New toon …

I do not have the time.  Yet…. This one was calling out.  
 

It is a patchwork doll in many ways.  I have wanted to get a Corr to be something i enjoy.  They are literally the most OP thing in CoH.  I have tried dark dark, ice cold, ice dark.  Never happy.  So i started patching.  
 

My favorite blast set.  Fire.  Sure, dark is more my style… but Fire?  Yowza!

 

Dark secondary.  A favorite of mine, brings it back deeper into my world.  I like secondary dark corr because it is a debuffer. I hate being the team hero. And…dark!

 

Fire will be the epic. More dps and rise of the phoenix.  🐦‍🔥 

 

so, fire dark. Some kind of demon or hell creature. I can work with that.  Exactly what kind was hard until i found the name.  Snarkbone. One of my stand bys usually used for undead. The face is the “grin”.  All black outfit.  Demon horns.  Yeah. All stuff i have loved and used just finally working together well

 

the mids build almost wrote itself. Heavy on winters/purples. Decent all around defenses, no softcap.  52% fire resistant lol.  Take that hellions!   
 

i will be playing in the shallow end for sometime my goal is to get most/all blue/red accomplishments as i level, stopping experience and side switching.  
 

always nice to find another obsession lol.

I could've swore I've read this very thread before. Have you already made a Fire/Dark Corruptor?

 

Edit: Looks like that's my bad memory! What ever happen to your Water/ Marine Affinity Corruptor?

Traded out fir a water blaster that us still teaming   Justice Super Teamers Splish Splash team.  As I said , i dont do well on Corruptors.  Hopefully the Fire Dark will be ghs one that clicks.

I have a FireB/DarkM Corruptor, too, @Snarky.  Wow, that build is so old....

I never got around to an official build I mine. I kind of debate the Epic. I enjoyed the leveling process even if it felt a bit slow and End heavy just using common IOs with it.

Char and GFS are GOATed picks after the patch that rebalanced Epic powers.  Not sure why someone deleted my comment about that for no reason, but yeah you'll have a strong character with Fire/Dark/Fire.  Whether you actually enjoy the powersets is a question only you'll be able to answer though.

Fire/Dark is super fun, from speeding 4* to PUG Atta. Slow slotted tar + darkest night + proc'd howling twilight cripples the return fire and you can just tee off with fire. Plenty of viable incarnate options as well. I slightly prefer ice/dark to stack more slows and kd, but that build is much less open and relies a lot on procs. 

You can make quite a tanky corr with cardiac alpha but so many options. it is hard to shield your teammates with shadow fall if you are a hoverer, but you are pretty much unkillable. Raining fire on helpless victims is what superhero right is all about IMO.

Wow! Snark, you got 3x the defense you normally roll with! You're gonna die so hard now.

 

It's been several months, but you and I talked about this very combo before. I like it! It was the first toon I ever fully incarnated (that a word?) out. And still my best DPS toon.

 

My build is a Fire/Dark/Soul and very fun. The debuffs plus high damage output is criminal, and then you add in healing and rez'ing...you'll feel like Bert entertaining the crowd.

Damn. Jinxing me like dat lol.  But yeah, i have lately been building Blasters with nothing. Going into combat with a “get F-d” t-shirt and a winning attitude.  I used to build them with 45-50%+ ranged defense at least.  The defense in this one just came together real natural.  I could strip out the winters/+def sets and proc it out.  But i think this is a good spot.  Eat a med/large purp and have z minute of freedom.

Snarky, you have a D-Sync Elusivity (same as Cytoskeleton, end/tohit/def) slotted in Darkest Night when you want a D-Sync Marginalization (same as Enzyme, end/-tohit/-def), lvl 53 preferably.  This will enhance the -tohit and endurance while the first one will only enhance endurance

 

I would also consider 1, maybe 2 lvl 53 D-Sync Deceleration (same as Stereocilla, slow/end/recharge) for Tar Patch.  All 3 of those attributes can be used by TP.

 

For yucks, you could use a 50+5 Absolute Amazement stun/recharge in Howling Twilight.  That's not a big deal, but it's what I do when 1-slotting HT.

 

Also, using a D-Sync Elusivity in Tactics is some "flex" slotting.  

 

A level 50 Cytoskeleton (current slotting) .29 end/second 12.00 additional tohit (cost = 25M-30M inf on AH)

A level 53 Cytoskeleton .28 end/second 12.3 tohit (cost = 90M-150M on AH, or buy [at least] 4 level 50s and combine yourself)

A humble 50+5 Adjusted Targeting Tohit/end uses .29 end per second and gives a tohit buff of 11.99.  (cost = dirt cheap + 5 boosters)

 

Just putting the numbers out there and you can decide for yourself if this is a good value for you.

Was playing red-side Everlasting today and ran into a toon named SNARKBANE!  Seems Snarky has a nemesis now! lol

Not one of mine.  Was on Snarkbone! (This Corruptor) On Excelsior doing 5-9 badges most of the day.  
 

Now at 14.  I did a nice team up of 4 for Frostfire.  I was very comfortable switching between the heal and dps roles.  I have run Dark Secondary before and like it. I PL’d to 14 and stopped exp again. Will be running a bit of badge content then the TFs/Trial at 15. See how the debuffs affect the fights.  Indonlike the fire damage on the Corr, at least at low level. We shall see…

Away from my gaming PC as I write this, but does fire have the dark color set? Wondering if you can tune it to resemble black fire. You may like it bright though, going for the balrog look.
