OTOH, it's of benefit that I can update any of my books and they're pushed automatically to all previous buyers. I only use it for casual reading though, and occasional material that I must reference often. If I intend to keep a book or share it, I buy the physical copy. An e-reader has a nicer screen for book reading, it's more portable than a tablet, it doesn't need to be charged for weeks, and it's specifically designed for reading with no notifications from other apps disturbing you. Wouldn't argue; the paper-white screens in particular are nice in all lighting and the readers have crazy battery life. But I long ago set out to minimize the pile of Absolutely! Essential! Junk! and a decent Samsung tablet is more than good enough a reader for me.
