Scarlet Shocker Posted Wednesday at 07:09 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:09 PM a new kind of superhero movie and your main is the shining light in the story. Who plays your main character on the silver screen? 2 How the hell am I even supposed to know if ignorance is bliss?
Forager Posted Wednesday at 07:27 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:27 PM Fun question. Forager is heavily inspired by Alonso from Training Day. My first choice would have neen Tom Sizemore RIP Thomas Haden Church's character on Tires reminds me a lot of Forager now though. This is assuming we can't get Denzel.
Go0gleplex Posted Wednesday at 07:35 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:35 PM That's actually rather difficult to answer; most of the actors I would use are retired or dead from old age and the current crop have done little to impress. So less so that I stopped even watching movies a decade ago. If breathing isn't an issue - I'd likely go with Robin Williams if his schedule was free; mocking bad guys while dispensing a beat down is an art form in itself after all. lol
JKCarrier Posted Wednesday at 07:55 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:55 PM Mekanikron is a big ol' robot, so he'd probably be CGI, and you'd just need a voice actor. Maybe Keith David or someone with a similarly deep voice. 1 --- 64453 - This Was Your Life? - An AE arc that lets you relive your hero's greatest triumphs! (Er, there may still be some bugs in the system...)
Sakura Tenshi Posted Wednesday at 08:04 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:04 PM Hmm, I used Triple H once as a faceclaim for Gaia Redeemer in another RP setting, but he’s also a lot older in that one. I might go with Chris Hemsworth but I think he might still be a bit old for the City of version I imagine. Of course, this doesn’t go into potentially casting past incarnations of Gaia Redeemer which might come up, but that’s a bridge to be crossed.
Skyhawke Posted Wednesday at 08:37 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:37 PM Waaaaay back in the '00s, Sky-Hawke was heavily inspired by Superman. So, I'd say Henry Cavill would be my pick for playing him. 1 Sky-Hawke: Rad/WP Brute Alts galore. So...soooo many alts. Originally Pinnacle Server, then Indomitable and now Excelsior
Snarky Posted Wednesday at 09:06 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:06 PM Of all the vampires i have seen onscreen Willem Dafoe is just spot on perfect for Snarky in “Shadow of the Vampire”. Not only do I use him as my icon, but the characterization of Schrek was perfect. This was partially due to the script, but Herr Dafoe brought the perfect performance. In particular the petty nature, short sightedness, and lack of curiosity about what anyone else is doing. Partly, in my mind, due to selfishness. Yet also do to a complete lack of interest in anyone else. All of this describes MY Snarky exactly. He wants what he wants (which may change at any time) and cares not at all about anything else. 1
Techwright Posted Wednesday at 10:27 PM Posted Wednesday at 10:27 PM Hmm...interesting question. I can think of 3, but to understand why, it might help to understand Major Ray Gunn a bit better. So, here's his bio: Gordon Rodgers, a dedicated fan of old time serial movie sci-fi, is living his dream. Calling in several markers, he was able to obtain a powered undersuit, the latest in retro-engineered Ritki technology. In addition, he bought the rights to Ray Gunn, a nearly forgotten "space ranger" serial movie hero. Combining these, he rebooted the Ray Gunn franchise, becoming the living embodiment of the character. He purposefully targets villains that draw parallels to his character's adventures. Clockwork, Pumicites, and Sky Raiders he refers to as "killer robots", "alien monsters", and "space pirates". He's probably pushing it by calling Trolls "green men from Mars", and definitely wacko for calling the Banished Pantheon "space zombies". Still, his exploits are gaining fans, and his small franchise of products is taking off. In truth, he cares little for the money. He just wants a new generations to appreciate the great old heroes. So in summation, he's wealthy, but not Bruce Wayne levels of ludicrous wealth. He's quirkily adapts the 1950s "pure" heroes (no real angst) personality, and is happy to retool himself into the living embodiment of one of those on-screen heroes. And he's willing to make a buck off of it. I can also say, despite the goofball antics, Major Ray Gunn can seriously focus and get down to business when needed. It's a bit of a Booster Gold vibe, I guess, though I didn't intend that. So, Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillon first come to mind, though they're a tad old for the role, which I envision as 40-ish in age. After recently seeing Glen Powell in Twisters, portraying both the outlandishly wild and very serious sides of his character, I think he might do nicely.
Black Talon Posted Wednesday at 10:48 PM Posted Wednesday at 10:48 PM Very interesting and personal issue to have brought up here. While I've had various celebrities (and a few friends/family) in mind for a number of alts, for my main - i.e., Black Talon - I'd have to nominate the incomparable Idris Elba. The man has done it all; hero, villain, lover, fool - and always with an air of absolute conviction as to the rightness of the role he's playing (meaning that person believes they're completely in the right, and the audience can appreciate the logic of the position, even if they don't agree with him). Having the guy do a superhero role is, I believe, an inevitability, and all my hopes that he gets one that allows him to play the gamut of human emotions and motivations. Just gotta print out that "Origin of Black Talon" story, send it into Warner Bros. and wait for the offers to start marching in...
Yomo Kimyata Posted Wednesday at 11:57 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:57 PM Either Tim Night Shamalot, Humperdinck Bandersnatch, or Gordon Love-Hewitt. Who run Bartertown?
Neiska Posted yesterday at 12:36 AM Posted yesterday at 12:36 AM Well not for MY characters, but I'd love to see Weird Al or Carrot Top in a superhero movie.
Mopery Posted yesterday at 12:43 AM Posted yesterday at 12:43 AM (edited) A good action/revenge movie is always popular, so I'd go with my AR/Traps Corruptor "Early Bird". Here's his bio(I imagine him narrating over a montage of these events...) -THE WORM- Can't stop thinking about what he's done to me. Killed my family, stole my nest egg, then left me for dead. -Only I didn't die- That's one mistake the Worm will live to regret. He crawled in, then he crawled out, that damned Worm even played a game of pinochle on my snout! Yet somehow I was able to escape his clutches. It's all fuzzy now, I remember stumbling through Brickstown when I fell into the dark of night. When I awoke I was in a soft nest, Doc Sheridan had found me and nursed me back to health. I spent three months in the hospital, then six more in rehab. During my recovery, the Worm hurt a lot more birds here in Paragon City, then disappeared. My best guess is he's burrowed deep into the underground in the Rogue Isles. I'm on his trail, and I'm getting closer. It won't be long now... -- I'M GONNA GET THAT WORM!!! -- Edited yesterday at 12:45 AM by Mopery Those times you saw no footprints, I had Fly toggled on.
cranebump Posted yesterday at 12:57 AM Posted yesterday at 12:57 AM My KR-based staff vigilante is a Spec Ops vet who did some bad shit for the government (before stealing their high tech gear when he mustered out). I’d say Anthony Mackey for Acrobattle (he’s closest in looks, I’d say). For KR Devil, my punisher type guns/arrow slinger, I had to do some searching. Carlos Pratts looks like a good choice. I have done a TON of AE work, both long form and single arc. Just search the AE mish list for my sig @cranebump. Troo Posted yesterday at 12:57 AM Posted yesterday at 12:57 AM I'd like to see @Snarky played by John C. Reilly. Wreck-it-Ralph as the prince of darkness. 1 "Homecoming is not perfect but it is still better than the alternative.. at least so far" - Unknown (Wise words Unknown!) Si vis pacem, para bellum
Snarky Posted yesterday at 01:32 AM Posted yesterday at 01:32 AM 31 minutes ago, Troo said: I'd like to see @Snarky played by John C. Reilly. Wreck-it-Ralph as the prince of darkness. He certainly has the intellect and the range. If he could find a way into the character he could definitely stay there. 1
BlackSpectre Posted yesterday at 01:45 AM Posted yesterday at 01:45 AM While I'm not the best at remembering actors or their names, a few come to mind for Black Specter... Marko Zaror He is a martial artist, has the looks, and the passion. He could definitely play a dark, brooding hero filled with rage bubbling just under the surface of his disciplined mind. And younger versions of: Christian Bale or Daniel Day Lewis. Both of them are such good actors they could probably pull it off. Black Spectre was originally created as a combination of comic book heroes... Iron First, Moonknight, Batman, Raven, and the Shadow. ORIGIN: Mark Preston was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, a lost child. On a lark, following his path to enlightenment, he flew to Tibet to study martial arts from the ancient Masters. While there, strange, unusual powers suddenly began to manifest themselves within him. The Tibetan Masters called it a gift from the gods, and with the help of their greatest mystics he began to control them. Summoning the Yin of darkness and negative Chi, he now calls himself Black Spectre and battles injustice and evil wherever he finds it. "My teachings have taught me that the greatest fear of evil men is that of the unknown. Therefore, I will transform myself into a living mystery. A man hardly real, barely seen. A dark shade. Scarlet Shocker Posted yesterday at 05:26 PM Author Posted yesterday at 05:26 PM I'd choose Chloe Grace Moritz as Scarlet Shocker and Karen Gillan as Invincible Woman How the hell am I even supposed to know if ignorance is bliss?
arcane Posted yesterday at 05:29 PM Posted yesterday at 05:29 PM As long as the film team promises to produce the exact polar opposite of your average trash MCU movie, I’m sure it will win an Oscar.
