My trek to 1500 badges...

Hullo, all,

Just generally sharing. My goal is to get to 1500, but not necessarily to get ALL the badges in the game. So I'm at a smidge over 1200 so far on my main, favorite character, Neoblade (Excelsior server). Currently at vet level 67. Kat/invuln scrapper.

All history badges done. All exploration badges done.

Most of the defeat badges completed.

Fully completed all blueside content through Ouro, as well as all goldside content. Currently working my way through redside content, just about done with the lvl20-24 range arcs.

I did some stuff to complete some of the harder/longer badges - got all the healing badges, the mentoring ones, the held/mezzed ones. Still working on influence, damage taken, and damage delivered badges, but getting there on them, too. Also have all the reject inspiration badges and the reject 500 recipes badge (still working on the reject 1k recipes badge). Even managed to get all the AE badges, including that 8-man testing a mission one. All Day Jobs completed.

Got all the Halloween, Holiday, and Spring Fling badges. Will grab the yearly badges when they come up again in the annual anniversary thing.

Still need to come full circle on alignment, but that'll have to wait 'til redside Ouro content is done.

Have done ALL Safeguard mission stuff, but need to still do the Mayhem mission stuff.

Think I have all strikeforce/task force badges, except for LRSF and Barracuda. Oh, and the first treespec.

I could probably use some guidance on SBB, DFB, DIB, and iTrials - haven't really messed with any of that yet, and I hear there's badges there to be had. Also, a few ???? badges (one I know is the 'talk to people' one in the Marchand arc, but another is a gladiator badge I can't seem to figure out.

Any and all advice on those items appreciated. Badgers, unite! 🙂

Good luck! I'm moving tectonically slow on the master of badges. As long as collecting remains fun, I'll keep at it.

Me too.  I'm up almost to 1400, but most of the rest are going to take teaming.  Not a problem, just need to be able to stay awake past 9pm which is the new 2am for me.

How did you get to Vet level 67 and not have these? My main badger (a Rad/Bio Sentinel) had them both 50!

I used to play under the handle @Purple Clown, back on Live. Now I play under @Lunchmoney

I'm in the UK and play on Reunion.

Lunch, I've got most of the ones in those trees - just missing the topmost ones. Maybe part of it is the invuln? I don't take as much damage overall? And katana is fast, but not as big of a hitter as broadsword or mace, for instance. I'll get'em, though. Just takes some time and farming through CoT minions smackin' me while I Rest for long periods, and leaving autofire on a certain Ouro mission to farm damage dealt overnight(s). 🙂

There are some forum posts on the the various badges and how to get them.   hcwiki is good.

The Marchand badges are good to read the arc notes for so you don't miss them.   SBB, DFB, and DiB are fairly easy, and if you ask about badges when starting them, people normally know how to get them.

Some I'm just letting the attrition on defeats go along to get a few of the newer shard ones.

I still need the top of Damage dealt & taken ones (and I'm vet level 153 now)

Still working on a couple Master badges.  A couple could be knocked out if I just went and applied myself. 😄

Got the final one from Keyes yesterday and now up to 1513.

I have never seriously badged before.  My main I have been running since late Oct now has 1007.  (I alt a lot!) But I have decided to buckle down and knock out at least another hundred or so before I allow altitis to take me down the river again....

Yeah, altitis is a problem and impediment to proper badging. 🙂

Lemming, that's IMPRESSIVE.

I'm a hair under the 1250 mark now. Punched out Barracuda and Mortimer Kal. Also realized that I can apparently get 2 badges instead of 1 for completion of the Shauna Braun arc in different ways, so I'll revisit that one when I finally move back to blueside.

I'm in the middle of the 30-34 redside set in Ouros, so it'll still be a bit. All the patron arcs are going to take some time.

Oh, and I managed to figure out that the ??? one in my Gladiators set is for Mu Guardians, so I can gradually pop that one, too.

Progress. Onwaaaaaaaards!!!!!

30-34 redside Ouros stuff completed now.

Think I may spend some time later this week punching through the Mayhem missions for some easy badges. Looks like there's ones for smacking citizens, and for wrecking cars.

And I recently discovered there's a whole slew of Ouros badges I wasn't getting, because I'd been doing all arcs on the default no-limitations set-up. I'm going to need to revisit some particularly easy arcs to grab those badges. The good news is that it looks like there's a fair number there, so they should be moderately easy to plow through and pick up.

Also looking forward to the anniversary event and picking up the various yearly badges.

Onwaaaaaaaaards!!!!!

I should probably put in this thread a link to the forum post on the Ouro badges. I wish I'd have seen it sooner. It's a little bit of a grindfest, but 70+ badges once you push through it all. That's like gold to a hardcore badger like me.

Here's the link to what I found to help out on it:

One set of badges that takes awhile in the 1000 and 2000 invention badges. The auction house UI is tedious, so grinding the badge is tedious.

I feel it's best to do that one in chunks over time.

For missions badges, make sure and read the wiki before attempting.

Red side, Mr. G (Primal) has a lot of badges, but also many conditions. Like completing lower level arcs for particular contacts.

Efficiency expert is another one that is confusing.

To get Recluse's Right Hand, you have to complete all arcs from all patrons. That's 17 arcs for one badge. Grind out that in chunks.

Seriously? My tank is a shield/mace. As such, my defense was soft-capped for melee at about level 25 or so. You don't take damage if they never hit you. I had to turn my toggles off just to die. Even then, I had to take a knee because I had too many hitpoints for the GMs to kill me fast enough to suit me.
As for damage dealt - it's a tank. Not famous for dishing out damage.

And the held badges? Had to go overnight with 2 sappers, with my toggles off.

Different ATs/powersets will have some of those achievement badges that are harder to obtain than for other AT/powersets.

As for suggestions - focus on the damage taken, dealt, inf earned...after you have all the defeats.
Don't hunt defeat badges until you've done all the Masters, ouro arcs, accomplishments, etc.

And - stepwise refinement - crafting badges, certain arcs - they're tedious, particularly when solo. Break them up over time. Bid on 2000 pieces of common salvage (200 slots, 10 pieces each slot.) before you log off or quit for the day. Next time you're on, grab the salvage, sell for 6 inf (costs you 5 inf to sell anything, so you may as well break even). Repeat until you get all the sales you need.

My widow wasn't even close to the damage taken badge. High defense. I had under 5 million damage taken at vet 200+.

And I solo a lot.

Dang I didn't realize that about the recluse badge!

Totally agree on the defeat badge order. You will totally knock out a majority of the defeat badge requirements from getting other badges (tfs, story arcs, etc). If I had to pick an order, I would do Exploration, History, AE, Day Job, Consignment, Ouroboros, Invention (assuming you've built up a nice bank of inf), Event, PvP, Accomplishment, Achievement, Accolade, Vet Levels and finally Defeat/Gladiator. That is more or less the way I did it, but I didn't go out of my way to not get badges from the order/category.

Got waylaid a bit by a case of altitis, but I'm back at it!

I like the order of completion that Glacier suggests, although I've already done a few out of that order so far. I'm currently on redside Ouros stuff, in the late 30s rounds. Going to complete all flashbacks redside before returning to blue as a vigilante (already completed all blue and gold flashbacks). Then I think I'll start messing with some of the easier to get PvP badges. I dislike PvP intensely, but I may need to suck it up and just do it if I want to hit 1500.

The vet levels and various defeat ones I'm still lacking should come through from that stuff, I figure, over time. The main one I'm worried about is the 1B influ badge. I'm struggling to hit the 500M one (at around 375M so far), so a whole other 500M is going to take some major grinding, I fear. I really, really wish that AE influ pulls counted towards that one - it's a BIG one to try to earn.

Anyway, onwaaaaaaards!!!!!

A neat trick I learned, is you can use Null the Gull to get the alignment badges pretty easily. Just have him swap your alignment to each one, and back again, and I think its most of the alignment badges. Just gotta wait the 7 days to get the last one.

For the inf badge, if you have a damage aura, and good low level resistance/defense, you can do a low level flashback (Twinshot works, I think her first one puts you at level 7) and then stand near the skulls on the far west in Atlas park. Your aura will kill them, and the respawn is very very fast, plus there are a lot of groups close together. Its not a ton of inf, but you can basically afk it for however long you want, as you don't get logged out in flashbacks. And you'll work on your 'Go. Hunt. Kill Skuls' badge 😄

If you have the resources/farmer, a faster way to get the recipe rejection badge - do AE missions for tickets. My farmer will get me 1K tickets in about 2 minutes or so. Each random recipe roll is 60 tickets in the 15-19 Bronze category. When Null has you set to reject recipes - you don't get these, but you do get credit towards the badge. (assuming you're rejecting rares and uncommons)

yeah.  so i have an SG mate that is helping me with the damage taken badges....how the heck does a melee get the healing badges.  or mezzed? lol  it would have taken me 3000 vet levels to get the damage taken badges knocked out.  looking like 30,000 vet levels to get healing with the tools i know about....

Plenty of guides on here about how to do it.  AFK in fire with a heal going, using incarnate heals on groups of npc's, etc.  Same with damage.

Still churning, but a FL beach trip (responsibly, of course - I'm a microbiologist) delayed things a bit.

At 1305 right now, after a quick BAF that earned me 2 of the 4 badges there, and alllllmost completing the last of the Ouros badge-getting steps in the 50 range. Still need to punch out the actual flashbacks in the 50 range, but once I do, I can head back to Hero alignment, getting that badge for coming full circle.

So....progress! Slow, agonizing progress - but some fun doing it all, anyway. 🙂

1323 currently! Managed to stumble onto a Caleb team and get that one punched out. Progress is definitely slowing, but I'm still hopeful that I can make it to 1500 total without TOO much difficulty.

Missed one on a Mr. G arc, but I can Ouro it if necessary. Sitting at vet level 80.

Onwaaaaards!

Ooooooh, found a good trick to get a tough one - the Mu Guardians defeat 100 badge. Turns out that the 3rd Scirocco arc has a mission that is an easy map, with 4 "Mu Traitors" on it that are Mu Guardians.

Set it to 0/1, no bosses, trot it and pop just the 4 Mu Guardians. Exit to character select, rinse repeat until you get the number needed for the badge.

It's not super pleasant, as you have to repeat a lot - but it's easy, safe, and seems like a good way to get this badge. I was having trouble finding enough of them out in the open world areas, and they seemed to only be found in decent numbers in particular maps/missions. Anyway, hope that helps some other badgers.

Also lucked into a Caleb group the other morning, so that was nice. That stupid badge is a rough one to get, too.

Onwaaaaaards! For glory! For 1500 badges!
