There is of course a Midnighters in Steel, next to the University at the usual spot. 

Croatoa University has one as well.

Redside I only know and use the one in Cap.

 

And, just for the record, the Midnight Mansion in Night Ward is where you go for the fast badge, but for some unknown reason that one does not have a Cimerora Portal 😑

Ah, OK then! I thought I have entered through there before, but years ago. Cap is also the only one I know of in a villain zone. I think it's the only zone with a university area.

Right, the mansion in Night Ward is good for the "fast badge" which means "instant entry" 😄

I thought the one in Steel was only for the Montague Castanella missions! I know it's a Midnighter's Club, but when I tried to go through to Cimerora from there on Friday for an ITF, it didn't have the portal. Or, at least, I couldn't find it. And, I had no clue about the one through Croatoa...or maybe I slightly remember back from live? I seriously thought the only way was through Founders Falls! I'll have to investigate again the next time I'm in game 😄 Thanks, @Bananiac!

 

BTW, I know I'm not knowledgeable on the game. I think I'll stop answering questions 😄 I played for 5 years on live; however, my friends never talked about procs, IO's, etc. and the best way to play each style. Back then, I mostly played support AT's because that's what we needed in our Super Group, and it's what I've loved to play. However, as we know, most toons are so built out now that support toons are not as needed.

 

I wanted to branch out to other types of toons, and  I've relied on other people's builds for the longest time because I don't know the best builds for AT's I've never played before. I learn from them when I play and tweak based on what I like/don't like. For example, I used to put 3 spots in Heal and 4 in Stamina to deal with health and end issues, I got made fun of in the game (Help channel) because I asked about the best IO's to put in for maximum health/end. I'm just here to have fun, and may be wrong about a lot of things! I have been trying to learn more; however, numbers are really not my thing.

Trixie, I understand your need for the qualifiers, but I assure you there is no need! It is regrettable that conflict arises sometimes on various topics, but the main point is that you arrange these events based on known information. And that's really all that matters. Nobody here is an "expert" in a professional sense. We are all guided by prior experience and ideas we learn about from others. It's all good! You are doing great as our event leader! We wouldn't be here without you. 😍

When I started to play again 3 years ago, all I knew was the basic Hero and Villain ATs and what standard IOs did for you. I never had a toon go beyond Lvl 30 at that time, hardly knew any of the higher level zones, not to mention any of the "high end features" :).

 

I was a Pro in the Character Creator, though! All my costume slots were in use and I did a living on building a toon, running it to level 6 or 8 or 13, then going back, deleting an old toon and creating another new one 😄 

 

There were really only 3 that made it beyond that and would never get deleted: Lilac, Dark Anaesthetist and Bananiac. 2 Controllers btw, with Bananiac being a Spines Scrapper back then (resurrected as a Controller now, as he rightfully should have been!).

 

This is why I am so happy to run with you guys, because I learned so much about this game just playing. While at the same time having an excuse to come up with new concepts, characters or costumes of course. And I feel like I have been getting better in understanding many of the more complex systems in this game now, to a point where I can start explaining things to some of the more casual players being around.

 

The forums are a rich source for information, and I took my time over the last 3 years to read up guides on Inventions, The Market, Incarnates, Accolades, Travel, Combat, and other ATs outside of Controllers 😎 Helped me appreciate even more all the great features this game has. And many of them are not obvious or self-explanatory, for sure!

 

Still a lot left to learn, but no rush in doing so. I am quite happy with where we all are at this moment.

I really love coming up with themes, and also using ones that you guys come up with too. Speaking of, does anyone have anything they're dying to do? I know I need to put together something for May soon! How is it almost May?

I am thinking we could only have 12 slots per server back then? I remember painstakingly deleting characters to make more room. It's one of the reasons that Rich and I used 4 servers. We had villains on Victory and Triumph, while our hero servers were Champion and...... er, uh.... drawing a blank right now. Guardian maybe.

Hell if I know! Crazy how fast time goes the older we get. I'll check my list and let you know if there's anything I have an idea about. Actually there's a mission that I get stuck on for every character, so I have a few that can't solo it. Would love some help! I think the contact is Number Six. If there's any interest in helping me with those, I'll look it up and provide more info.

As others said before, I really appreciate that you're organizing these.  To me, what matters is that we're having fun - not that we're "experts."  And, it's fun to be able to do it casually without any of the baggage of having to be bleeding-edge or speedy.  That said, feel free to post builds you're working on; I like tinkering with builds, and although I am by no means the best builder or min-max'er, I can always lend some help with yours.

Sorry for the belated reply!  Yup, I deleted mine a while back.  Like you, I found it to have an annoying end. cost problem.  And I wasn't exactly a fan of the needing to get into melee to make use of my armor set nor the sort of watered-down Dark Regen.  But I was also on SOs only, so I can see how set bonuses would buoy the set.

That's funny: I ran mostly Redside with alts. on Triumph and Victory too.  Maybe we teamed a few times on Live back then?

That's a neat one.  But, I'd really love to be able to bring either my newly minted incarnate (Demon/Pain MM) or my DB/Nin. Stalker who needs the badge.  Not sure either would fit though.

Love the Shadow Shard TFs.  (Even Dr. Q, though that takes more planning.)  I'll bring my main -- Fraulein Mental - Mind/Kin CTRL.

 

I took it as something vaguely 'formal' (as in "What would you wear to the opera?"), for which I like the bolero/skirt combo, though I really wish there were good long skirts/gowns.  But I imagine one could interpret as a character in an opera as well.

Wow! Well surely we must've at some point! I have tens of thousands of screenshots that I could do a search for character names. The retail version of the game automatically filled in all your teammates' names as a file attribute (how I wish HC had done that!), so it's easy enough to search the file properties for character names.

Hmm, most of my characters got remade on HC and might be familiar faces to Theme Team.  "Animus Raptus" "Umbrifer" "Ussiomnia" "Legatus Lanius" and "Atrae Noctrae" (or maybe "Noctrae Atrae"?) were all likely suspects for characters on those servers.  I had several other alts. but they never got leveled very far so I'm not sure how much I played them.
