Snarky
So I join a MoLRSF. It was a PUG, but I needed the badge. Set at +0, but led by Will Brute. Another SS/Dark Brute joined. Ad was Kill most Master. I read that as kill safely everything needed slow and steady. I am on a fire fire Blaster. Load in, I hunt flyers. We down those. The "team" is killing every longbow and gun emplacement in sight. It seriously looks like the plan is to kill everything targetable from first mission door to final fight. Thankfully I was spared this tragedy. (which I gave a 50/50. The dark armor brute had 1200+ badges...) The self described "lead Tank" Willpower Brute died right after we put down the flyers with a meek whine "what killed me?" They never even entered the 1st tower. Was stupidity that killed the beast.
Digirium
Eight hours and no comments are you losing your reporting gift of the gab, Snarky? Better to die early in a MoLRSF and get it over with and give up than get to the final fight and die. It sounds to me the problem was a typical thing here i.e. a player or players overestimating their capability as a player, not the AT or power sets. Go in raging hot thinking they can non-stop win but hit the brick wall. All sinking and no swim. Edited June 21 by Digirium 1

Said it had crushed the team It is so hard for me to stick with a team that just had someone die for a reason even the one that got clobbered doesn't understand. If they don't know what killed them, then they may likely suffer the same fate, over and over, until they figure it out. I'm sure it's not a great feeling to be the party to blame for the failure to badge. But, I think the folks that were careful and understood their limits also feel badly for the time they have lost. Just an opportunity for more fun, I suppose. On the bright side, you got some new material for the forums. May I suggest you start logging chat? This way you can cut and paste some of the lunacy you experience for us to see and you won't have to paraphrase. You can just scratch out the names if you think that would be bad form.

Or not, it's lame and maybe a bit sick to make a habit of scurrying to the forums to whine about people who might still be learning or even just made a mistake. Especially from a player like Snarky who is no stranger to dying to even cons themselves. To anybody reading this who is new enough to take Snarky seriously: Don't let this kind of pointless attention-seeking deter you from trying things that you're not always 100% perfect at. It's absolutely ok to learn a game by playing it. It's even ok to fail. Be open to discussing tactics if something isn't going well, and you're fine. To salvage a lesson from this sad thread: Check your combat logs to learn about what you're being hit with. You can copy and paste it into a document out of game and examine it at your leisure with the find command from whatever program you're reading it with, or possibly with parsers that you can find searching this forum. Respect Longbow at all times, they can have heinous combos that absolutely can and will humble you in an instant if the stars align against you. 1

I mostly agree with everything you said. Including my pointless attention seeking. Yet.... If you are going to LEAD a Master of attempt DO NOT attack every Longbow you see, nor try to clear every map. Your teammates 1) might not want to take a 3 hour stroll 2) this will just keep rolling the dice on failing to get the badge. Why the pull quote? Longbow Wardens can have ANY power. And as EBs they tend to stay around for a minute. Attacking multiple ones endlessly is like looking for the magic prize of which one has YOUR kryptonite. And the team fails to get the badge. Like what happened here, and from reports that came back to me what happened on the next attempt. yes, i am a sick nasty sad attention hound draining the meager life from all of you. also, maybe some of you will NOT do stupid things if I write of my humorous escapades. or you will and then I post more. i've been around a hot minute and seen both outcomes. 1 1

Most people don’t really read the forums deeply so it’s more or less you screaming at the clouds and us laughing. Not like you’re doing any harm imo but that’s pretty much what it is 1 Aspiring show writer through AE arcs and then eventually a script 😛 AE Arcs: Odd Stories-Arc ID: 57289| An anthology series focusing on some of your crazier stories that you'd save for either a drunken night at Pocket D or a mindwipe from your personal psychic.|The Pariahs: Magus Gray-Arc ID: 58682| Magus Gray enlists your help in getting to the bottom of who was behind the murder of the Winter Court.|

Triumphant
Well, I don't ordinarily agree with griping about player performance on PUGs but, in this case, it was a Master of run and the guy leading wasn't up to the task. I totally get why you would find it frustrating.
