experience the playstyle well before level 50. Great stuff!

Both powers are incredible and centerpieces of the secondary. DN contains a -dam component (which is almost like resistance for you and your pets) and shouldn’t be skipped (like @Force Redux suggests), and - as @TygerDarkstormindicated - HT does amazing things. Rezzing teammates is a nice secondary effect. I cast it almost on cool down, especially solo.

I’m in the same boat as @5099y_74c05 here on the Earth/Sonic train, especially on chasing global recharge. The thing that would have made shy away from Mind is the lack of pets to benefit from the Sonic shields. Buuuut... this also means you can avoid almost ALL the powers in Sonic other than the dispersion shield, the mandatory tier 1 pick, and maybe liquify. That leaves a lot of build flexibility to do some crazy stuff.

In addition, Flash arrow’s ToHit debuff is also unresistable, which means it is not affected by an AV’s purple patch (though not stackable). So equivalent to ~5% defense to you and your pets, depending on slotting.

What’s the school project?

I would guess Alpha - Intuition Radial (for damage, ToHit debuffs, and a little hold). Musculature radial does similar things, depending on what you want to accentuate. For judgement/interface/lore, pick to taste and preference. Destiny would be barrier for panic-mode in most instance, clarion a not-bad second for mez protection, or Ageless radial for debuff protection (followed by recharge and an endurance fill). Rebirth is redundant for this secondary, and the tier 2 demon has a heal too. Hybrid - depends on how you play. Max damage (and a joy of resummoning) leads to assault radial. Support with the pet boost is a solid all-around pick. Melee if you’re tankerminding and also want some mez protection.

While not entirely sure, this sounds like an AOE attack. If a MM is in bodyguard mode, the pets take AOE Damage directly AND an unresistable share from BG. This means that a pet’s resistance will not reduce BG damage. Edit: also, levels 18-21 are the worst levels for a MM. 22- SO levels of enhancement 24- 2nd tier 2 pet 26- tier 3 pet 32- final upgrade

@lobster I missed this when you first posted it, so I’m glad you linked to it this week in the MM subforum. Excellent ideas thrown out and great discussion. I would suggest that all pools have some sort of shield (ahem... heat mastery?!? Where’s the fire shield? Drop fire bolt, please.).

As a contrary opinion, while Scorpion Shield is a great option it’s not the only path. Achieving 60% resistance is functionally 90% resistance when in bodyguard mode. At 75% resistance, functional resistance = 93.75, better than a tanker. So, it depends on the primary/secondary combination. And since damage can continue (via pets) even when mezzed, the impact of any mez is less critical. But bonfire? That’s stupid levels of amazing... (And if Heat Mastery has a resistance shield, there would be a clear winner winner 🐔 dinner)
