Why do we need another shard when we don't have the population to fill just one?

When I try to fill up a team these days it is extremely hard except for only one hour in prime time on weekdays. They should be merging and eliminating shards. Not adding new ones.

i believe it has been imported from another CoH community that exists, rather than Homecoming creating a new shard. it was announced a while ago

 

out of interest, what server do you play on diatane? exelcsior has a huge population if you want more instant TFs, trials etc

No, they should not and the Homecoming Team has repeatedly said they wouldn't. And the players on those lower population shards don't want their characters, bases and identities merged either.

For all your whining about other peoples incompetence, how everyone else does everything wrong, etc. you should perhaps work on your reading. There was an announcement that explained exactly why Victory was being added, what it was and the like.

 

As far as you not being able to fill teams? I kind of doubt it's a shard problem.

The people that are on those low pop servers CHOOSE to be there.  If they wanted to, they could hop over to Excelsior.  They haven't, so apparently the low population isn't a problem for them.  Why do you think it's okay to force them to merge with another server just to make your team building easier?

Yeah... that wouldn't actually make any difference.  See, Captain D here has very specific expectations and notions.  For example, defenders who use anything other than heals or buffs are "wrong".  Tankers who press any key that isn't Taunt don't know how to play.  Controllers = nope.  Dominators are worse controllers.  Et cetera.  Consequently, his recruitment qualifications tend to dissuade some players, disallow others, and extend the process unnecessarily.

 

When he finally gets rolling, his requirements have historically driven players to depart ASAP, thus a delay as he stops to recruit replacements, who will be, as noted above, have to meet certain qualifications, or are booted shortly after joining if they're not played the way he wants them to be played, or they hightail it when they realize what they've gotten themselves into, creating further delays.

 

He's also restricts himself to lower level play, for various (and hilarious) reasons, so he has a limited target set, and he only runs certain arcs at those levels, so he's competing against the DFB/TF-to-20 crowd.  And the AE crowd.  He's basically dredging the bottom of the barrel at that point, only getting people who want a badge for something he's running or who have just started playing and are only joining his team because his announcement was the first they saw.

 

In a nutshell, he's spent five years training people to avoid him and is reliant on newbs for teams.  And we ain't exactly overflowing with those on any shard.

Yeah, but do you think you could narrow down why he is having issues

Have you tried it with an alt acct?  I fill teams pretty easy and some leaders fill leagues in just a few minutes?   
 

One person i know has me blocked ir just ignores my “me pls” requests to join their teams. if you have a lot of people blocked or people have you blocked….

A few years back I was in that position.   I was sending tells into the void apparently, but when the people I was on discord joined the team, we looked at the global and went "Oh".  And I was happy not to be on that TF.
