randomperson Posted Thursday at 03:38 AM Posted Thursday at 03:38 AM When I first started doing content in Cimerora, I always did the Surgeons first. But after a while it just got to be too much of a pain to always separately target them. Also depends how much my build depends on mitigation. If I go after the surgeon first, but leave the boss unmitigated, he might kill me while I'm distracted. 1
Scarlet Shocker Posted Thursday at 10:51 AM Posted Thursday at 10:51 AM I'm kinda surprised nobody went here: All the best chemistry jokes argon
roleki Posted Thursday at 01:46 PM Posted Thursday at 01:46 PM When I farm the walls in Cimeroa with my Fire/FF controller, my opening move is to drop Smoke on the Surgeon, then yeet them clear off the wall with Repulsion Bolt. In this way, rather than being murdered outright, the Surgeons are merely inconvenienced by having been flung hundreds of feet away from their swordfightin' buddies, who are now on fire. 2 As a matter of fact, a Rad/Fire Brute does just fine in Fire *and* S/L farms, and regular content. Just because some rando can't make it work, doesn't mean their experience obviates that of all others.
catsi563 Posted Thursday at 03:40 PM Posted Thursday at 03:40 PM this entire post seems doctored ill go now and nurse my cheeseburger 1 My Dear you deserve the services of a great wizard but youll have to settle for the aid of a second rate pick pocket ~Schmendrick So you mean you'll put down your rock, and I'll put down my sword; and we'll try and kill each other like civilized people?

Yomo Kimyata Posted Thursday at 04:30 PM Posted Thursday at 04:30 PM Earlier this year, I was on a PUG ITF and one of the members of our group was wearing the Cim Surgeon costume for the entire ITF. It was brilliant. 1 Who run Bartertown?

Doomguide2005 Posted Thursday at 05:55 PM Posted Thursday at 05:55 PM Depends a little on who I'm on. My Nrg/Temp blaster will blow them up pronto, Claw/SR scrapper depends a bit more ... keeping the EBs and Bosses upright I'm liable to take a quick hop over and land a Follow Up Focus on them. Confuse is fun to, though I can tell if someone is paying attn to them by how fast they die despite being carpeted in pink-purple dots.

Hedgefund Posted Friday at 07:16 PM Posted Friday at 07:16 PM I use "enemy alive" in my surgeon target bind. "Alive" is important so you don't target corpses. 1
Bob Posted Saturday at 08:56 AM Posted Saturday at 08:56 AM In the rare occurrence I am in a group that can't butcher most trash, the worst I see happening is that an elite boss gets healed to full, but then someone almost always breaks off to go kill the healer(s). This game is not as fluid as other mmorpgs. You que your abilities, and you get locked in position. So if people are spamming away at anything that moves in a cluster of 30+ enemies being engaged, I'd rather them all be doing that and clean up the healers later, than some blaster wasting time trying to eyeball the surgeons or even have them targeted but them being around a corner (common). Meanwhile that blaster could have downed quite a bit of other trash before a heal even went off. With that said, if you are playing a support and have nothing to heal, your debuffs were applied, or your targets CC'd... then you should probably be the one to go volunteer to hunt the lowest HP enemy in the task force. Let the DPS actually down bigger threats, and the lower DPS ATs could go bring the surgeons down just as fast. 1
Triumphant Posted Saturday at 06:02 PM Posted Saturday at 06:02 PM I've been guilty of this the last two times that I've played a ranged toon on ITF's. It's because I haven't made targetting macros for those characters yet, and I've been lazy about doing it. I'll try to get that fixed before I sign up for another one. 😝 On the other hand, I DO see that as primarily the task of ranged AT's. So, if I'm playing a melee dude in an ITF, don't expect me to take care of that unless the surgeon is standing right next to me.
