Snipe information

Does anyone have data on the various snipes?

 

In particular, I am looking for:

 

~ Animation times (regular or Arcanatime) of shortened snipes.

~ Damage at level 50 of combat snipes.

~ How much ToHit adds. Is the damage increase directly translated? ie. does 20% ToHit now add 20% damage, or is there a conversion ratio?

 

I have searched the forums but can't find actual numbers, and the regular long snipe times obscure the numbers.

My understanding is that if the normal cast time is 4.33 seconds and the interrupt time is 3.0 seconds, the fast snipe time would be 1.33 seconds. Don't know if this is consistent across all sets, but looking at Moonbeam, the fast snipe damage is 172.7 vs. 281.5 for regular snipe. You need +22% tohit for fast snipe. I don't believe tohit adds any damage.

 

Numbers should be in Mid's.

Your information on the tohit is out of date.  

 

Powers: Snipes

  • General Changes
    • ToHit is no longer required to achieve fast-snipe. Now, combat status determines if snipes are fast or slow, and ToHit buffs increase how much damage fast-snipe inflicts.
    • The snipe will be fast if you have attacked or been attacked in the last 8 seconds; this is the same time as Stalker's Hide.
    • Note that PvP scale is based only around the PvP damage formula. ToHit buffs and debuffs do not change quick snipe damage in PvP.
    • The following fast snipe animations have been synced with their FX, no cast time changes: Moonbeam, Zapp, Sniper Blast, Proton Volley (they all remain at their original 1.33 second duration.)
    • Added a new PVP IO Snipe set "Experienced Marksman"; includes proc that will always turn your Snipes into the fast version.
  • Blaster/Defender/Corruptor Snipes
    • 12 second recharge and 14.352 end cost.
    • Base 2.28 scale damage in their "quick" form, down from 2.76 scale.
    • Every point of ToHit buffing the player has will increase or decrease this damage, up to a cap of 2.76 scale damage with +22% ToHit buff.
    • Slow form will do 4.5 scale damage.
  • Dominator Snipes
    • 20 second recharge and 18.512 end cost.
    • Base 2.67 scale damage in their "quick" form, down from 3.56 scale.
    • Every point of ToHit buffing the player has will increase or decrease this damage, up to a cap of 3.56 scale damage with +22% ToHit buff.
    • Slow form will do 4.5 scale damage.
  • Epic Snipes
    • Will now have a base 1.75 scale damage in their quick form.
    • Every point of ToHit buffing the player has will increase or decrease this damage, up to a cap of 2.3 scale damage with +22% ToHit buff.
    • Slow form will do 3.56 scale damage
    • Slow form crits will do 3.56 + 1.78 scale damage.
    • Scrappers should now properly crit 10% of the time, instead of using Stalker requirements.

This is what I came up with. I did not include interrupt time, but that usually can be inferred by looking at the difference between the Fast Snipe cast time and the Slow Snipe cast time (it's not always correct doing it this way, but it's good enough). For quick snipes I show their base damage as well as their maximum damage. *Edit: Trimmed some fat off the table and cleaned up formatting*

We need to run Bopper through some of those cloning operations in the Rogue Isles. I'm sure out of 20+ versions, some have to be working fine. Granted, some may come out looking like zombies or Lost Anchorites, but that's a price that we're willing to have them pay.

It'll be awhile before I can do another update, so you're safe for now. What I produced today was all manual. I happened to be working on updating the Mids database with corrected sniper info so I knew the numbers off hand, so I quickly copy and pasted from my spreadsheet and manually added the extra damage info.

Sorry to necro this, but it seems to have all the info I’m looking for, rather than starting a brand new thread. Good stuff in here! @Bopper 😍

 

Insta-snipes were not a thing when I played on live. At the time, snipes were pretty polarizing—you either loved them or hated them. The analyses on them were a bit more subjective and highly contingent on play style, solo v teaming, etc. I personally didn’t care for them at the time.

 

But based on those DPA’s, they seem like an incredible addition to normal combat attack chains now as well as retaining their snipe utility. Unless I’m missing something, it almost seems insane to skip these for most classes with access. Is that fair to say?

 

If so, I may have some Mids Tetris to play and a respec to do 😅

Absolutely fair to say. I'd also suggest that you NEVER slot the PVP "Fast Snipe ALWAYS" piece, as you will be sacrificing damage. Since you can get the fast snipe any time (with its fast damage) it will be very rare that you would be 'wasting' either damage or time in any meaningful way for most content.

 

As you revisit rebuilds, keep in mind the bonus damage Snipes get from ToHit buffs (up to a maximum from +22% ToHit). If you can have the Kismet: Accuracy (really +ToHit) in an active (or auto) power, you will be getting that bonus on your Snipe damage.
