I was noticing how rare respec recipes have become at the auction house (only 2 available for sale right now). Anyone who's seen this before have a guess as to how soon these shortages work themselves out? Thanks!

The Reward Merit vendor has Respec recipes if for some reason a player needs to buy them. I wouldn't recommend purchasing Respec recipes like that because of how pricey that is (equivalent is 50 million inf for 1 Respec recipe). They also drop from opening Super Packs too.

You get a free respect every 10 levels...  Just how many do you need?

Apparently Six 🙂

I have had one drop my entire time playing on Homecoming dont recall ever getting one on live.

I honestly don't understand wjy anyone would buy one since you can get them ad nauseam when the WST is the respec trials.

Girls of Nukem High - Excelsior - Tempus Fabulous, Flattery, Jennifer Chilly, Betty Beatdown, Totally Cali, Two Gun Trixie

Babes of War - Excelsior - High Beam (Yay), Di Di Guns, Runeslinger, Munitions Mistress, Tideway, Hard Melody, Blue Aria

Many alts and lots of fun.  Thank you Name Release For letting me get my OG main back!

I avoid respecs, but some people seem to enjoy them.  At least they're usually worth an alright chunk of inf when I get the recipe and throw it onto the ah.

The respecs earned through leveling aren't recipe drops, they're just added to however many available respecs you have.  (Basically the same as crafting a respec recipe.)  They're available through the /respec command.

Depends how long you've had the toon and how many builds you have. About to use up the last respec I have on my main I rolled back in 2019.

That's two more than I'll need any time soon.

With over 150 characters I know that I've /respec'd less than 5 times total since being on Homecoming. I'm guessing only 2 or three times total (I can't even remember the last time I did a /respec), so, well less than a /respec per year and each character gets one for free every 10 levels.

I'm kind of curious how much /repec'ing people actually do.

I'm guessing that a lot of players /respec when their character hits level 50 ... and there are many that PL/doorsit to 50 .... but then they would have 5 ... so ...

If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore.

(It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications)

Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case.

But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable.

Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

I always respec at 50. It is the easiest way to swap large numbers of enhancements I tend to recycle attuned PVP enhancements, non-catalyzed winters and Universal Damage pieces among pre-50s.

I experiment quite a bit with powers, so while leveling I sometimes pick powers to test and/or powers I want only as mules... so power picks get shuffled via respecs when I am testing a new combination of powers.

The only other thing I often use respecs for is to slot un-catalyzed enhancements into (a large number of) power picks to install crafted-but-uncatalyzed pieces into them, again to support recycling. If the AH price of a catalyzed piece is above 2M, and that piece is one I am pretty certain I'll use on a future character, I will do this using one of the many many catalysts I have on hand in order to have a previously catalyzed piece ready for a future character. The level 49 power pick and level 50 slots are convenient to use to pick a power to catalyze certain enhancement types... if I don't want that power in a final build and I am going to repsec anyway, I find it convenient to use those last four slots to catalyze extra Health, Defense, etc. pieces.

I've tinkered and changed the builds of my most active Toons many times.  (Also, there's a max of 6 available from the 3 Blue-side and 3 Red-side Respec Trials, 5 I think while levelling.)

I've not even done new builds and respec'ed all my Toons affected by the Power Level Available changes in (I think) i27p5.  And then there's at least a few changes in every Page that means I should at least review some of the current builds, perhaps do rebuilds and then respecs.  Which could mean changing the Trays layout on several (screenshots after).

Example: My main is an AR/Devices Blaster, of which I have...4 copies (1 each Primal and Praetorian, on both the CB and HC Shards), with the Primal Toons being L50 and having 3 builds.  There's also my BR/Devices Blasters (1 each for CB and HC) that need a new build because the change is taking a Devices Power I previously skipped.  Thus I'm in the middle of a minor revision--which though just swapping 1 Power for another, also needs changing the Levels at which a couple of Powers are taken and a redesign of the Trays layout.  Turning into a major project.

That's 10 potential respecs.  Fortunately, 1 of them is for a Toon of a very low Level that doesn't need to respec, so down to 9.  3 of those remaining respecs are very simple.  But 6 are very involved.  Yesterday, I did the 4 needed on the CB Shard which also covered the Trays layout changes, so the 5 I need to do on HC (despite 3 of them for a L50 build) should go much faster.

That's 1 minor change that just happened to affect many builds.  It's why it would be nice to get an improved respec system, especially for simple changes.  (But that may be technically very hard or impossible.)

Over the past year I've gotten a couple of respec recipe drops. When I got the first one, the AH was flooded with them and it was almost worthless. It sat in my inventory for a while and I eventually sold it when the price improved. Pretty sure I also sold the second one, but now I have to check.

It's possible that since Winter Packs are no longer discounted during the Winter Event, fewer people are buying them and there are fewer respec recipes entering the market.

I respec a lot to try out different power combos. The cheapest way to get a respec recipe is from the Halloween contact in Croatoa (right next to the station) - she sells respec recipes for 50 of the Halloween special salvage which you can buy on the AH for about 1000 apiece.
