Guardians of Praetoria

There's a popular MMOG in Praetoria named... appropriately enough... Guardians of Praetoria.  What do you think it is?  People playing members of Power Division protecting Praetoria?  A medieval fantasy MMOG?  Something else entirely?  Do you think that it was brought over to Primal Earth when Praetorian Earth was evacuated?  Is Jonny playing Guardians of Praetoria in Kallisti Wharf today? :D

Knowing Praetoria, it is probably some subconscious mind-control tool of Mother Mayhem's.

Probably an MMO akin to CoX but the main purpose is to fight the Resistance and Devouring Earth rather than going against the will of the Empire.  Propaganda most likely, but at least it gives the (hidden) children something to distract them from the actual hellhole that is Praetoria.

It's a Pokemon-style, turn-based "creature-fight" game involving the recruitment, training and command of your very own team of patriotic Powers Division Heroes. You send them against rival teams to test their strength, and various sets of dangerous NPC challengers like Hamidon's monsters and those sneaky and untrustworthy traitors in the Resistance.

Its a RPG where you play as Peter Needle,  a dual pistols/classic music defender.  During your adventure you join with several unlikely heroes in your quest to recover the finite rocks - stones with the power to keep several papers from blowing away or to decorate a small portion of a garden.

 

Early on you team up with a badger named Missile,  an assault rifle/wise crack corruptor.  His brute friend, a nature melee/arbor armor named I AM BROOT, also comes along.

 

Another unlikely series of events finds our heroes in the presence of the emerald skinned and future romantic interest Gamlessa.  Although she has daddy issues,  her skills with dual blades are unmatched.

 

Our final addition to the crew is a super strength/....strength man that loves tsoo style tatoos.  Nobody really knows his name so lets just call him Dave.

 

Along the way, Peter Needles is reunited with his father Oge.  A completely sane although extremely promiscous man,  and they work together to thwart Than-yes who is also trying to collect the finite rocks.

 

The game is generally considered a success,  receiving 7.5 out of 10 stars.  The movie did much better and earned 300 billion information at the box office.

Given that, per the Newspaper missions, there's a "Freedom Phalanx" MMO on Primal Earth, I'd assume GoP is its evil mirror-universe counterpart.

You forgot that Peter Needle doesn't like being called "Peter Needle!" Call him Galaxy Prince. Oh, and "Dave" is also known as Dave the Obliterator.

I am afraid we would never know unless some of those devs from Praetoria survived and leaked their source code. Also, they would need to rebuild the game so that it could run on Windows XP.

Also, derailing this forum a bit, imagine the guys maintaining said game in Primal Earth. What do they look like? A group of grizzled war veterans (obviously)? Corporate hackers? Could a bunch of ghouls run and maintain a pirate server?

Dave is actually dave the barbarian and people just call him Dave B.  I cant give it all away though.  Its more obscure than the rest but that should be enough to figure it out.

It's Metronome's pet project. He swiped the code while he was bouncing around as a ghost in the network and now maintains a little pirate server on Primal Earth. (You know he's a total geek-boy at heart. He just has to be.)
