Dual Pistols Animations

Recommended Posts

I know this is a long shot, but new animations for Dual Pistols would be nice. The current ones for Empty Clips and Piercing Rounds are awful. For Empty Clips, fanning is the obvious choice. Don't know why "arm seizure" was chosen for that instead. For Piercing Rounds, anything. Anything is better than what there is now.

Put me down as another player who definitely wants to see some different animations.  I don't mind if there's a lot of "dead air" hang time to pad out the animation times, I'd just really appreciate some animations for this set which are a -bit- more realistic.

opposite camp here. I like the animations, just want them sped up a bit OR damage to be brought up to compensate for longer animations.

Its easy to criticize a suggestion but can you suggest an alternative?

DP has the same visual issue as Martial Arts - the animations were designed by someone who has no fucking idea how guns (or CQC, for MA) actually work.  Even gun kata doesn't explain some of that.

Clearly, you're not an Equilibrium fan 😋

The animations are awesome

Look, people wanted Dual Pistols added to the game because they thought Equilibrium was so cool. So naturally the set looks like something from Equilibrium. They gave us what we wanted!

They gave some players what they wanted, yes.  A lot of us are still waiting for a more lowkey approach.  Maybe a little John Wick-style efficiency.  Maybe some Dirty Harry/Man With No Man.

We're not here to take away anyone's Gun Fu.  We just want some long-desired options to finally make their appearance.  And since there are many pistol animations already in the game, it's hopefully low-hanging fruit overall.

I don't recall anyone from Equilibrium blind-firing while waving his arms around like a drugged-out monkey, which is what some of the DP attacks look like.  There are plenty of cool-looking ways to aim a gun, but that requires actually aiming.

So, what's your problem with Suppressive Fire, Executioner's Shot, Dual Wield and Pistols?  Those are pretty standard, without going straight "I'm just stand here and do the same animation over and over for every attack, but stand in place for longer periods of time, depending on the attack"

I think you may need to rewatch the movie...

Piercing Rounds is the one that hits "This animation is absurd" level for me. I think it makes my character look like a showboating nitwit rather than a firearms master. It simply crosses the line from stylish to clownish, IMO. An animation where you go through the motion to load a special piercing round before opening fire might appeal more.

Empty Clips is borderline for me. It isn't good, but it doesn't hit the "I'd rather avoid this power so I don't have to watch this" level that Piercing Rounds does. I'd probably use an animation that felt more controlled if it were available though.

Executioner's Shot hits the right note for me. It's got that right amount of flair without turning the power into a sideshow routine.

No one is saying remove the current animations. So even if you like the current ones, having at least 1 alt animation set for every set seems like something all players should be able to side with.

We really just need a side arm pool with 5 good single pistol attacks. So that those who want a sidearm for short to medium range can have it no matter what super power themes we want via primary/2ndary.

Aiming? WTF is aiming? I use a mixture of telekinesis to guide my rounds and psychic ability to know where my target will moving to so I just have to fire where they will be going or at least in that general direction.

Then there are the tech types with self guiding smart bullets. Aiming is what non hero cops and soldiers who do not rate at the same level of ability as Meta's rate. Aiming is for those detectives we help out.

How do you simultaneously fan two pistols at once?

At least they avoided giving us anime styled Grenadier absurd fan service-y reloading of revolvers ...

I thought gunslingers from malta were cool and that's why I wanted dual pistols and as much as I do like the gun fighter animations I'd also rather have the animations gunslingers use. single shot, dual shot and 6shot and the 1 freeze shot are the animations they currently have.
