I'm not really sure how helpful of a clarification that is.  Any political content could be considered controversial; it just depends on who you ask.  It might be easier and more straightforward to ban all real-world political content to save time and headaches.

While I agree with the problem you pointed out, I don't agree with that solution, given that pretty much everything either is or can very easily be made political even by accident. Plus, as other posts further down have mentioned, there's a lot of dispute on what counts as "real-world political content". To some, even something as simple as having an openly queer character could be "real-world political content".

I'd hope that choosing GMs with sound judgement would do a lot to ameliorate the concerns here -- blanket bans don't really work for something like this, but as-needed applications of "we're putting a moratorium on this topic in public chat before it gets any more out of control" would be a good starting point.

I've always considered the Code of Conduct as follows:

I've been warned, if I violate the rules even unintentionally I need to live with the consequences. If I violate the rules a second time, I should not expect an opportunity to do it a third time.

 

Other topics:

It is awesome that there is a Dev's Choice for player created content. It shines a spotlight on an amazing tool we have access to and it's uses beyond that-which-shall-not-be-named.

 

Becoming a Game Master - just kidding...

Right, sure. You have the logs of what happened that night. You can easily see them. Engaging in behaviour with them like what? It has to go so far as someone doing some messed up erp with them before you can do something? Already claiming they can get wasted and laid isn't already "behaviour"? This is why you won't get anywhere with NCSOFT. You'll get #metoo'd out of the water.

 

To compound on that. You know about Joker's. You know and have dealt with reports regarding underage characters working there. You have had people who went and saw the explicit material and told them to take it out. And it's all back. With underaged people working there. You know what you're letting through.

 

Also. Please point me to every comic book that has had a character go for the sixteen year old and told them they were old enough to get wasted and laid. Please. I'd love to see all of those comics. Can't believe your staff would use that excuse as a cop out.

Concerning behaviour needs to be reported with dates, times, and names - or we simply won't know it's happening. Again, we don't comment on specific cases, but we absolutely do investigate and take the necessary actions when things are actually reported. I know this because I can actually see the tickets coming in and the investigations / actions that follow. Additionally, you should also never feel bad about reporting something multiple times if it continues or is repeated at a later date. The more information you can give us, the better.

 

This isn't necessarily a dig at you not reporting (I won't publicly comment on if you have or haven't), just in general it's not at all helpful to claim on the forums or on Discord that stuff happened at some point. This isn't an uncommon claim that's made, and it's incredibly counterproductive not only due to the lack of detail that's usually included (meaning we can't really investigate anything), but it also creates this false narrative that reports aren't investigated, which may discourage players from reporting things in the future.

Maybe I don't have the whoLe picture but isnt a teenager "talking big" a normal thing?   Just because they talk the talk doesn't mean they actually walk the walk.   Sounds like the player is just roleplaying a normal teen based on this.

Honestly, I don't have any real issue with any of the CoC then, from a personal aspect in general, as long as GMs don't start policing what's on Discords or our Radio Stations at clubs, which I assume is out of the question anyway, I'm all cool with y'all.

We explicitly don't deal with anything that's not in-game or on our official Discord / forum.

 

We do sometimes get reports of issues from 3rd party Discord servers, but these are not only outside of our purview, we also have no way of verifying anything. These reports are, obviously, not actioned.

Hello there I am the creator and one of the owners of Joker's Wild. Firstly I would like to say that the issue with the 18+ advertising was addressed and resolved by the GM's involved and myself. Secondly I am unsure why people think that the club has underage people or explicit material there, i have had several conversations with several GM's to ensure we are on board with all rules and conduct codes. And yes I am well aware of some people who just hate the club and that is fine i have never forced it upon everyone, like the other clubs and bars we are there for the people who want to come.
